  • @chikavourdalak Thank you for your kind comments.

  • congratz for you bravery. i dont dear to show miself in a seizure. i just now let take a movie from miself for friend to see miself walk. but the real thing i hide

  • it's great when he laughs and you can see he is really in that body, a true personality.

  • im very interested in davids condition, my aunty has severe cerebal palsy and cannot walk/talk or care for herself. I would really like to see more videos of david and how he is getting on..

  • god bless him.

  • YA!

    NARUTO!

    -high five david-

    naruto ftw

  • what is David watching? a music video?

  • I was lucky bc both of my siblings have it along with my father... I'm waiting for the results of the genetic testing to see if I'm a carrier. I'm so proud of my family- I have not heard complaint about living with a very challenging disorder and they always crack jokes about it

  • My brother was wheelchair bound for many years and had to learn how to walk all over again. He had the deep brain stimulator put in about 4 years ago... Amazing results for his hands/arm and neck almost instantly. Not a great improvement with walking, but any small change is great to see! My other brother is contemplating it for himself but he only has one bad leg

  • To be completely honest, i understand his ailment fully, but the guy looks like he's quite happy.. Personally, i'm an optimist, i like to find the good in whatever it may be.

  • this humbles me so much! God is using David, amazing (:

  • What a smart child(no sarcasm)!

  • From 0:01 to 0:30 is epic!

  • I have Myclonic Dystonia following a traumatic neck injury/surgery about 3 years ago. I have been watching Davids videos for awhile now because he is my inspiration! I do not have constant onset, only sudden, so in watching him dealing with this I feel solace in knowing that I have the "in-between" time that I am relatively "normal" in that I can get on with most of my living! When I feel sorry for myself, I watch David l and I do not feel so sorry for myself anymore! Thank you for sharing

  • @clitav So glad the videos can be of help and encouragement to you. You should join our yahoo group. Lot's of wonderful people are on. The group is very active and helpful!

  • @DaynaCamp Thank you for sharing David's story. I can only weep for his discomfort and PRAY that GOd will release him from this awful prison! Please share this YAHOO group address with me. I' a artist, fashion designer/singer-songwriter & DYSTONIA has affected to more than I could EVER imagine. God has graciously given me glimpses into the world of precious David. We take our health for granted UNTIL a catastrophic iINCURABLE malady takes our control away! Then we're grateful for SMALL things.

  • This guy should perform standup comedy lol!! uh-oh... *equips riot shield*

  • He only has dystonia when he gets excited ?

  • @xxxAlphaxxx5

No, since Dystonia is a neurological condition he has it all the time. He will always have Dystonia. Sometimes it presents itself worse than at other times. Our hopes are that it will get under better control with Deep Brain Stimulation .

  • why cant Botox help here ? to relax the muscles ???

  • @flexbrat

Botox works with isolated areas of dystonia. It isn't usually used for generalized dystonia over the whole body.

  • aww he looks like such a sweetie! God bless <3

  • hey there! thanks for posting this; i'm a nursing student currently learning about movement disorders/symptoms, like dystonia and extrapyramidal effects. textbooks fail miserably at explaining how to identify and assess for these conditions, so it's great that you are willing to share this video, for the sake of education and spreading awareness. David seems like a real charmer :) and a very happy man when he's surfing the web. Thanks again, - Nichole

  • @nbentley I'm glad his video is a help. He was watching one of his favorite cartoon reruns on the internet. I need to do another video so we can compare. There really hasn't been much change though.

  • He must be watching adventure time.

  • @Goelzjh nopes, he's watching the ending to Naruto "Bacchikoi"

  • That's cerebral Palsy. Most extreme cases of CP have that I have seen have this.

  • @AJSensei David was never diagnosed with CP as a child. He could walk and run 3 or 4 years ago, just not as fast as his friends.

  • @DaynaCamp I believe you. However, my brother has CP and he looks like most of his friends do down to a T.

  • He reminds me of my cousin, who is autistic. He does kind of the same things when something has his attention like that.

  • He's watching Youtube

  • O.o it seems bad

  • Aw! I feel so bad! When he twists into the positions is he in pain? Give him my wishes and prayers!

  • Narutards 4 evar man I <3 u

  • I was just on David's blogspot. It was/is so wonderful to see such a blessed family! You are being a great blessint, too, i'm sure! May our God continue to use you all!

  • God bless him!

  • I got one question, he seems to be smiling the whole time, is he happy or what? I know this questions is moronic giving the circumstances hes under, but it just seems like hes laughing. I can't fully tell.

  • @david10291029 Yes, he is a very happy dude. Life could be worse.

  • he looks like he is having a ball!

