@mrblackopsisgay the chances are good if you really want to. First off would be joing either active air force or air guard. id try and be a crew chief on one first since you have to be an officer to fly. the hardest part will be becoming and officer, if you want to fly the A-10 specifically i'd suggest going guard because you have more choice on what your job is going to be
@DHwalkers thanks a lot ive been wondering where to start and you answered it perfectly. also i'm going to be working towards getting my pilots license soon so would that look good or help when going into and being picked

I live close to martin state air port in md. I get to see these awsome machines quite often. I just love watching these planes fly. and the scream of those fans is music to my ears.
This dudes not flying an A-10......not even close. Since when does the A-10 have swept wings? And where`s the split tail rudders and the over size engines that can easily be seen from this cockpit view ??
The A-10 carries heat seeking air - air missiles to take down SU-25 and helicopters it can also use its gun for air- air but its not got much of a chance agaist modern fighter planes as they have radar guided air - air missiles with 30 - 60 mile range. With F-15, F-16 , F-18 patroling above the A-10 pilot doenst need to worry too much about high altitude aircraft.
@GasMaskCreation Yes, pilots suit automatically fills the leg and lower torso with air when high-G is achieved. This is done in order to prevent and reduce the effect of black out.
I wonder wheter he had to extend speedbrakes to achive 200 degrees per second roll rate as I couldnt see it... I think without 20% extended speedbrakes roll rate is a bit slower...
@szerszen22 You can see the speedbrakes. Look for example beginning of video at vertical roll. Clear speedbrake use. Also in the external view you can see it couple of times.
Ive seen these demos in person and they are GREAT, something I find very interesting personally, you can hear a loud "THUD" as they pull back suddenly from the strafe run, another reason to go watch them live.
My friend also made a comment about how that wasn't an A-10 cockpit and I don't understand. 1. How do you not realize that its a wide angle lens? 2. Basic reasoning should tell you otherwise. a. That's obviously and Air Force pilot due to the helmet, the combat edge mask, and the wings sure aren't navy. That being the case one can conclude that he's flying an Air Force jet. b. What other jet in the Air Force inventory has that level of maneuverability but has a wing chord that short?

Nice action from a Warthog and pretty nice cut but for my opinion the cockpit view isn't the view of an A-10 The engines in the back can't be seen and the shape of the wings are totally wrong. This video shows two different planes.
I can see how you would think that, but that is the A-10 cockpit. The camera lens is very wide and sitting very close to the pilot (Paul Brown) causing it to distort the wings and block the view of the engines. The footage is synced so you can match the action inside and out.
mmh? . . . the 2 videos are quite synchronous and probably the fisheye perspective gave the wings the sweep . . . it's a great performance anyway but also a pity that there is no clear sign, that this is the cockpit of a A-10. So what . . . an A-10 is always an awesome tank-buster. Thanks for posting 8-)
@vectorartist He wasn't literally saying they are two different aircraft. lol He was saying the wide angle lens wasn't the best choice as it's confusing in the camera angle. It looks like you're seeing two different aircraft. A wide angle without the distortion would have been better, failing that just a standard shot in the cockpit.
@labsun have you ever actually been in an A-10 to know this? What makes you an expert. FYI that cockpit View is correct. You don't see the engines from the viewpoint of the camera and the wings get a bit distorted by the camera lens and cockpit. It's the real deal dude.
@Callabris The A-10 is an awesome machine and I have seen her great performance on some airshows but I unfortunately never had the opportunity to be in a A-10 Cockpit, so I can't contradict. But it's hard to believe because of the strange view angle and I would have expected at least to see the rudders. But as I've written before, the A-10 is fantastic and I love her performance! ! !

OmeGa114196 2 months ago
@OmeGa114196 Fisheye lens adds peripheral field of view at the expense of the center of the field. The engines are behind the pilots shoulders.
