  • amazing car! if you took the song off you wouldnt have got 1 dislike.. i give that car a perfect 10 though beautiful

  • what set up does he have cause i need some tips on setting up my turbo for my firebird

  • @TurboTiger09 There is a bolt on kit from Cartuning.ca best option as far as the V6 Fbodies go.

  • i want my v6 like this.. wat is the web to get the headers and cam....

  • I have a v6 bird too and that is my idol.

  • 3800 FTW!!!

  • I felt bad for that car you let get a head start... must make him feel really bad about his car... dick move, AND your CAR IS A BEAST! Props for making a v6 that fast. I love how you can turn off the boost for DD then turn it up for a little race ; )

  • full throttle performance has all the engine internals u need

  • i want my v6 to sound like that :(

  • And the V8 boys want to rip on a V6....point in case, you can do some shit with a V6. I'm a fan of a fast car period, as long as it doesnt look and sound like a fucking lawn mower (civic)

  • you are one lucky S.O.B., That must be nice Letting people get 3/4 down the track and then you go and just pass them up like nothing I thought my Camaro doing low 12's was fast Even earned my name as slingshot but you, you are something else.

  • what about zzps gp?

  • Tim King is the man and when it comes to 4T65 transmissions he's a god.

  • Race weight with me in it was over 3100

  • zzp built a grand prix with a series ii 3800 with only ~785 hp~ that ran a 8.65 and it was FWD

  • @KillaPontiac but that grand prix is completely stripped of everything, and its got so much power it needs wheely bars to shift weight to the front haulin that ass

  • That's a bad bitch. Congrats!

  • I have a 3.4 bird and i want a turbo but cant find one help.

  • Mine was high Milage, but it's the block that I'm referring to, I broke a connecting rod and the block was just fine. I rebuilt a new one with new block, cam, crank, valves, pistons, and rods.

  • Gotta love that 3.8. i just replaced mine in my 99 camaro, and they are some tough engines that can handle more than expected.

  • @tonyfino If they can handle more then expected, why did you have to replace it? I'm just wondering....

  • @getoffmeluckycharms my guess is he/she ragged on the engine pretty hard, i know i was suprised when my 3.1 lasted as long as it did because it was hot rodded pretty well every day i drove it, but now i have a different 3.1 $1227.23 later im pretty dam nice to the new one lol

  • @alex22192 lol i was just giving shit :D I've got a 3800 supercharged in my car and it is pretty bulletproof. I know those engines can take a lot, but you really have to be doing something god awful to blow one of them!!

  • Gotta love that 3.8. i just repaced mine in my 99 camaro, and they are some tough engines that can handle more than expected.

  • No one would ever belive it is a v6 with at speed and how it sounds.

  • Thanks for the feedback on this car, it was a blast to build and drive.

  • @tking0007 bs

  • @rippinsurfer7118 what's bs?

  • @tking0007 lol i was saying bull shit, but it could be true idk

  • How did you start in building that MONSTER. I have a 01 3.8 putting out around 275 HP and im tired of all these Z28 bearly beating. I only wish my firebird was like yours

  • I drove this car this fall! It's a bad ass car, I also know the driver and builder of the car. Awesome guy...but this car is sick in person. you should hear it on the dyno!

  • I got respect for that guy that built that car

  • Please stop ruining good car sounds with crappy music. K, thanks.

  • Impressive car, terrible music.

  • cool i may try to do my firebird like that it has a 3800 in it to :) but what the name of the turbo kit you put in it ?

  • i have a 98 firebird 3.8 too. what do i need to add turbo? and how much it cost? btw great video. but can't hear the car though

  • @zenaku85 sell your car and buy an ls1, add some bolt ons and you will be waxin turbo v6's..this v6 is obviously fully built for racing, every turbo v6 or s/c v6 ive seen has been from 320 hp to 370 hp, a z28 ls1 with full bolt ons could easily hit 360 for a lot less money

  • @zenaku85 you would be spending anywhere from 4k DIY to 7k for a good turbo build, you could buy an ls1 f-body alone with that, and then the money you would get from selling your car could literally full bolt ons, with an ls1, you would be lookin at 350-400 hp with full bolt ons

  • i have a 98 firebird 3.8 too. what do i need to add turbo? and how much it cost?