  • awwwwwww poor guy

  • I'm grateful he's enjoying his time here. :)

  • whatevers he's watching i want to watch.

  • He wears his happiness all over his body. Very handsome fella. This made me smile!

  • Is he retarded too? It's a pretty warranted question. From what I see in the video he seems to be quite..if not totally, retarded. Well is he?. I'm sorry for my rudeness, I'm aware he has a neurological disorder. But on the surface level he looks mentally deficient to me.

  • @mightydistinguished David is developmentally delayed with an IQ too high to be labeled mentally retarded. Many people who have a physical condition similar to his can appear to be mentally handicapped as well.

  • @mightydistinguished David is developmentally delayed with an IQ too high to be labeled mentally retarded. Many people who have a physical condition similar to his can appear to be mentally handicapped as well. Read some of the other comments below to get a better understanding.

  • @mightydistinguished Sorry to say, but I sincerely hope you had positive intentions when you asked that, as it could have been better asked on such a delicate subject.

  • I have a cousin with the same condition... My heart goes out to this young man, i miss my cousin very much as we live in different countries and i cant spend tome with him. He is so awesome and is always happy. that i am thankful for.

  • Hope it's gonna be a cure sometime

  • I feel really bad for him . :( Is it a cure for this ?

    Please answar

  • I don't think there is no cure, but doing research there is treatment options

  • no cure

  • wow the man in the back is just sitting there like nothing is happening...

  • @colbie96 spasms and movements are normal to people with dystonia. it's the way the body works.

  • cuz its been happening all his life so to him -his dad- its normal

  • I, too, have dystonia. It does not affect my speech but I can relate to excitement or emotional things heightening the movements. No joke, crying, laughing, anything too extreme (like too hot or too cold) make my movements worse. Thanks for being one to share the story... maybe together all of us can educate people. We have feelings, we have thoughts, we aren't retarded... we are just always moving. Thanks abunch!

  • I didn't know he watches Naruto. I do too. :)

Not all people with dystonia are unable to speak. I was recently diagnosed (tentatively until I see a specialist) with it, and I can speak. However, it really interferes with daily life and my tremors tend to make it seem like I'm having a seizure, which I don't have. They usually affect my face, arms, and legs, and recently my hands have begun to spasm.

  • @NeoSirLeader Something wierd is happening with my body . When i want to moove fast , stand up or so ,sometimes i cant do it rapidly , because the right side of my body gets spazms my arm and hand gets twisted i have like a muscular contraction in my right leg and my jaw has it to , its not like here in the movie, it lasts 4-10 sec , i can walk while having it but i moove like a handicaped person. its more than 5 years when it is happening to me, but i never went to talk with a doctor,

  • That's not involuntary, that's dancing, baby!

  • LMFAOOOOO

  • people with this syndrome. Can they talk?

  • almost makes one want to take away all excitement just to stop the tensing muscles...what a road to travel....

  • i hope he gets better he look very sweet

  • i hope they find cure for this, this is really sad :(

  • Thankyou for saying that. Too many people pray instead of actually helping.

  • why would you post this. poor little guy

  • I posted this for the benefit of his dr. while they evaluated him for surgery. It also benefits many people who have dystonia. Since it is a rather rare disorder, it's encouraging to find others with it.

  • I never realized how rare it is, but I have it along with my mothers side of the family.

  • Well I forgot to mention is none of us have it this bad (except for my uncle). All I have is my foot is on its side when I walk and sometimes my head go back and forth.

  • there is a video on youtube of a peacemaker a doctor implant in a girls brain and everything stops she starts having a normal life. why dont you check that out

  • Poor guy. Yeah, there seem to be some successful DBS operations. There have also been extreme muscle-related tourettes cases that have received similar successes.

It seems like this gentleman has a good attitude, though. Very best of luck.

  • hahahaha agrrreeed, people with this sydrome..so sad!

  • i didnt even know this was out there! im gonna pray for him to

  • its sad to see, but hes obviously happy, so its not all that bad :)

  • That's true! He is a happy guy and pretty content as long has he has his games and shows.

  • my best wishes and prayers to this child.

  • Thank you! We will try to keep you all updated on his blog.

  • Damn man, I really wish this kid the best of luck! Good Luck and Never give up man!!!

  • :( :(

  • i will pray for him..

  • I hope that the operation will go well :)

  • Good luck to you and your family. :)

  • Thank you!

  • i hope his operation goes well....

  • yea

  • This is pretty interesting. I would absolutely love to go to Vanderbilt University one day.

  • I can't imagine what he was watching...

    He's a cute kid.

  • Thanks for posting, I'm a med student learning about dystonia.
