Yeah Rick seemed to have a huge ego whereas Jason seems a bit more down to earth, especially now , although I am sure JD got a bit above himself with the gay thing in the mags many years back?
The tom sounds on this track are from a Korg rather than Roland as per usual. The M1 had just come out when this was recorded. Most of the stuff on Ten Good Reasons was single worthy, and almost all of it better than the singles from Between The Lines.
Personally I would have LOVED a Rick Astley version of You Can Depend On Me, which I presume was a left-over from a previous session, as lyrically it's very Rick. As with so much in music though, big egos spoiled it :(
