I have a question for you.. out of the se.5a, the parkzone sukhoi, and the blade MCX, which do you think is the most fun, and which do you fly the most? I have about 100 dollars burning a hole in my pocket and I am looking to add another plane to the fleet.
The S.E.5a wasn't mine so that's out. I used to fly the MCX a lot but working on other things lately. The sukhoi is great but needs some space outside, have you seen my MCX and Sukhoi vids?
Get a proper trainer, this thing is very easy to fly but it's complex to put together and difficult to repair in the event of a crash. You want something much less fragile for first plane.
Great flying! I always hate it when you watch an RC video and they guy is flying it way out over the field and at high altitude. Great to see lots of close-in, low-altitude flying. That's how it should be anyway!
Yeah the quality of some of the high-hit RC videos on here is appalling. If you liked that you might want to check out some of my other vids like the GWS Tiger moth, Vapor Biplane and a few others.
Thanks for stopping by and the kind words. Hope to hear from you again!
I started flying about 9 years ago, and flew for about 3 years with gas planes. Then got out of it until this past summer and got into electric models. Now have a Parkzone Cub and P-51 Mustang. Looking into getting the E-Flite S.E.5a and this video has gone a long way towards convincing me to make the purchase!
That seems a bit on the small size. The prop on this one seemed a bit larger, Outrunners have a lower Kv than inrunners so they can swing props that are deceptively large.
I understand that they have the ability to swing a large prop for their size. For instance I recently just for kicks put a 9x7 on my S.E. 5 and on half throttle it could achieve takeoff. The only problem is with so much torque it actually pulled my motor out of place. I'm guessing an 7 or 8 inch prop would achieve best results for this model.

What size prop are you using on your 2200kV motor? Speed reduction?
threekrows 2 years ago
It's direct drive, I think it was a 9x6? The airplane isn't ours.

ive been reading in some forums about the wings folding up when doing loops and stall turns with this model ever happend to anyone?

I flew mine for its maiden flight just a couple of days. Sweet! I made even use it for a trainer. Much easier to fly than the Parkzone cub.

Yeah, this and the GWS tiger moth are very easy flying planes.

what kind of prop do you find the best? I have been using apc 6x5 and it almost seems underpowered. (I have the exact setup you have)

Hmm talked to someone else he uses a 6X3, seems to work for him. How many amps are you pulling down with a 6X5?
ssgtakeo 3 years ago
Well it said in the instructions that I received with my E flite 250 motor that it has the ability to swing up to an 8x6 prop.
paintballplayer77 3 years ago
LOL 8" prop might actually look more scale.

Jolly good, looking forward to seeing the video

Why wouldn't it be able to? It has a higher power/weight ratio than the real deal. The real airplane could perform most real air combat maneuvers.
ssgtakeo 3 years ago
Thats a nice looking plane and great flying. Thanks for sharing and 5 stars.