  • damn man that fucker is fast, too bad firebirds are built like shit tho.

  • I have a 3.8 V6 Firebird. Every time someone hates on it, I show them this video. Thank you!

  • Holy crap! I dont know why unless you just wanted to be unique but DAMN you have a badass 6 banger bird!

  • i laugh at the people who don't think these are muscle cars.

  • @bjsniffitproductions theyre sports cars i own one myself. if anything, this is a tuner.

  • @slimguy379 ewww dont give firebird a bad name calling it a tuner

  • Turbo 6 power!

  • Music sucked. let me hear the car

  • Absolutely amazing . I have a 3.8 Firebird too , Magnaflow exhaust and Intake . Smokes every v6 in sight . Lol =)

  • @diannexo11 Hey I'll try your v6 against my v6, 03 SSEi, gutted airbox w drop in K&N filter, 3" off road down pipe, no cat, O2 simulator. ;)

  • @GMisurdaddy you state those mods as if they are some big accomplishment... all you have is an "intake" with a down pipe. with your extra weight being an SSEI, I bet if diannexo11's firebird is a manual and he can drive, you might have a hard time winning.

Here is a decent mod list for a 3800: XP cam, 65lb injectors, 2.8 pulley, E85, Pacesetters, full 3in exhaust, ZZP billet TB, ported SC, rebuilt trans with 3.29s and hardened parts, and tuned of course. care to guess who's list that is?

  • @arent 3.75 or what ever are in the ls1's better then 3.29?

  • @FireChi9954 depends on how your car is set up and what trans you have. For a GTP or a car with the 3800 S/C motor, 3.29 gears are probably the best all around gear, but for a LS1 car, a 3.73 is a good gear.

  • @lurch1489 well just to ask.....i have a 96 firebird auto v6 what would be cheap easy mods to boost the hp for the hell of it for temp not looking to much money since i am joining the military and looking to drop a bigger engine in :) but i like it for a toy for now lol

  • @FireChi9954 Well the best way to go if you just want some cheap easy power, I would get an intake, headers and exhaust, change the rear end gear, and get a tune. should be good for a nice bump in power without breaking the bank.

  • @lurch1489 i got flow masters already added catless came that way....not true duals tho. is there a ram air for a 3.8?

  • @FireChi9954 No, you can do a free ram air mod though, but you wont get more than 1-2 crank hp and it just makes your engine compartment. Best mod for intake is a whisper lid and then pacestter headers with true duals.

  • @FireChi9954 No, you can do a free ram air mod though, but you wont get more than 1-2 crank hp and it just makes your engine compartment. Best mod for intake is a whisper lid and then pacestter headers with true duals. get a yankss3600 stall with 3.73's in the back and then get a good tune, should put you around 240+ to the wheels

  • @FireChi9954 Stall, gears and intake. All of those will work when you get the new car. Make sure to get a tranny cooler if you stall it. then pacesetter headers and true duals, the true duals will work with anything lsx i.e.ls1, ls3 etc. lq4 lq9. intake wont carry over though

  • @lurch1489 Well I know it's not diannexos11's list of mods and I also know I have beat way too many cars that my SSEi shouldn't have beat. watch my video and you will see my car hit 60 in about 6.4 sec...and that was BEFORE the off road DP and no cat. I am fairly confident I could take that bird...easy.

  • @GMisurdaddy I would be willing to bet it would be as easy as you think. like I said, if its a manual and he can drive, it would be close but you should still win.

  • Respond to this video... i have a 99 firebird ,what do i start with to make my car have more horsepower.

