If you want raw American muscle-go Hemi: 2011 Hemi Challenger 392: 470 Horsepower, 470 ft-lbs of torque, 500 plus at the flywheel, runs 12.44, and its an adult musclecar-oh, and you can carry passengers.

Put a Boss up against that 392 (They're both hopped up versions of the original car) and it will beat it 9 times out of 10. The challenger is the most original looking of the modern pony cars, but by no means the fastest. What the mustang or camaro lacks in power, the challenger more than makes up for it through sheer weight. Also it gets shit gas mileage. 17 on the highway! You're killing me!

@SeanBallaWaller1 Probably not. Ford started using the induction noise tube in 2010. They added it because drivers felt in the initial testing of the newer body style that the car was too quit.

Just a few months ago, we knocked out a friend's cat and surprisingly, it didn't make the exhaust much louder but it gave us better fuel economy. I think the best way to make your ride louder is to just take off the mufflers... But of course there's emissions testing for most major cities...
Pretty sure this will make your check engine light go on too...I'd rather put aftermarket parts that add performance first, then mess with the sound later.
I tried this but didn't like it much. It sounds really plastic-like. Like I had a tiny mustang with plastic mufflers revving at my feet. I wish they had made the tube out of metal instead. It sounds a little better if you leave the gray plug in but remove the white one, IMO.
This mod IS SAFE, this mod is easily reversed, This mod improves intake sounds within the cabin only. It does not increase hp. Ford plumbed some of the intake into the cabin on the 11 Mustang for pleasing sound effects. This mod further enhances that effect. GEEZE HATERS!! :s

Except, there is some way to make your mustang loud if you you fumble around under the hood and then inside the car somewhere and you take some plugs out of tubes or something. The fact that I understand the video, does not make it good training. I've built complex assemblies, from napkin drawings and polaroid photos. Did that make them good blueprints? I did this! It is very easy and it literally is twice as loud in the cabin. It is soo easy to do and makes such a big difference...plus you can put the foam pieces right back in if you don't like it!

@modelslist That tube was specifically designed by Ford engineers to allow sound to travel to the drivers area inside the car to give the enthusiasts a more direct feel and experience with the mustang. They have been doing it since 2008. Before that year the only engine sound you got if your windows were up was a disconnected distant feeling sound from outside muffled by the glass. This tube changed all that. I wish people would do a LITTLE research before spewing trash on comments.
What is the purpose of taking the white button out from the inside? I just checked in mine, the sound tube is not connected to the white pin. It's connected a little to the left.
@gpdrew14 apparently i was smoking crack. its not the with button there's a grey piece of foam all the way up behind the clutch pedal back in the corner way behind the computers mounted to the kick panel. you really have to work to get at it. (sorry the engineer that showed us this trick pulled it out so i assumed it was that grey button, that's what i get for assuming.) we just filmed a better version of this vid w/ before and after footage.

Might be nice if you could hear the engine at all at the end....no need to burn up the tires. All that does is add more noise and makes the car sound no different than the opening video. Besides, your "mod" would affect exhaust sound from the cabin, not from the outside of the car near the mufflers. Your before and after video should have been shot inside the car (even though I doubt you notice the difference in sound over a video).

ANY regular guy who knows anything about performance knows to do this shit on any car. All cars have some sort of baffling/sound deadening of the motor to make them quiet for the average consumer.

Actually BMW did the same thing with the Z4 a few years back. They channel some of the induction sound into the cabin to give the driver a more visceral experience. You'd be surprised how many car manufacturers do this with their sports car lines. So it not necessarily a "GAY FORD" thing. It just car makers trying to make their car more interesting.

@mikesanto70 by that argument all exhaust is artificial, all manufactures employee teams of engineers to work on the exhaust note or lack there of on any given car or truck. the advantage of a sound induction tube is that you get good noise when you step on the throttle, and you get a quite cabin when you are just cruising. with a loud exhaust you get mega drone at highway speeds. the new mustangs give you the best of both worlds. induction noise for you exhaust note for street presence.

