THE NEW ERA IN AVIATION STARTED in ISRAEL with 1st-EVER flight of Stealth, Tailless 3D Vectoring [STV]. (5/18/1987 Av. Week). Facebook video ["Benjamin Gal-Or"] explains STV-based Super-Kill-Ratio, Extra TO/L-safety (Civil & military) gained by STV, thereby ending dominance of common stall/spin dangerous aero-control. F-35 & F-22 exploit only part of STV potential [tailless= better stealth, reduced drag/structure/weight/fuel). X44 MANTA, X47b, X-48b,c, RQ170, T50, NGB, FB22, X-727.

Fair enough I suppose. Some basic stats have been revealed, and is very impressive in all areas, avionics and radar are top notch. I'd expect it to exhibit the same level of innovation as previous generations, should be great.
Anway, this is an awsome video. Thanks for sharing! Always been a fan of su-27 family than their US counterparts.
And people, by the way, stop the freaking immature "my dad is better than your dad" arguement! US had the money, so they put more into their technologies research, and the result is more advanced tech, so what? That does NOT mean Russian tech sucks. You don't have to turn a blind eye to history just because you're biased about your country.
The US already achieved 360% thrust vector with their f-16 VISTA back in the early 90's. Russia didn't fly its first 360% thrust vectoring engine in 2008. The reason why people so familiar with Russian thrust vector and not US: marketing. US did it for research purpose, Russia did it for selling purpose, so a lot of marketing went in there.
BULLSHIT!!! the first Russian jet with 360 TVC was MIG-29 that produced un the 7X years after 20 years that US says that the TVC engine is a peace of shit in the 80-90 they spend millions of dollars to build they 180 TVC engine for the F-22 raptor
Go educate yourself shithead, and stop hilmiliate yourself by showing off your ignorance! The thrust vectoring engine was added later into the mig-29, dumbass. They did once in 1995 or so, unsuccessful, all the way until 2006. The US built it into f-16 and f-18 in late 80's to early 90's. This is fact, it's your choice to choose to be ignorant and deny historical facts, but prapared to get laughed at.

They didn't think 3D TVC was "shit", just that it didn't increase performance enough for the cost to install it on F-16 and F-15's. And for the record, NASA tested 3D TVC on the F-16 in the early 90's.
This plane is capable of knock out a f-16 before he notice in radar.... and has rear missile, interesting no? You think Russians are sleeping? cmon(...)
People! in the age of full sphere air to air missile who give a fuck about vector thrust ! you dont have to be behind the target to shoot it down, you may as well be in front of the target and still take it down...
I read comments by the Sukhoi fanboys everywhere that "The F-22 only has 2D-TVC, some Sukhois have 3D-TVC, so therefore the sukhoi is superior blah blah blah etc".... but I am wondering, does it really even matter? Does a 3D nozzle offer that much of a maneuvering ability over a 2D nozzle? or any at all?
Also, to add, why exactly does the F-22 have a 2D-TVC and not a 3D? So, far, I have come up with:
Also, to add, why exactly does the F-22 have a 2D nozzle and not a 3D one? So, far, I have come up with:
1) It was not a requirement for the ATF project
2) The technology was too new at the time in the late 1980's for the YF-22
and
3) The 2D nozzle design is stealthier. The F-22's 2D-TVC system works in such a way that it creates a much lower IR signature by cycling exhaust gases back over the tail of the jet and down into slots above the engines. This would not be possible with a 3D TV design.
The F-22 is designed the way it is for stealth at the cost of manueverablity. I like the F-22, but I would feel safer in a dogfight in a modern sukhoi or mig. Plus they are more fun to fly. Not that I've ever flown in one :<
The F-22 have a good manuverability too,you can't compare a MiG-29OVT with a f-22, this MiG-29OVT don't pass of a MiG-29 with 3D trusth vectoring,in avionics and technology the USAF is 10 years to the front,comparisons as this don't make sense :/
That's true, you can't compare a mig-29 with an f-22 but an su-30 or su-35 has better manueverability. maby even the su-27. The f-22 doesn't even have canards which gives the su's the advantage.
F-22 can sustain a 9g turn at speeds above mach 1. The next closest is the Eurofightet at 7.8g, then the Su-35 at 7.2g's. However the su-35 does have a slightly faster roll rate at speeds around 400 kts. Dog fights are unlikely these days, f-22 would have little if no resistance to any current fighter.
F-22 appeared suddenly. Quickly passed above the field of the air field, sharply, "ñâå÷îé", went away in sky, hung up on a second and became "ïàäàòü", as well as our Su-30 during model flights. But in place of the showy loosening from a side aside, as if "ëèñò on vetru", as it does the Russian destroyer,
"Õèùíèê" broke away in a cork-screw, included forcing and took off from the area of visibility of audience. Returning in sight was marked brandname "ñóõîâñêîé" by a piece is an acceleration and braking of fuselage all plane ...
F-22 has rather primitive vectoring - only 1 axis and both of engines work together. New Su-35, like Mig-29OVT and Mig-35 has 3D trust vectoring with independent control for each engine.
That's true, but due to its control surfaces, the F-22 can rotate 360 degrees so there was no real need for a multi-axis thrust vector system. Especially at the cost of rasing IR signature.
Last comment. Dogfight F-22A vs Su-37: F-22A WINS!
Dogfight F-22A+ vs Su-35BM: ????
I DO think that the S-117 engine really fixed the main disadvantage of the Flanker and thrusted it in a whole new era. It propably has the potential to throw the Raptor off the skyes after close quarter fight, yet I think that is yet to be seen... Soon we'll know...
yet in light of true dogfights the Raptor's better thrust to weight ratio and generally its lighter weight, gives it better energy-conservating maneuvering which is the real critical factor for aerial combat in general (and especially in close quarter combat)....
I do believe that the aerodynamic design of the Flanker family is more sophisticated than the fugly (for stealth purposes) Raptor and its acrobatic skills are far more impressive (mainly for show-off purposes),and I am a fan of the flanker...
Yeah yeah I know... The never-ending cold war between the soviet-aircraft- demonstrations lovers end proud patriotic former USSR citizens VS the Yankee we-do-the-best-kick-ass-warmachines and their militaristic letta-blast-the-fokkin-commies-back-to-the-stone-age symbiots...
As I consider myself an objective third-point observer, being an inhabitant of Greece let me give a more creditful opinion...
Mig29, what plane is that in your profile picture?.. i remember having a model of that as a kid.. I really need to know im having flashbacks wow!.. thanks.

DINDRAGON 3 years ago
yet in light of true dogfights the Raptor's better thrust to weight ratio and generally its lighter weight, gives it better energy-conservating maneuvering which is the real critical factor for aerial combat in general (and especially in close quarter combat)....

This new su-35 cant be more maneuverable than the mig-29ovt can it?

I think if a tech-equivalent to the
Su-35BM's S-117 engine
is installed to the new Fulcrum
it will most propably have a better TTW ratio and being of similar design with the really heavier Flanker it will most propably be quite more agile.

Thrust vectoring is so awesome. I really don't like this plane though. Nothing beats the F-35 and F-22. Go American made fighters!

The F-22 and F-35 will be beaten eventually. Thats how technology works.

Like by RD-33MK but with more thrust and some 5th gen. stuffing.