  • Thank you for this

  • ghcytck

  • nice car man thats koo i cant believe its a v6 and engine must be goooooooooddddd u guys gave that car a beating lol good stuff

  • fastest car in 87 was a v6. Yep, 3.8L in a BUICK no less.

  • Car rocks! Music sucks!

  • holy fucking v6. so tell me how much it cost to do the engine build on it just out of curiosity cuz im buildin a 3.8 right now to replace the 3.1 that just blew up in my 99 lumina.(yes i know its a lumina but im going for the sleeper theme) and i kinda wanted to do alittle work on it like headers intake ya know but yours has to be all out

  • wow is all i can say about your car..that shit is wicked..

like that motor is lovely man...

i like how you let them take off first and still win...lol

  • The music is awful.

  • anyone who bitches about v6s being slow and "shoulda got a ls1" needs to watch this video, I have a v8 86 camaro as well as a 97 3.8 firebird and im sick of these idiots sayin "its a waste of money to mod a v6" SHUT UP, WATCH THIS VIDEO, AND GROW A SET LIKE INTENSE RACING DID!!! GREAT JOB GUYS!!!

  • makes me wanna put turbo in my firebird '98 too ^_^

  • wish the music was turned OFF

  • can i do all that with a grand turbo? and what ever mods need to be to stablize it? im not t rying to run crazi psi

    just a power booster

  • can i add a turbo or super charger to a 98 firebird 3.8l?

  • The video say 3.8L v6 turbo. So yeah and many ppl have done this b4.

  • yes

  • can i just bolt it on or do i need mods?

  • @hallal55 depending on what kind of psi you want to run im not positive but i think anything below 6 psi is reasonably safe for completly stock dont qoute me though

  • @Draganeyes would you reccomend the general GM supercharger or a turbo running 6PSI

if i wnated about 14psi dual turbo

what would i need to change in the car??

    thanks!

  • @hallal55 i honostly dont know a whole lot about turbos ive just been looking around on some fourms and seeing what everyone was talking about, just do some looking on google and ull get more input and you can see what other people have been doing

  • u would need some way of tuning it either way u go...turbo would give u most power over all but harder out of the 2 to use right without the risk of killing your car. SC's are kinda like a bolt on and simple, they make power by taking power...kinda like a leech affect but giving u a good gain. out of the 2 id love a SC on my chevy c10, i just always have liked the wine of them more then the blowing sound of a turbo....but a 3.8 u should go turbo in from my view, most power can be made that way

  • whats with the parachute it wasn't used in any of the runs? is it just mandated you must have one or what?

  • yep

  • Bad v6.

  • I wonder if he has a Y87 package. Most likely cause he looked like he had posi traction. This shows you that anything is possible.

  • dude theres nothing stock about that car anymore.

  • No shit man. I was just wondering if he had the Y87 package or if he converted his differential. To one of the V8s

  • no thats probably a spool or some sort of locking differential. Stock diff would have destroyed itself coming out of the burnout box with that much power.

  • Because I'm sure the stock 10 bolt would hold up to that power lol...

  • I think you have the wrong person.

  • What is the song please

  • @kalabshah The most annoying song in the world.

  • kanye west stronger

  • Twin turboz? Dats nothin. guys runnin faster than dat with single turbos.

  • your stupid put a single turbo on a ls1 and you will never run 8 s john force runs 4.50s in a funny car . no your game before you talk lame a twin turbo ls1 might make 8 s

  • That's one helluva car you've got there! What mods have you done?

  • yea you don't know anything jackcotton,,, having owned a 3.8 v6 camaro i can tell that's def a 3.8

  • Uh.... Can you hear? The 5.7L in a Firebird DOES NOT sound like that.... I got a 2000 Camaro 3.8L V-6 in my garage right next to a 1994 5.7L Trans Am. And obviously, you know jack shit. That's definitely a 3.8.

