The fact is Kara didn't pay for anything since trainees, and now that they make money, they have 3000$ as pocket money. The rest goes to paying everything I mentioned and grooming the next artists of DSP (like part of the money earned from their seniors got into grooming them). Anyways, that’s why I’ll never want to be a kpop star. Too much trouble for too little in return. At least now it looks like issue’s been 'resolved' at least for now. Hopefully it won't blow up again later.

@chouchou103 So true! Fans don't normally think of those behind-the-scenes expenses, but we're sure that if you added it up it would be a large amount of money! We're just happy to see Kara back together performing and filming again!

And just to play devil's advocate, deduct the food, the gaz, the plan tickets, the salary of stylists(clothes/make up/hair), drivers, choreographers, song writers, MV directors, cameramen, everyone that works with them, the dorm rent, hotel rooms, stage costumes and consider they didnt have to pay for anything since they were trainees, (plus the dance and vocal classes they took, and probably the fixing of their teeth, the company probably paid for surgery (Hara confirmed having eye surgery))

From some updated info the $3,000 was for a promotional fee and does not reflect Kara's total earnings.

Kara supposedly earned $300 thousand each last year (1.5 mil collectively) and the projections for this year is $500 thousand this year (2.5 mil collectively). Considering that Lee Hyori one of the highest paid celebrities in Korea only makes $8-900 thousand a year goes to prove that Kara is getting paid their fair share (If the DSP statement about the salary is true)...

About JEWELRY, I was incredibly infuriated hearing they played their comeback intro by "accident" on Inki. This really ruins their whole stage presence. They've been purposely only revealing little by little. Now it seems like their wardrobe and all has been revealed so its pretty much a piss off. They've gone through so much crap.

As for KARA I am definitely taking a quiet stance. I feel like they are A list musicians in Japan which bothers me all this had to happen. Until members talk, ...

I don't have a lot to say about KARA. I have the feeling that Seungyeon and Jiyoung will go back to DSP just like Hara did last week. Nicole... I don't know, but I hope she'll do the same thing. I think things will to be better if they go back. Hopefully DSP will realize it was too much for KARA. They were too busy and weren't paid enough. If DSP don't want to lose this succesful group, they'll treat them better.

this kara thing, i feel like kara is on the losing end. i just feel like it. for one, Hara, and seungyeon and jiyoung are said to have been thinking of pulling out, w/c only leaves Nicole to fight for their rights. and the fact that Nicole's mom is being put on the negative spotlight for initiating this thing. everything is shady,and i don't trust their legal reps. the Landmark?

well i agree you should never get paid 3000 out of 18Million so in a way it is kind of kara's fault for signing a contract witout reading it properly, i mean professional cameramen who get paid better, beleive me i know, at the same time i think the issue should be resolved easily if like a press conference was to take place, and it is definately not hard at all for their company to compensate them with a better paycheck.

Sorry but I must agree with melloe - especially considering that I actually posted a pronunciation guideline before. I can understand mispronouncing "seungri" but how does one mispronounce the title of Orange Caramel's song, "Aing" which is only said like 20,000 times in the song itself? It's definitely frustrating, guys.

I honestly believe that Kara has the upper hand here.

The entertainment company that has contracts with them would be too stupid to disband their money generating "product" of sort. The members should hold firm and believe in each other and not back stab. DSP or Landmark will have to renegotiate their contractual terms to better suit the performers wishes. I wish them the best of luck. As a fan of Kara, I hate to see this controversy go on any further.. :(

I agree. Getting only $3000 for working their butts off, practicing vocals, dancing, doing commercials, doing variety shows, guest appearances on other celebrity shows is just ridiculous.

Perhaps Kara as a whole should've been more stringent about their contractual terms. However, my guess is that, after working for so many years as trainees, they were willing to work for (almost) free just to make their debuts. Now that they are super famous, they are regretting the contractual terms.

my first thought during the kara/dsp/landmark/moms incident was 'what if they disband?' but thankfully even the members themselves have that that isn't going to happen. I think that DSP and the distribution companies need to realise that Kara are the moneymakers in all of this and having them break up is just stupid. They need to be paid fairly seeing as thought they're the ones who put all of the hard work into what they do and they need to be aprriciated for it by their own company.
