This song is true pleasure, and if it hadn't been for CSI, I never would have heard of it. Unfortunately, season 7, which is the season this song is featured in, was the last great season of the show. I mean, season 8 sees Sara quit, Warrick die, and Grissom retires midway through season 9. CSI is not the fantastic show it once was. And this season, look at the credits, there's nobody but a bunch of white folks running the damn lab.  The execs made a series of bad decisions in recent years.

I thought the original was silly when it came out when I was a freshman in high school, and the video with the dayglo cod-piece was even sillier, but this is a GREAT cover! Before I even noticed what song it was when it started playing on CSI I ran to grab my bass and play along to that slow, lazy, syrupy-sweet bass line! And now that I go back and listen again, the original is still silly, but in a good way.

Always liked this song, but this version is just outstanding. Stand up bass, nylon string guitar, a little slide electric toward the end. I believe the girl, and a rather posh sounding English bird at that, is double tracking the vocals. The line "Do your daunce, do your daunce, quick Mama" sort of gives England as the source pretty clearly. Released in late 2005 or early 2006 on an EP in Britain, you may still find it in American Stores, or you may have to live with Mp3 download.