  • @crazzzyDoc Having both 3.8 and 5.7 F-bodies, thats brilliant, that way you'll know both cars in and out with both types of engines, even me im trying to get a 5.7 F-body. buuut the main question is, can iz borrowz your trans am? :P

  • Oh, and look at 3:42, Blind too I guess?

  • that's one fast fuckin v6

  • very impressive

  • God damn! your my hero too :D keep up the good work

  • Get rid of that musak!

  • u are my hero love it dude i got a 2000 bird with a 3800 and i m going turbo down right nasty

  • your opponents were fast BUT compared with that bird - their acceleration look like the ones from a family van! lol!

AND the bird look better than all that other cars on the track... so you won twice ;)

    HOT RIDE!

  • what the difference between an lt1 and ls1?

  • LS1 is Gen III Block, Totally different from LT1 (GenII). LS style motors have been around since 97. LT1's were xtremely short lived, Gen I's actually outlived the Gen II motor

  • aloooot, itd be easier to list how they are similar

  • thats a warning to all those rice burners out there that all think american cars need a chunky V8 to go fast.... that video showed that idea to be very untrue....my friends buick with a L67 gets 32mpg so not bad gas mileage at all...damn good job on the V6 i plan on swapping one into my fiero someday

  • man i wish my turbo Firebird ran 8's im still stuck in the 13's

  • wow you have a turbo in your firebird? have you beaten mustang gt 5.0 or z28?

  • a 5.0 yes very easily ive dont it with full bolt ons back in high school, and a z28 i havent tried yet maybe a lt1 but no ls1 my dads trans am still gets me by a car and a half

  • what a friggin beast. I swear i jizz everytime it gets halfway down the track and the motor roars.

  • dangggg... I wish my stock ran like that hahaha i wish i had money put some turbos in my car but im only fifteen and cant drive yet ahahah

  • that is pretty damn GOOD !

How Long did you have it running Like that ?

    did it Blow up.. .

Just wonderin how much of that kind of Boost can these 3.8 V-6's Take

  • No he never blew anything. He did parted the car and sold it's parts separately.

    He was running 28-30psi.

  • How could you bring yourself to part such a beauty?

  • 860 HP????

  • this thing has TWO turbos if you look at 3:42

  • thats the hottest v6 i seen yet, much love to da 6's out there doin they thang

  • You know Tim King's 8 sec. Firebird V6 that you see up there put's out 860 rwhp at 28psi.

V8 has a lot more potential than V6, just as V10 has more than V8 and so on, but it's always awesome to see a smaller engine do better.

Our Fieros are a lot lighter than this Bird, but we're not up there yet in rwhp. We have issues right now. Same thing with our LSX.

  • im taking a wild guess that that isnt the stock six?

  • no shit

  • i mean the engine, it says its a 3.8 liter, the size of the factory engine, i meant is that the same 3800, or a different block

  • fuck yeah! the 3.8 motors have sooo much potential. boost! lol

  • 600hp stock...No.

Check out Hemmings Rods and Performance Jan. 2003 #15 pg. 22-28

It talks about the history of Buick's 3.8. It talks about how strong it is and what the weak points are on GN, Xbody, and Fbody.

Ofcourse I'm more into Fiero. And in our Forum our GTP engines are doing low 10 sec. So far we are beating turbocharged LSX and other V8's both in drag racing and AutoX.

  • The 3.8 l36 is pretty strong engine.

It's head flows better than a GN's 3.8. The performance potential is there. If you go to CV6 . com you'll see some of the members are only a tick away from a 10 sec. A member by the name of Linx put down over 600rwhp and Turbo V6 at 558 rwhp at 16-18 psi.

  • Don't forget that's a Buick GN root engine. The only weak point on the 3800 are pistons and piston rings.

LS1 in the 10 sec. range still needs it's engine built for it. While GN 3.8 engine doesn't.

  • wow! how many v6s can pull the fronts off the ground? that's crazy

  • @svenonline5 not counting the turbo V6 3800s in the GNs and the TTA and the turbo 4.3 in the Typhon and Syclones, ima go with none lol

  • song????????

