  • i think that photoshopping is kind of necessary to a point. for example: retouching spots and imperfections of the skin is okay because it is a temporary thing and it is nothing you identify with. but i do think it is lying if you change the shape of somone's bone structure or if you make someone look thinner. and, anyway, why would you hire Kate Winslet or whoever for an advert if, in the end, you make her look like any random fashion model?!

  • You're so right, Sam.

  • i know what makes it successful, you're probably the most knowlaged people on youtube :)

  • u look so pretty! like a stunning giraffe, or gazelle or something. i loveeee it!

  • i agree!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! but your vids dnt seem to load very well for me, other ppls r ok its just urs? maybe its just me lol but i like to hear what u have to say its sooooo annoyin lol

  • I love the look!

Yeah, I hate all the false action taking into making a "perfect" cosmetic image. Take TV adverts for foundation, they don't even use the foundation they're advertising on the models...they airbrush the models! Ay ay ay!

  • really good job

  • Absolutely LOVE the makeup! Totally agree with the "rambling" as well. I think your great!

  • i like ittt

    i like it a lot

  • i love the make up.

  • Hey.. I completely agree!

I used to do a lot of graphic design and was around people online who lived for photoshop! and i remember going through a models blog whos photo had been completely manipulated on Photoshop and a girl made a comment she must have been about 12 and was stunning! she said she wished she was as beautiful and went on about how shed love to have her skin and eyes.. was awful! So yeah i agree Photoshops wrong and its misleading young minds causing them to crave perfection!

  • I totally loved the final result!

    What a shame it's not a tutorial.

  • Hello sam! Just wondered if anyone can attend IMATS?I'm not a make-up artist but would love to go but it could be intimidating. Thanks, laura.

  • i find you incredibly entertaining. gorgeous. funny. keep at it. thanks.

  • Oh I love the way the makeup looks. it would have been a great tutorial

  • I swear, you make me laugh... even if this was not a "proper" tutorial....I love your vids!

  • It's ur amazing talent and gorgeous faces that makes it successful :)

  • I don't get many high fashion jobs anymore because I refuse to be pencil thin and of course my age, (plus I've always been more curvy and had big boobs). But you know what, I don't care. I'm happy with my body. I used to starve myself and be completely obsessed with my weight, but no more. I'd rather be happy and healthy. I don't know anyone who is happy and healthy at a size 0. It's just not worth it. You'll never be up to the standard anyway, so you might as well set your own.

  • sam you two should do more of these vlogs :) we like them cos we can get to know you guys a little better :) love you!

  • I WOULD COPY THIS! but im new to makeup and only got my makeup brushes like yesterday lol! and i have small eyes so im thinking of trying this in shimmery browns instead of black, do you have any other tips to do this look on small eyes? thanks

  • i'm 13, and am just bordering on average/under weight (size 6). but i eat, a lot. i swear i eat so much junk and never put on weight.

it'll all catch up on me one day ;P

  • I don't think you're rambling!

  • i really like this makeup look and it would look amazing for some runway show!

also you make some very good points.

  • love how u used a mascara brush to do your bun!

  • you aren't near the word "Fat" your size is perfect and any women would die to have your eyes, your small nose and your small mouth, maybe people in the uk have other beutty standerds, in mexico you'd be a total hit.

  • This look would be perfect for halloween.

  • i loooved your call 'iv never met a natural size zero, well yeah i have... but they're kids' lol, so true. Love this video, very interesting and entertaining! (love all your vids though)

  • Lol, i actually quite liked the look :) nice to see fellow londoners on youtube ! Please do your skin care routine video! Thnx x

  • im natural size 0 but i know im not pecfect n i like tht cz if everyone was the same it b really boring

  • I would really copy this look! I think its gorgeous! I've watched all of your videos and keep coming back to this one! Its my favorite! Love ya girls!

