  • @msSamoanBoy You mad bro?

  • my onw island got down

  • I found up-close footage in japan!!!.

  • how big was the first wave?

  • maybe its time to take GOD seriously people we dont know whats coming

  • So many people way out of line, completely missing the point and full of ignorance, hate and arrogance.. It is almost as sad as what happened there.

  • hahahahaha!

    samoa was a shithole anyway.

  • @Xoxo7668 You better shut the hell up, Samoa is a way better place than America. All the Americans wish they lived in Samoa but they too scared cuz the Samoans will kick your fagetty asses.

  • Just got back from Samoa. Better than America? In what way? The lack of basics, decent medical care, and intense humidity, and corrupt chiefs?

Pretty place (except for American Samoa, which is a dump), but that's about it

  • @CrazyHamo ,ahahaha fuckin fat faggit. samoa is a piece of fuckin trash floating in the south pacific. some of the ugliest and fattest people in the world come from that pathetic country.

fuck samoa, nobody wants to live there.looooooooool.

  • @Xoxo7668 I'm just glad only 100 people died, probably the elderly that couldn't move. Unlike the true Hell Hole (Haiti) over 100,000 people died. Good for them Niggers! And now all these white fags feel sorry for them. Hahaha!

  • Talofa lava Samoa!!

  • thats just sad how that happend

  • how did you escape??

  • There will be a lot of ignornat people on youtube, mind them as most of them are young and not had a good sense of reality yet.

  • and like the video says this is the second wave or the aftermath of the real thing.....The first wave was the real tsunami killer don't you see all the cars and debris all over before the second wave came.......

  • Check out my video of the parking lot where the first wave came in. This one was just salt in the wound of the first one.

  • Boom goes the dynamite

  • To all my Samoan people.....i love you guys....Samoa will get through all the pain and suffering during this tragic times, some of my family went missing, but we've been blessed to find them at shelters, i hope that everyone's families are safe, and god is watching over samoa......god bless SAMOA.....

  • No offense, but I don't understand how die from that. Just don't be stupid and think about what you gotta do to survive.

  • You idoit!

The tsunami came in and crashed and destroyed the island. That isnt the tsunami its the aftermath. The acctually tsunami crushed the villages in a wall of water. id love too see your ass survive a two hundred foot tall wave of water crashing down on you.....No offense.

  • Based on this comment I suggest you go back to science class on Monday and figure out just what a tsunami is. There is no two hundred foot tall wave that crashes down. You might want to watch the video again for what an actual tsunami looks like.

  • dood MiGustaTacoBell, even though

Aerithninja is nasty using the word idiot, he's right about the tsunami. They explained on TV that that video is the second wave, after the first and most destructive wave had already destroyed most of the place. That's why you see so many destroyed cars etc.

  • You do have to admit. These people do provide good intertainment with their statements and spelling. 200 ft waves are good si fi movie waves but think what it would take to create waves of that magnitude. I read and laugh at most comments people leave. I enjoyed reading a comment from someone of taste. Have a great day.

  • My point was not supporting the "200 ft" thing that Aerithninja said, but the idea that the first wave was way bigger and stronger than the second one. Just do a search in youtube for "Tsunami Strikes Parking Lot in American Samoa" and compare to this video and you'll see the big difference.

  • you fucking retard calling him an idiot, you have no clue what the fuck a tsunami even is do you?

  • Ummm how about being fucking Samoan myself and having family wh actually died there!!! I lost so much of my family!!! So yeah i close maybe nasty using the word idiot. But family died......family.......

  • Umm kapaa no offense but the tsunami hit when people were still sleeping, or heading for work, and school children waiting for their bus......This is a tsunami not a fucking minor wave idiot.....

  • RIP MY CUZZIES

  • Peace to all the cuzzies

  • that's scary looking at that... rip, to all those who lost their lives...

  • Stuff that :(

  • bigbruvaluv.... i dont think people are having fun by their death. its just your stereotype. people think this video brings joy because this spectacular natural disaster impresses us in many way, not directly about death. So why you watching? heheh

  • Incredible...

