I have a lot of respect for Tarantino as a director...but how wrong is he about Raging Bull and Taxi Driver being "comedies"? Those are both brilliant movies, but I don't remember laughing even ONCE while watching either of them. There are one or two subtly humourous moments, but the tone of both films is far too dark for those moments to illicit laughing out loud. American Psycho - THAT'S a good example of a movie which both extremely dark and very funny.

True Romance is a great screenplay by Tarantino. It's a great film by Scott. But one thing it is not is, realistic. Anything to do with Tarantino is a love of film and takes place in a film universe, but never do his characters come from real life, yes, even Jackie Brown(which has more relation to Scarface than real life). Not to say he's not brilliant, but he is not to be confused with creating real like characters.