  • I really appreciate your honesty. It is extremely refreshing and exciting to hear that is how you truly feel,. I wish more people would feel that way, but now a days everything is about image and it makes me sad that our children are being brought up in this shallow world. I always say be happy with who you are and what you have because if you don't love yourself, who will? Thank you again and I love all of your tutorials. :)

  • Fierce look. Reminds me of a cover Nadja Auerman did in the 90's for Harper's Bazaar in the US.

  • beautiful make up, i love it!!!

    looks so sooooooooooo high fashion

  • I think random rambling feels good from time to time. I do it all the time, actually. Really nice to hear your opinion about that whole photoshop thing, because, I don't know how to put it, but it kind of means something to me if someone like you just says it like that....

  • Real problem is that very young girls are soo into this "i want to be ideal" crap, too much tv, internet, silly teenage magazines.

There's only hope for us to learn our children that beeing beautiful is not about this s***t.

  • im with you about the photoshop stuff... i work with it like the half time with... emm photos, you know, photoshoots and some people it's like: can you put me breasts, get some spots off, bigger eyes, even a more skinny, less chubby face... i mean you can do this few thing to the pics, like more light shadows (just a bit) but wanting more it's like so unnatural, completly fake, with photoshop, the magic is gone, you're scent is gone

    I am so with you!

    BTW nice make up

  • Sam, I noticed another thing - they don't airbrush the wrinkles (at least not all of them) from George Clooney in the Nescafe print ads - isn't that a bit of a double standard? Women aren't supposed to age, while men's wrinkles give them character and charm.... not fair!

  • Yes, I hate that. I am so irritated by the show 'Strictly Come Dancing' that replaced its mature female judge with Alesha Dixon.

3 mature male judges is fine but how awful to look at a mature woman! Seriously....what the hell is wrong with society?

  • I totally agree with you. I'm a 17-year-old girl living in the US and I am 5'9" and 232lbs. I am healthy, and happy with myself the way I am, but I am constantly feeling the stress and the pressure to be shorter and thinner. I find it ridiculous and I wish I would stop being judged based on my weight. Because I am, regardless of what people say.

  • i honestly think the makeup looks good

  • you and nic are so successful because you two are so extremely talented! you guys are the top makeup artists IMHO, you're friendly and interesting and hilarious! and beautiful! <3

  • Oh by the way it is obvious you have lost weight. But you did look amazing before too.

  • Quite right - totally agree with what you say - and creased myself laughing when you talk about Penelope Cruz, I have always said that!

PS - hope your diet is going well, you are looking really good! xx

  • i think that you should make a few more vids where ur just ramblin on cuz the way i c u n ur siter (after i only discovered u guys yesterday - its like chillin in my room wiv 2 girlfriends n just chattin n thats wat i love about ur site n i think thats wat others love about ur site 2 - ur rite it is honest but its natural like this video n ur sisters one where u ask 4 ur camera but she cant edit it - i liked that cuz its REAL...

  • Hi Sam, i totally agree with what u said - im naturally a 14-16 though i have gone up to a 16-18 after having my lil girl in June, i must admit i don't go out that much anymore as i can't find any clothes to fit n flatter my body shape n as for buying new clothes i find upsetting so i just dont go out - but i feel so much better after listening to u -

  • I got really annoyed once because all the skinny girls at my school would never shut up about how great they look so i asked a load of boys and most of them said they would rather have a big girl then a twig! really skinny people look disgusting anyway!

my sisters friend does photos alot and she did one of my sister and people said it was crap because she isnt stick thin and covered in makeup but then that was a load of girls the boys said she looked great!

  • Size 0 is so unhealthy and doesn't even look nice. She is so right about that.

  • Some of these comments are ridiculous. I'm a size 0, always have been. I'm 20 years old, and all around very healthy. I just don't gain a lot of weight. You are telling me I'm unhealthy and don't look nice? I think perhaps it's jealousy.

  • I was referring to models and celebs that literally starve themselves to keep a size 0 figure.

