  • the mother;

"she keeps saying she hates making me cry, but she keeps on making me cry etc etc,"

    SHE CAN'T F****** HELP IT !

SHE HAS A F****** ILLNESS WITCH MAKES HER F****** DO THAT !

AND YOU THINKS SHE JUST WANTS TO MAKE YOU CRY ?!

    TSS

  • I would kill my parents if they lied and put extra fucking calories in my food without me knowing. I'm livid, I know they're only trying to help, and that they love their daughter. But UGH.

  • the mom is so wrong. wow.

  • I know how it feels tobe anorexic because i am. I have been for about 4 years now. I knew I needed to gain weight but i just couldn't keep the weight on. I finally sat down at the table and ate as much as I could. I am at 130 puonds right now and very healthy. HOPE YOU GET BETTER VICKY!!

  • they have both their own tricks lol

  • My parents always say "We cooked your favorite meal" "we made X meal, you know, you love it!" but even if we love a meal, if we can't eat we just can't! I'm scared that my parent pu more calories in my meal!

  • her parents seem pretty fucking awful to me. they're not the ones with an eating disorder. they are being asses to her.

  • i love the accent of her mom! <3

  • Vicki must be kind of stupid if she can't taste butter in her mash potato. I love butter, ohhh butter!!!

  • @FisherCynge you have NO idea of how it feels to have this horrible awful anxiety to eat fat food and stuff! It´s NOT that simple! :'(.......... I´ve been anorexic for 8 years now...

  • @kristenellie Actually I do know how it feels I am Anorexic and have been for 10 years. I'm not blaming the girl on here...I'm just saying if she were me I would know if butter was in something.

  • @FisherCynge "I can't beliveits no butter" :P

  • her familly need to stop thinking of themselves and think about there daughter it aint easy to just change they need to get a grip

  • I love that the documentary shows how both Vicky and her father have their tricks to fool eatch other about the food ;D

  • i do that milk and cereal trick all the time. i never thought about the toaster one though. clever.

  • @laurenheartscouture I'm an anorexic, and I'm getting tips from a "stop anorexia" type of video, how ironic.

  • I wonder how vicky reacted when she watched the docu and saw her parents tricks and her parents know her tricks as well after watching the docu : /

  • @CaramelCleo I so agree with you!

  • Comment removed

  • What?-- how is she able to skip meals when her parents are practically watching her every move?

  • how long was that? what year?

  • @50605954 This was in 2000.

  • wow...i do ALL of her tricks...

  • I feel so sorry for Vicki, I understand that her family love her, but they create such a different environment for an anorexic to gain weight! Tricking her is not the way they should go about making her put on weight!

  • what's her name?

  • @catherine1853 Vicki Carter

  • @MrsZwinkyGurl You've got to be kidding! On the contrary a lot of anorexics don't want any attention regarding their weight and eating habits they just want to be left alone with the whole thing.

  • @fleurdesneiges99 Them watching her is love. They are just walking a tight rope.

  • oh my god, poor kid. I feel sorry for her family, all those hidding things U_U

  • They should secretly give her meat not only fake vegetarian sausages she would have more energy ;P

  • @czachoska I tink she prepares her own food (?)

  • I love the color of her toenail polish!

  • vickys tricks really helped me! cheers!

  • @dazzlelightx Remember that you're only hurting yourself. Anorexia's got you, and you need help, not self-destructive tips from another person who's as caught up in the illness as you are. I realize I may sound harsh to you, but it's the truth. The cold hard truth. Anorexia kills. That's the truth, too. Please consider getting help. Once you're recovered, you'll be so glad you did.

  • @frickinmatchbox Unfortunately, once you appear to be recovered you're still haunted by the thoughts. Relapse is highly possible. Not saying it's a lost cause, nothing like that, just saying that it's something that wont just go away completely.

  • @Bampy Yeah, I understand what you're saying. However, one can definitely not say, "Oh, I'm not going to try to recover because the thoughts are always going to be there anyways." We have to encourage those who are in the grip of the illness to seek treatment, because dealing with thoughts and a possibility of relapse is worlds better than being deathly thin and dealing with a probability of death. Many people have been recovered for years, and it should be a goal to strive for. :)

  • @frickinmatchbox They shouldn't say it, yet they know none the less as well as people who do understand the condition will find it easier said than done. I'm not saying don't give them encouragement and understanding, no, I'm saying they'll still struggle, despite having a healthy BMI. That each and every day is a struggle to put food in their mouth, even if they appear to be 'healed'. I'm also not saying they're hopeless, just the struggle is still there and relapse is still possible.

  • @Bampy You are right, the struggle can continue for a long time (or for some people, forever). Anorexia is an insidious enemy... I still wish luck to all those who are on the path of recovery. There are so many amazing things that life has to offer you, and you will be able to enjoy them once you are better. Life is worth living for---anorexia isn't.

