  • this was my girls grandpa...apparently he married into the family awhile back. it's a shame i couldn't make it to his funeral...im just now starting to learn about him.

  • I was very upset over his death, way more than freaking Michael Jackson. Callaway was one of a kind that many in the future need to emulate

  • Watched him for years and years with great admiration.

My very favorite moment was when he was interviewing the great former Chicago Bulls player Norm Van Lier, who had broken down momentarily and could not speak after relating an emotional time in his life.

Callaway simply reached over and gently touched Van Lier on the arm and brought him back by quietly saying "Norm."

It was just so human. And so Callaway.

  • The lack of comments here at this moment just is mind boggling to me. It was a pleasure to watch John Callaway over the years and he'll be sorely missed.

  • I'm also disappointed by the lack of comments, then again I'm disappointed that there aren't more John Calloway videos on You Tube. What a talented, and witty guy, and a great interviewer and journalist, one of the best, a huge loss to the medium and the city of Chicago. RIP Mr. Calloway!

Thanks, great post! I notice the tags on this video reference Letterman, this was actually a parody of the short-lived Johnathan Brandmeier TV show called "Johnny B On The Loose" just for historical context!