  • stronger- kanye west

  • thanks =D

  • ZZP's car uses a L67, not an L36 that is, a GTP engine not a GT engine. I think intenses car uses one of their own built race blocks. 3800's can handle tons of boost, way more than the 16-18 psi someone listed. ZZP's TTGT is currently running about 26 psi. The stock bottom ends are good for more horsepower than anyone will ever get out of them if tuned correctly. An L36 would probably work, but with a turbo setup lower compression is better because u can run more boost.

  • is the l67 already supercharged? and then the guy added twin turbos on top of that?

  • AWSOME I have an 2002 3.8 and this gives me hope for it! great job. great car. great vid =)

  • Good job on the car,

you must have been sleepy at 1:20

    Green means go!!!!

  • He's not worrying about RT, only ET...

  • Awesome!

  • Would love to see this turbo firebird go up against a well modified '89 Turbo Trans Am

  • zzp's grand prix would be a good race to see how much of a diference rwd makes.

  • my buddys grand prix was tuned by zzp, fast as hell.

  • how much pressure can a L67 handle?

  • Depends...with MSL Head Gaskets anywhere from about 16-18 PSI stock. It's the tranny you gotta worry about...haha

Bottom ends are good for 900+ STOCK

  • no shit right?

  • Yup, I beleive ZZp's TT GT is running a stock GT bottom end.

  • They are running a stock L67 or L32 bottom end.

  • L36 I believe.

  • Yeah but for a daily drive you dont want to go above 10pounds.

  • I know someone who is running 22lbs on a stock engine. It has over 200k miles on it too. It's all about how you set it up and how well the vehicle is maintained

  • Known about Intense for some time now.

Tim, congrats man, 5 years ago 810 WHP would have been the biggest joke on CGP ever... Now its a reality, right on gang.

  • Well thats probably one of the coolest and gayest things I've ever seen. I'd rather have a powerful v8 with the magnificent tone rather than have a lame v6 thats followed rice rocket procedures. Although it would allow suspension work to make the thing handle better than almost every car out there and be quicker without always feeling the massive weight of the TA. I have a TA and v6 model and I totally want to do this mod now haha! FUCKING AWESOME BUT LIKE I SAID WEIRD!

  • Alright I take everything I said back. I didn't see that things speed at the end of the track. Thats just down right fucking cool! Sounds better than a ferrari F430! I mean I'd still would want to have a v8 with that v6 model so I could interchange but yeah...I just wonder how much it cost to do all that and how much suspension work it needed unless it can't handle well. However as I said before if you used the v8 suspension somehow it would be AMAZING due to the weight.

  • Now he needs to get better reaction times. Great build tho.

  • Why?

  • wow thats awsome, must have taken alot of work to come up with a twin turbo setup, its the only one ive seen.

  • INTENSE RACING IS THE BEST THERE IS

  • all i have to say is holy shit

  • awesome car.. i have a 01 firebird auto.. do you have any pointers on improving performance?? will apreciate thanks XD

  • yes, selling it for a LS1 '01 firebird

  • haha

  • star with intake and exhaust

  • Holy Fucking Shit!

  • i got a 01 3800 and i gotta work with what i got so turbocharging is an option right now for me.its hard to find v6 performance parts though

  • Where is that track at?

  • ok thanks for your help man

  • nice i got a 3.4 camaro what would be better supercharger or turbo wich one would make it faster any help would be good

  • i wouldnt do any, i have the same car/engine, i asked local performance shops the same thing they said that its not worth it, its just a waste of money and would be better off doing an engine swap.

  • thanks

  • yea no prob, over the summer im bout to sell my 3.4 and get a firebird 3.8 or 5.7 doesnt matter as long as its not a 3.4

  • yeah 3.4 are very slow im thinking about getting a camaro ss 5.7 or a gto
