Back in 2002 I went through Swift in Sparks, NV to get my CDL and trained out at Desert Truck Driving School. I paid Swift $1,250 cash up front and had a room all to myself during my training. Again, jacking up the price to nearly $4000 is robbing a driver blind because you don't make that much back in one month and your pay is not steady running general freight. Purely promotional and not really telling others how it really is starting out or how the industry can blackball you.

My son went to there school and when I seen how they do there training I understand why there is so many posts about how shitty Swift is and you will probably have a hard getting a job with another company when you tell them you were trained and drove for them

man, i like the vid. but seriously man, this school was a rip off, i give them credit on getting your cdl cause i got it. but reality is they just push u thru quickly and make $3,900. and dont train you how to alley dock witch is very important. idk about your class? but all we did was straight line back and how to parell park and thats it. and it really fucks u. cause the swift mentors. abouts 95% of them, just want u to drive so they can make money off you. and sleep all the time.

Take my advice and get an education folks. No one deserves to be treated as badly as truckers, especially SWIFT truckers are treated. In the case of SWIFT truckers, they deserve it. The rest of the truck drivers out there deserve to be treated like human beings. It wont happen as long as you stay in the industry. Just ask a Knight Transportation driver.

to any new drivers, there is no reason to being going into $3000+ in debt with Swift Driving academy. Find the cheapest trucking school available and finance the tuition yourself. Keep your options open and don't get suckered into Swift or any other general freight company. Big Cat you are obviously not as experienced as I have been and have not seen what I have working for Swift so I wouldn't give Swift any high ratings.

I just got my CDL through a sage program. Problem is my record. A few felonies. Last one in 10/2000 and a mistermina in 05. Parole won't let me go on the road, any job that I have to stay out of state over night. Good thing is I max in Jan, 2010 but till then I need to get some experience cuz I'm fresh out of school and you know how that is. I need all the help I can get. Can you put me down with any info at all. I really appreciate anything you can do for me. I couldn't get the hazmat

Once I'm in to tell them I've changed my mind about buying the truck but now I can keep the job. What do you think about that?