  • why has the death innocent people in a natural disaster bring you joy? this has nothing to do with your dislike of Americans! These are my people, friendly and loving people of Samoa. However you very smart to make such comments behind the safety of your computer because if you say that to a Samoan, we would usually put our humility in the back-pocket and lay the smackdown on your bigotry and inbred ass!!

  • rip to all the precious people that lost their lives....

  • AAA+++

  • hella sad.

  • My heart goes out to all those caught in such devastation god bless those who lost loved ones or those close to them a force of nature with devastating consequences and force

  • u should see the aftermath

  • I never thought a tsunami was like this, i always thought it would be a huge fast moving wave, this just seems like an unbelievably strong current. I dont mean this maliciously or anything or that i was hoping for something spectacular because a lot of people died, its just this has completely changed my perception of a tsunami.

  • have you been living in a bubble? did you never see the boxing day tsunami footage? i always thought it was the same as you did until i saw that

  • Tsunami's are huge fast moving waves generally, this is the second wave not the first which causes so much debris and destruction so the second wave has really just gone over that. Some of its force was probably absored by all the crap floating arouind after the first wave. Don't be fooled though if you were down in that water, you wouldnt have a chance. Btw, have you ever heard of a megatsunami? That'll change your perception for sure.

  • It is a huge moving wave of displaced water which can not be seen from a distance.

  • I read the first wave was much bigger and faster.

  • It was... But I couldnt find any video footage of that one.

  • earth changes 2012, this is happing more & more, it will keep getting worst.

  • ...thats crazy.. it just kept going and going!.. Its easy to see how people could get caught in it and pulled out to sea!.. It moved that truck like it was a toy..

  • This happens in almost all countries without enough infrastructure to build solid safe buildings, and more so if they are at or near sea level. Plenty of wealthy costal areas were damaged in 2004's series of tsunamis so it has nothing to do with money, or god or with anyone's culture or lifestyle.

The comparison with rocks in a cement mixer is just about right, except a mixer doesn't churn in every direction, from top to bottom in an instant. People can be sucked under, even strong people.

  • thats sad

  • earthquakes are chinas fault? americas fault? are you for real?

  • My village of Lepa in Samoa has been totally washed off the island :(

  • There is not much footage like this from anywhere in the world, showing a tsunami wave coming ashore. This is scientifically and historically valuable.

Note the partly submerged water heater at the bottom of the screen at 1:15, followed by the floating refrigerator. And see how easily the wave pushes the battered white pick-up around. If you were caught in this, you might be able to keep yourself above water, but the debris could hurt or kill you even so.

  • Yes, a Tsunami is like being in a cement mixer full of rocks.

  • i know the lady who died from raglan N.Z poor family! love to all those who know someone in this disater.

  • this is how the mother nature teach us or discipline us, one countries fault, the whole universe will suffer. how many more disaster will we wait till we do something?

  • we cant do anything about a earth quake -_-

  • We can create more organized infrastructure

  • So wait mother nature targets a poor nation that doesn't hurt nature at all instead of China or the US. Makes perfect sense.

  • dont worry US is awating the BIG ONE biggest earthquake ever recorded in the history of the earth SAN ANDREAS FAULT

for does ppl that think this kid of stuff only happends in poor countries but it mostly does its true.

  • go to wikipedia and look up what a tsunami is. then tell me which countries are responsible for earthquakes, volcanic eruptions or landslides. i know it's hard to believe, but some disaster just happen cause mother nature is a bitch.

  • man...poor people!

  • good shot. far as I can tell, this is the only footage so far of any water movement.

  • We appreciate you taking the time to post up and let'n us know the after math. It gives us (here in the states) an insight to what Samoa has really went thru. God Bless the People of Samoa, and those whom have to watch their village (nu'u) destroyed from over seas.

  • My Village..Pago Pago..This is behind Pago Plaza and the BINGO hall..I see the Pago park..OMG, GOD bless our people..And please keep them in your prayers..