There are loads of size 0 ladies but generally they are petite all round and look amazing.

To be honest I don't think there are many natural size 0, 5' 11 women. Yet they are in every magazine.

  • I was referring to the same thing like sam. When I Think about size 0 I think about all those models that are looking very unhealthy. I dont know anybody with size 0 but ok, I mean if there are "normal" people with size 0 and they look actually healthy and normal then I apologize for my general comment above. But I actually meant models and actress.

  • I totally agree with what you have to say. I think that in magazines where there are editorial fashion shoots - I would find it okay for them to use photoshop if it was done artistically to enhance the shoot. But even then I would still think that the readers should realise that it isn't natural.

I am still disappointed about how the fashion industry still shuns healthily sized women - like on Mark Fast's show at london fashion week! that was disgraceful.

  • ha at the Penelope Cruz thing (: too true.

  • I would love to have my make up done like this... its beautiful!

  • I must admit to being very insecure myself but I have to say it is more interesting to look imperfect than perfect like the photoshopped models you see, by the way your make up is gorgeous in this video!

    x

  • I love your ring please tell me were you got it from in a reply :)

  • lol darling u are cool!! i wanna be yr friend for ever!

( i'm a boi but used to wear this sort of make up in my early twenties...and often did one eye only out of not been bothered and rebelliousness...)

    hugs and thanx

  • I read the comment, "it is only worth watching if you have nothing better to do"!!! Or if you think she is very pretty..

  • looks like a drag qween lol

  • Totally with u on all u say here. Magazines do have alot to ask 4 really I mean wldn't it just be really gr8 to have no flaws & perfect skin with no wrinkles not forgetting perfect hair when u get out of bed in the morning. As for size zero who really wants a body like Victoria Beckham? She looks like she could do with a decent Big Mac or two. x

  • Love the makeup tbh :D

  • sasha fierce! lol! nice makeup!

  • Your gawjush you don't need to be photoshop< theres no such thing as perfect x

  • your channel is successful because you're hot...

on your channel - age 32?, my guess was 18-20 tbh.

  • I completely agree with you. At least someone people understand, but you know what you said about the mascara thing? Well, tbh MaxFactor False Lash Effect Mascara is actually really good! Honestly, I'm not bragging when i say this, but naturally I have very long lashes, genetically lol, but I'm a perfectionist when it comes to doing my mascara, and trust your eyelashes CAN get perfect and very long! But obviously not after one stroke of mascara like it says on the adverts lol. :)

  • Average in the UK is a 16 actually - I'm also a 14 UK size, and I'm happy the way I am. Sometimes I wish i was more toned, but I'd rather enjoy food! The beauty ads are hideous - and then the anti ageing ones!! bloody hell, what a joke, those 'older' models showing off the cream and they're in soft focus as it is!! ARGH!!

  • Yes! Glad you feel the way I do!

And the magazines won't stop... because the fashion and beauty industry makes too much money from insecure women...

  • wow SCARY !

  • about the make up - a lil bit to strong for me but i really like the idea (the design) ;)

  • I don't believe it i watched this entire video. You are simply gorgeous... darling.. There is so much similarity between you and my dates who somehow turn up to be leo ( sun sign ) keep it up...

  • hey i am going to the imats in jan cant wait love it hope to see u there love all ur work hope when i qulify i can be as good as u

  • Your like my Drama Teacher her names Sam and you look exactly like her (She doesn't have that makeup on her face thoughh lol.) And you talk like her! (: x

  • Hi Sam,

Love this look!!! I wouldn't mind a tut on it. May not be an everyday look, but it is pretty and could be worn as a dramatic look or for Halloween or a movie...

    Take Care.

  • i TOTALLY agree with everything you said!

    And You look GLAMOROUS!

