I am from New Zealand and we are so far from the prophet and those who lead the church here on earth but I feel so close to Heavenly Father and my understanding and faith in Jesus Christ grows slowly.....I understand your reasoning but I need to say that the guidance of the leadership of the church finds it difficult to talk about the evils of the world in depth and encourages us to only seek the treasurers of the lord, yet we learn in depth the confines of hell.
Thank you for doing these videos. Helpful in understanding the challenges so many straight folks go through inside the church around this issue and the potential for them to develop and understand further. Also helpful in sorting through the inner muck that seems inevitable around all these issues. Glad this set of videos and others are out there and growing.
Thanks, John, for this interview. Now I see why you hold this man in such esteem. He, like you are very thoughtful and authentic. However, I stand all amazed (excuse the play on words) that you and he continue to believe in an organization which claims to be the "only true church" and then can treat its members so poorly. Would Jesus have campaigned for Prop 8? I am also amazed that he stayed at BYU for as long as he did. In a way he is like his son as he was persecuted for truth telling.
I love everything about this man. I hope he knows how many people he touches by giving such a frank and heartfelt interview. His faith, love, charity, intellect and humanness are enviable and I am a better person after hearing his story. The church should hire this man to work with headquarters concerning the homosexual issues we are facing right now in Mormondom.
This is the type of person that makes me proud of my heritage, and I wish there were more like him.
What a magnificent man and a wonderful interview. Many thanks for all the great Mormon Stories. I've enjoyed all. This comes from one who left the church more than 45 years ago. IMHO, this site stands alone as the best representative the LDS have on You Tube. Everything else is either sugary, 110% pro or the opposite con. I think, if the church were true, there would be many Prof. Bradshaws among the general authorities. Anyway, I look forward to future stories and thank you very much.
