haha damn right with the inova sticks. i do soemthing a little different. i cut of the ends of a glowstick tube. cut little slits on both sides. slide the Inova light in and hot glue around it. its solid and more permanent. Bad part is if you abuse them to much and hit shit they tend to turn off even with the slightest hit. =]

these aren't inovas actualy haha. it's a custom LED made with 3 LEDs strung inside of the stick down a line.

oh and to answer the original question; you can't buy glowsticks that turn on and off. you have to custom fit LEDs into a hollowed out glowstick casing. You can buy LED sticks online but the quality, durability, and balance is always really poor. The only notable exception would be flowtoys, but those are extremely pricy.

anyways, yea putting inovas into hollowed out sticks is pretty common. just out of curiosity, how did you put yours in?

I used a heat gun to extrude the hollow glow stick to fit perfectly around the innova. Then i cut the inova in half (hot dog ways) and it fits over it perfectly like a shell :)

yeah but you can't spin flowlights like glowsticks. they are too heavy and you are limited to certain things with flowtoys. They are more fun for actual poi rather than glowstringing.

what kind of shoelaces do you use for strings (if that it what you use) and how do you hold them. I use medium thickness flat ones, but they are only long enough to pinch with my index finger and thumb, so i can throw traces and catches easily.