    XOXOXX

  • loved this rant nice to se someone chatting about real issues xxx

  • please check out my channel + help me think of new songs to sing :)

  • great makeup! <3

i wear mine like that a lot now. freaks my parents out but hey, different is freakin awesome !

you've made your eyes really equal! o:

although i must say, you're too modest.

  • Just happened to come across your video and I love what you have to say and how you champion true women; it's what many of us Muslim women say everyday. In fact, by wearing the hijab (head scarf) we force society to judge us according to our character rather than our looks.

  • Unfortunately, due to the racism Muslims now encounter in the UK, wearing the hijab is probably more counteractive.

Sadly, people will judge you before they even get to know your character. Have you found that?

  • i agree :( its sad what society has done to women. love ur video though...i ABSOLUTELY agree with the penelope cruz statement!!! yeah right!

  • No, actually I haven't. If others have it still is not counteractive as it still forces others to not judge us according to our looks. The UK is one of the most tolerant and accepting of all the EU countries in regards to Islam and Muslims.

  • I am really glad that you have found that because I constantly feel disappointed and embarrassed by the reactions that I witness.

  • I think you should do a tutorial :D its beautiful

  • haha. this is my first time watching one of your videos. and i will def be watching more. everything you said was so true! :D

  • OMG i love it.. i actually love that make up :D

  • i totally agree with everything you say :Dx

  • p.s i'm naturally thin (not size 0) and it really REALLY bugs me when people ask me if i dont eat or make myself puke or go to the gym every single day to get this figure. i dont do any of that stuff, i eat all kinda of junk, im 18 and i dont have time for that stuff, so larger girls dont wish to be skinny, it's not as amazing as you may think.

  • THANK FUCK

    someone who talks common sense

  • i LOVE this make up! not an everyday look admittedly but it's fab.

  • im a fashion student and i agree with you on every point we are to focused on size and shape and we photoshop people far too much and create something thats virtually unatainable and personaly when i do a shoot im more proud of seeing my 'perfect' vision through make up and styling than think oh well its not so great ill have to photoshop and make it right, tori x

  • Amazing what can be done WITHOUT PHOTOSHOP! Really pretty and I love your ring x

  • THE RING, THE RING, THE RING!!! WHERE, WHERE, WHERE????

what you said makes a lot of sense btw :)

  • this makeup is pretty fascinating....!

but it is not even the focus of this clip, i guess?

i think you have a really cool attitude.

    keep up :)

  • o my i went amsterdam it is awesome

  • Your make up is soo cool :D!

    I love that ring :P

  • okay, i watched the whole of this video about a week ago, and it totally changed things. you have opened my eyes, i am naturally very skinny, but recently, i have seen models and wanted to be like them, so i have tried to lose weight. seeing this video just made me realise, the only people who care about how thin you are, are the magazines and modelling agencies. and the models arent really that perfect. thankyou for making me feel better about myself, i think you caught me before it was to late

  • I actually really liked this make up... although its deffo not everyday wear but for a themed night out or something...

I loved listening to your views on the use of photoshop and i agreed with everything you said..

  • i love those eyes!!!! VAMPY:P you are fab

  • Girrrrl, I wish all tutorials in school and Uni is like this. Avery subtle delivery, honesty over a major issue that is so current with our youth. Well done you, and the make up look F.A.B.O XXX

  • probably the only guy that has watched this, i actually found it quite interesring listening lol

  • wow u are so beautiful

  • YOU ARE STUNNIN!

you have amazing morals and i beleive exactaly what you are saying!!!!!

OH and you are AMAZIN at make up!

  • well durnnee :D

    you did good x

  • U sound like a rely nice genuine person! And ur a rely gud make-up artist!

  • it looked reallyy cool :D

  • iloveee this makeup, i lovee wearing full on make anf this is just stunning not for casual makeup though something to go out in maybe even a themed night. i think you shoujld try a white lipstick and maybe black and white eyes are summit for meeee Lol :D xxx

  • I love that syle, looks pretty awesome.

