I always wondered if Hogan was seriously considering retiring and that's why he did this. It was in 2003 and the last time presumably that he was going to be in the WWE. He had severe knee and hip problems and did not return to wrestling for a whole 2 years, so I wonder if at the time he thought he was done for good. It's said that due to differences with the creative team he left but he's Hogan and Hogan never takes 2 years off of wrestling even though TNA really wanted him at the time.
Finally, I have been looking for this a long time. I was at this SmackDown! and it was a good one. Hulkster doing this brought me back to my childhood.