  • its ironic how her mum said shes difficult to live w/ hmm...shes on the verge of death anyways.

  • It's very difficult for her parents & Vicky.

  • I hate the way her father speaks. Of course I understand he wants her to get better, but god, she's probably going to see this documentary and she'll see him boasting about how he alters her food and it's going to make her feel even more like her life's being interfered with.

  • I'm on the parents side, but I think it's kinda hypocritical to tell Vicky she can't be trusted, when they are secretly putting butter in her food 0_o...

  • @SyntheticSugarcube They have to do something to get some extra calories in her diet since she uses tricks and skips meals.

  • I understand the mother is so upset over her daughters illness.. but she needs to understand that poor vicky can't recover within a couple of days.. it's not possible!! :(

  • I'm 14 years old and 167 and weight: 50!! I"M GOOD!

  • IF you goggle her name,, a 2009 update to read and photo,,she looks beautiful and healthy weight,,she married and had a baby boy,,she a teacher and is doing well,,what a inspiration to see her story

  • @EvaDanger

Yeah, think you are right! I don't like the doctor, he has such an attention seeking voice and he obviosly doesn't have a clue what he is talking about. He maybe has seen a lot of patients struggling with anorexia, but does he understand the disease? I doubt.

  • shes doing great now, shes married and has had a baby x

  • Not all eating disorders are started by a diet or a want to be thin/thinner. A lot of ED's start due to anxiety and the ED is a way to control that anxiety. For me, mine started as I had extremely bad panic attacks where I was vomitting constantly and everything I ate I threw back up, so I eventually just stopped eating. This then lead to anorexia and that's when I started thinking I was fat.

  • this film turned me into an anorexic in 2000; they shudnt show stuff - its a trigger. im happy to say i love being normaloish weight now

  • @Angelparisjordan Why are you watching it again then?

  • @Angelparisjordan I doubt this film turned you anorexic, but maybe it was a trigger. Not to be at all disrespectful! I'm glad you're doing better!:)

  • I wonder how she's doing now..

  • By a severe case of anorexia?? That's not true! The menstruation can also stop when it's not a severe case. And I can know it. I'm not anorexic but I do have a eating problem and my menstruation stopt too...

  • @Cat00tjuh You're right. It's actually one of the criteria for diagnosis. So if it didn't stop, you can't even have officially anorexia.

  • @sodabeentjes that's not true. When I was 13 I got diagnosed with anorexia and again when I was 16, and I kept on having my period.

  • @wandalllala The official diagnostic criteria in the DSM IV states the following: "•Amenorrhea (at least three consecutive cycles) in postmenarchal girls and women. Amenorrhea is defined as periods occurring only following hormone (e.g., estrogen) administration." So only if you use the pill, this criteria falls. But to be true, not all doctors hold themselves to the official criteria, so yes you can get the diagnosis. But OFFICIALLY you wouldn't get it. Confusing huh ;)

  • @sodabeentjes well... that's weird! I officially have anorexia, and then I officially don't... wow, I hate diagnoses.

  • @wandalllala Yes it is weird. If you were on the pill, you still officially had it. But it doesn't really matter, in the criteria for the DSM V, they are probably gonna remove that criteria. Cause for instance, if you first loose your period, then get force fed, so it starts again, you all of a sudden don't have anorexia anymore? That's nonsense. So don't worry about the official diagnosis, it's bad enough to have an eating disorder, no matter what it's called.

  • @sodabeentjes exactly, but it's hard to get the right type of therapy if they give you the wrong diagnoses. Believe me, I've tried it. They diagnosed me with depression and gave me happypills, even though I certainly wans't at all depressed.

  • @sodabeentjes

The DSM V only applies to the states. I was also diagnoses without loss of period.

  • @believeindreamsx Here in the netherlands we also go by DSM (IV). DSM V has yet to come. Where are you from then?

  • I think her parents are a little delusional - if parents watching and nagging their children could work there would BE no anorexic children... parents in my opinion are simply not equipped to help their daughters out of this problem

  • The hypocryts...

watch first 1:48 and then 4:07

well there's plenty trust over there :\

  • so sad

  • how sad

  • They need to realise that it's NOT EASY! She can't just STOP! They're like "She annoys me so much, she tells me she hates seeing me cry but yet she continues doing it!" WELL OBVIOUSLY, IT NEEDS TIME! SHE CAN'T JUST STOP! Gosh, it's annoying.

  • Oh, it's not a good idea to sneak in butter. I understand why they do it, but that will only make her sure that she can't trust her parents... openness is very important in all ED treatment.

  • I agree! :| They should seriously give her what she needs but tell her at least.. she could start hating them or going back to anorexia etc.