  • I don't know a god damn thing about make up, but i enjoy your videos very much! x

  • I have to say you look amazing!!!!

  • I love this! i totally agree what your saying, and the media and their obsession with photoshop is really affecting teenagers badly.. like im 15.. was always skinny, got stick for it and tried to gain weight.. gained it and is trying to loose weight! - and im not going to go into any details, but this video and others like it kinda help me stop trying to conform to this crazy image of perfection thats portrayed in the media.. jheeze. I should just be happy with me!

  • Well said.

  • Very Flash Gordon, you look vey cute!

Just don't expect me to feel the same about Ming! :P

  • I totally agree with what you were saying. It's hard enough being female without brutalizing yourself trying to fit into an unrealistic idea of what is "pretty". I have been every size from 16 to 0 and no, 0 wasn't healthy. I was lucky enough to have accepted myself fairly well at whatever size I was, and I wish the same for all women. We're up against enough without being against ourselves.

  • love your make up and i love what your speakin about because its so true

  • wow dats amazing eye make-up x

  • you're absolutely gorgeous! i wish i had gone to london on saturday but i only just watched the video! keep up the great work!

  • I'm glad you finished it - actually reminds me a bit of Elvira (Cassandra Peterson). Very Vamp. Also seen this look on Vegas showgirls. It's almost theatrical.

You are a talented makeup artist. ^^)

  • lol "ive never met a natural size zero person, well i have but their kids" ...loooool lovin the blusher btw!!!

  • i agree with u on photoshop compleatly and i love that shimery pearly eye shadow what is it?

  • oh my god! I love this look! Please do a tutorial, i want to learn how its done!

  • this could work as a futeristic space alien thing for haloween or fancy dress also tottaly agree with you about the whole airbrushing thing

  • i want 2 go 2 imats london but i dont really know any1 in london...or were 2 go like 2 stay? and i dont want 2 be alone lol

  • Well said!

  • its the hair that gets on my nerves... head and sholders makes ur hair silky soft (like this girl on this advert) NOT A CHANCE!

  • I'm a guy and I love these vids, it's fascinating watching women put on make up.

Re the photoshopping and airbrushing etc. I totally agree and I hate lads mags which publish images of models with exaggerated curves and perfect skin. They're selling a lie.

But women also need to stop buying into these trashy women's magazines which are just as bad at promoting this kind of thing. And a lot of women need to stop being so insecure and start to be a lot more comfortable with themselves.

  • i know you didn't want to do a tutorial on this so is it possible for you to tell me what make up you used.....i love your accent.

  • Loved the ramble and loving this channel which I only discovered this week. That was a very dramatic look but you did in fact look absolutely stunning at the end. Wish I had the courage to wear a look like that. :)

  • Smexyness, I'd let you do me anyday!

  • ps.you're stunningggggggg

  • do a tutorial!

  • You look amazing.

  • Got a feeling that i don't belong here but i have to say, She is absolutely gorgeous.

sorry i dont know what else to say.

  • Same here fella. I'm awkwardly nervous..

  • 4:59 does she have a mascara wand sticking out of her hair? (:

  • Yup...sure looks like it. :)

  • i love this

  • we will never wholly be rid of airbrushing in magazines. the best we can hope is less of it. i know that's harsh, but it's realistic.

  • You're really good at makeupp :P

  • Your make up looks fantastic. Very nice job :)

  • If you don't want to buy into that way of thinking, stop buying the mafazines! Read some books instead, learn something. This obsession with surface 'beauty' is completely shallow anyway, if you obsess all about then you don't have naything deeper going on, i've met very 'pretty' girls who've had ugly personalities, i'd rather have an attractive girl who's down to earth and comfortable in her own skin. The media just creates insecurity, mental illness and obsessions...

  • haha. Love your ramble :)

You speak the truth ... Im happy with my weight and size but I need to get toned. Thats all alot of people need to do. But if your happy with how you look then good on you :D alot of women need to feel comfortable in thier own skin curves are the way to go!!

