I think the parades over in America are missing the point. In ireland, parades are about community and actual pride in being Irish as opposed to a fucked up notion of pride and celebration of groundless stereotypes, it's not about spending money on gawdy props and green beer. And here in Ireland, green beer is blasphemy. As well, if you were to give me a pinch for not wearing green, I am more Irish than any non-Irish person, so 1) I would punch you and 2) I have no need to wear green,
Dear Born Again Pagan Celts of the Nomadic Free World, lets celebrate (((March 17th and the 18th))) as (((Celtic Pagan Liberation Day))). On March 17th and on 18th wear all Green if you are Proud to be a Born Again Pagan Celt. Sincerely in the remembrance of The Hill of Tara's Royal Druid Government.
@donnchadh5 yeah, but the difference is that everyone here thinks that they are irish in descent. it's ridiculous. I love the Parties though. gettin sauced with friends is always a good time.
ano some of my mates who hav been to the us say the people stop u and go on how there grandfathers and mothers are from meath then galway everywhere lol even african americans lol obama
Mark, I'm so glad you recorded this and shared it with us! :) Thank you!! I love seeing the festivities and people out enjoying their Irish background! Looks like a great festival!
If it's their culture and heritage, why wouldn't they? Now, I can't understand an Asian of purely Asian heritage celebrating it, but people who have any Irish blood in them should celebrate! :D

@gemtz14
You're right...we shouldn't need a reason. But a reason always helps when you're explaining yourself in the morning.

The population of Americans of Irish descent is almost equal to the population or Ireland itself. So, yes.