@mikesanto70 we pulled the baffeling out of the tube to bring in more induction noise (the stuff what makes a ferrari sound so sweet) we'll be doing a before and after video when we get a mustang in the fleet. this was a quick video we shot, while try to keep the engineers from seeing what we were doing.
Its the fastest car for the money hands down. Its stop distance numbers and road holding capabilities are pretty impressive too. Its possible that your turboed and motor swapped economy car could beat a stock 5.0 from anything over a 50 roll, but Im not convinced. Real races are from digs, and your crx honda is slower than a new GT. Fwd economy cars on 205 street tires will not hook on this planet.
The is alot more sound deading material in the modern cars than in the old cars, so they designed it for those who would like to hear their drive train bellowing in the cabin
The whole idea of a sound induction tube on a Mustang is just silly. Seriously, why would a V8 car need sounds pumped into the passenger compartment in the first place? That's something that the guys in the little 4-bangers like to do.

The fact that I understand the video, does not make it good training. I've built complex assemblies, from napkin drawings and polaroid photos. Did that make them good blueprints? You can train some newbie, who doesn't know a screw diver from a butter knife, with a well made video. I understand the video fine. It still sucks!

All there doing is taking foam form both ends of the hose line and helping air travel better, but nothing really that all great when the job is done. I just fininshed doing it to my 5.0 and i dont know alot about cars so anyone can do it and it wont fuck anything up, jus stay away from the wires and the only thing u should b removing is a Yellow and Gray peices of from. It only takes one min of actually work. Over all not that great.

I did this! It is very easy and it literally is twice as loud in the cabin. It is soo easy to do and makes such a big difference...plus you can put the foam pieces right back in if you don't like it!

@modelslist That tube was specifically designed by Ford engineers to allow sound to travel to the drivers area inside the car to give the enthusiasts a more direct feel and experience with the mustang. They have been doing it since 2008. Before that year the only engine sound you got if your windows were up was a disconnected distant feeling sound from outside muffled by the glass. This tube changed all that. I wish people would do a LITTLE research before spewing trash on comments.

What is the purpose of taking the white button out from the inside? I just checked in mine, the sound tube is not connected to the white pin. It's connected a little to the left.

@gpdrew14 apparently i was smoking crack. its not the with button there's a grey piece of foam all the way up behind the clutch pedal back in the corner way behind the computers mounted to the kick panel. you really have to work to get at it. (sorry the engineer that showed us this trick pulled it out so i assumed it was that grey button, that's what i get for assuming.) we just filmed a better version of this vid w/ before and after footage.

Might be nice if you could hear the engine at all at the end....no need to burn up the tires. All that does is add more noise and makes the car sound no different than the opening video. Besides, your "mod" would affect exhaust sound from the cabin, not from the outside of the car near the mufflers. Your before and after video should have been shot inside the car (even though I doubt you notice the difference in sound over a video).

@clocke89 this was a quick vid done at the media drive for the new mustang. we've just finished shooting our full on review video with the 5.0 we had this week in the media fleet rotation so we took the time to film a much better how to video with a before and after shots of the in cabin noise. you can tell the difference even in the video. once i get the video edited down i'll post it here. so subscribe to us if you haven't already so you can see the difference this mod makes. it's night & day

Actually BMW did the same thing with the Z4 a few years back. They channel some of the induction sound into the cabin to give the driver a more visceral experience. You'd be surprised how many car manufacturers do this with their sports car lines. So it not necessarily a "GAY FORD" thing. It just car makers trying to make their car more interesting.

@mikesanto70 by that argument all exhaust is artificial, all manufactures employee teams of engineers to work on the exhaust note or lack there of on any given car or truck. the advantage of a sound induction tube is that you get good noise when you step on the throttle, and you get a quite cabin when you are just cruising. with a loud exhaust you get mega drone at highway speeds. the new mustangs give you the best of both worlds. induction noise for you exhaust note for street presence.

@mikesanto70 we pulled the baffeling out of the tube to bring in more induction noise (the stuff what makes a ferrari sound so sweet) we'll be doing a before and after video when we get a mustang in the fleet. this was a quick video we shot, while try to keep the engineers from seeing what we were doing.

Its the fastest car for the money hands down. Its stop distance numbers and road holding capabilities are pretty impressive too. Its possible that your turboed and motor swapped economy car could beat a stock 5.0 from anything over a 50 roll, but Im not convinced. Real races are from digs, and your crx honda is slower than a new GT. Fwd economy cars on 205 street tires will not hook on this planet.