  • I have never watched a video on here all the way through. . . but I was mesmorised by your make up. . . Wish I had your talent

  • kool makeup!

  • I'm Glad That As A Makeup Artist You Believe In Women Looking As Real And As Natural As Possible :)

  • nice industrial look!

  • Lol, I'm a male and watching this..but I agree about size 0 though.

  • you know i was watching it and 3:18 in i already fell in love wiht your opion form one thing you said , everyone says abou tpoeple being "plus size" and put alot of stuff on that but then poeple dont relaise that there are some girls in the world who are so naturally skinny and thin and cant help it and they get a bad wrap for it as poeple say ooh they have an eating disorder , you are one of the firts poeple i have seen who has thought about the other person thankyou for that <3

  • Whats wrong with being me?

    Im a size UK 18.

To the rest of the world i am a stupid fatass.

I am NEVER going to be accepted for anything.

  • Thats simply not true. Your view of yourself makes the biggest difference to how people feel about you. Of course there will always be ignorant people but they will find fault whatever size you are.

  • @SpOnGeBoBsAvEmE

Hardly, I met a girl on the internet, knew her for a few months, and I flew to Sweden to live with her. She was a "stupid fatass", but you have to realise - to some people, looks truely don't matter. I don't even put them in the equasion when trying to find somebody to be happy with. Obviously can't speak my full mind in a tiny chat box, but indeed - if a person is so vein that he cares about looks and size, why would you want to be with a person like that?

  • you guys are lovely.

you are my favorite makeup artists in youtube.

  • I don't see the point in wearing that much makeup...

  • "Who's going to copy this, really?" haha! I love it :)

  • That blush is amazing!

    loveitloveitloveit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • you r so wonderfully talented...i love to watch you and ur sister...thank you for all your helpful tips and beautiful tutorials...and by the way i thought this end result was PHENOMENAL...i love outrageous, spontaneous, and random forms of inspiration...i think thats when ur best work surfaces :D

  • at the start of this video, i thought the make up wasn't very nice but by the end, i loved it ;D love your opinions and i totally agree x

  • you are gorgeous!

  • well done, you got close to looking like a thundercat. very artistic indeed its cool.

  • You look amazing, love those eyes so much xx

  • I agree with you on the whole 'Photoshop' thing, xD

  • your eye make up is to die for,and what youve said is brilliant, about size 0 etc,i really enjoyed your video, lots of luck to you, keep it up and earn a few bob,you never know!

  • wow i think this i actually really amazing lol it looks awesome ur really talented at doing makeup :) x

  • I love you! *subs* :D

  • great eyes.

  • Nice message

  • i like the end of it and i know youlike macup BUT ..babe you love talking is well ahahahhhhh nice

  • Thankyou soo much, this video has actually made me see sense! I'm naturally thin, I always thought OMG everyone wants to be thin and I'm thin and dont like it. But when you said about some people are thin and dont like, I thought that actually maybe I should start to like my body shape and myself.

    Thankyou Sooo much :)

  • OMG.. you're amazing

  • thats not a bad video

people on the high street probably wouldnt wear it

but lady gaga would copy it or something Lol :)

  • dono why ye didnt do it as a toutorial its lovely =]

im doin sometin like this 2nite but only on one eye. ill that the cream inner shape from it and do it in black on my other eye. love doin epic makeup when im goin out =] haa

    love yer stuff xox <3

  • i think the makeup is nice :) the eyes are beautiful :D

  • I have absolutely no interest in make-up at all, but I think you're really interestinng and I agree with your views and stuff. :)

  • "realistically, its not fair" love that. I finally stopped to think "wait, why instead of trying so hard to be perfectly toned & fit, I just love my body that way it is?" I honestly NEVER thought about that! id be so much happier =(

  • I love your hair clip. lol its an eyebrow brush, r