  • Sharp Shooting here - someone once told me it's like a demon manifesting itself in a person - any thoughts? This must be so hard to deal with....the poor family, I'd go mental as well if I was the parents!

  • @Quick81 Yes, sometimes it actually feels like you are going to die if you don't get the food off of you as fast as possible (excercising), There is always a voice countering why you should eat by politely informing you that you are a hideous beast. Often times it isn't even your own voice, it's like someone else lives in your head.

  • @brendaeileen Really really sad and terrible. Sounds like you know - or know of someone. Important to have strong people around you at times like this. Thanks for the reply. (-:

  • @Quick81 no problemo

  • The Netherlands.

  • What language is this one?

  • Dutch

  • I hope kids are not gonna watch this! This "documentary" is just giving kids ideas about how to trick their parents!

  • @jklfds85 Only if they take it that way.. but it's also informing them on how hard and horrible it would be to go through this...

  • For an anorexic she has some beautiful hair..

  • Comment removed

  • There is a general consensus among psychologists that full recovery takes anywhere between 5-10 years.

  • goddamn people....this is dutch..not the same as german!! we don't like to be compared to german ..so stop it:@

  • who compared?

  • that stupid hananathebanana person..he says he knows german in a high level...but again this is not german..not even close!

  • I wouldn't say "not even close"... I'm german, I understand 75% of this video.

    But I understand your anger.

  • I'm a German born American, I can barely understand anything and I could tell it wasn't German! XD)

  • @KittyIsAround

My mom is dutch and she can understand some german, and when she gets drunk she can speak it. haha

  • @schizodaan Haha then develop a way different language! Haha just bugging.

  • I feel so sorry for her, having her family stare at her in silence while she eats. They need to try and act normal and chat like a normal family. Putting emphasis on her anorexia will just make her feel self conscious, hate herself more and reinforce her anorexia.

  • @EmmeBaby15 It is the same approach hospitals take, which got her out of the danger zone. They probably figure it is best to stay with the approach that worked.

  • So it was made in the UK?

  • Yes

  • when was this made?

  • 2000

  • which country was this done it coz the furniture looks so old

  • Brittain

  • do you know if shes okay now? i really would love to see what she looks like now..

  • well it doesnt i KNOW THAT

    BUT some words are similiar

if youve noticed?...i am neither german or a person who talks flemish! but i find it easier to learn german cause the flemish pronounciation is VERY DIFFICULT but i defo. want to learn it someday!;)

  • lol xD

    Dutch sounds way better xD

  • is this in dutch?

..dutch sounds pretty similiar to german

    x3

THANKS SO MUCH for the subs

    you're awesome *kisses(

  • I know German to a high level (not fluent) and reading the subtitles, I can make out what some of it says because some of the words are similar, so I know what you mean.

    =]

  • haha this is dutch :P

  • It's now with subtitles

  • thanks for posting though :):)

  • You're welcome :D

I still haven't found out how to subtitle it.

I don't know the right people for that xD

I'll keep looking around though :)

  • Yay, I've done it!

Well, with part 1, the rest will come soon (today, or tomorrow ;) )

  • all done :D

  • aw i wish this was in english :( ive been wanting to re-watch this for ages. Any way you can put subtitles on it??? xx

  • I've put subtitles on it :D

    Additional parts come soon :D

  • thanks so much you are a legend :)

  • You're welcome :)

  • I do have this in English, however, I am noticing that this verison of it, does have some clips that I dont have on mine. I have to burn or rip the CD onto the computer & i'll upload it soon enough.

Thanks for posting this, I get to see some like uncut clips ~:-)

  • You're welcome.

There's actually still a part missing.

I couldn't get the beginning of the documentary on my compu.

But I know someone who can, so hopefully soon it's complete!

  • goed voor mn spreekbeurt (A)

  • how old is she in this?

  • She is 16.

  • Thank you sOO much for uploading this.

Its so heartbreaking to see her like that, hope she is better. What year was this?

  • This was in 2000. She is better now :)

  • This family has tricks for one another. The parents (and the girl) should at least be honest to one another for her to recover completely.

  • the first five minutes are in english, the poelpe who speak are english but the naration is in dutch

  • Oh yes, you're right.Totally forgot about that ^^

But I do know there isn't a english translation, otherwise I wouldn't have uploaded them. So I have to disappoint you.

But if You know how I can put subtitles in the video, I could try!

  • um check windows movie maker

  • But the the video will become a .wmm file, which you can't do much with, and if I have to convert that again, I don't think here's much of the quality left.

  • hmm, I'm not really the one to ask about subing or translating, if you know poeple that like anime, they might know how to sub/translate..you know

  • the narration isn't english

  • What do you mean? The documentary is in english.

  • Ajb :D
