I sure do remember this air check...Frankie Crocker had such a nice (sexy) voice...and when he signed off with this King Pleasure song...it was too, too much!
I certainly do recall this song being played at the close of Mr. Frankie Crocker show THE "QUIET STORM" on the New York City radio station 107.5 WBLS! I was a very young child but music has been a strong, forceful & guiding influence in my life. And it does bring back some wonderful memories for me!
This song reminds me waiting for my dad get off the bus stop, Guy Brewer Blvd. (Queens, NY). He would whistle this song. He enjoyed Frankie Crocker on WBLS. Rest in peace, dad (Clifford R. Anderson)
I used to work at an IHOP restaurant back in 1971 and I remember them having a radio in the back with this song coming on either at 8pm or 9pm at the end of the show. I remembered all the words through the year and just found it on you-tube now.. What a great find!!..So glad I did..Thanks for the great memories!
If Frankie Crocker's not on your radio then your radio's not really on he would say something like if we live to be 100 let me live to be 100 minus A day so I would never know good people like you have gone away. Or something close to that . Miss you Frankie , R.I.P
@leandermills45 I miss him too, the Chief Rocker. Loved his rap, daring to try something new. The One and Only, often imitated, never duplicated. R.I.P. Frankie, thank you for the great memories.
At WBLS the DJ's they have now with the exception of Von Harper, suck badly. Frankie Crocker in the earler 70's rocked. He was and will always be the best DJ ever. His smooth voice and way of talking made him the best. He made that radio station.
This song brings back many memories of that time period. I'm trying to recall what it was he used to say before closing with this song. I can't atm but I'm glad I was around to hear FC.
true dat. You're right. I was in 10th grade. We'd tape Marley Marl and then jam it the next day on our boom box at the park and the streets, as if we had mixed it the night before. LOL
i was in the 4th grade when this was going down. If im not mistaken, Frankie Crocker game Mr. Magic and Marley Marl one of their 1rst breaks to rock on WBLS
WOW!! This takes me back to my youth about 1979 - 80 riding home in the back seat of my mothers Grand Pix with my two sisters singing this on the way home as Frankie went of from the radio with this always being the encore!! Great post love it!!
Been telling my lover of 27 years about Frankie Crocker and this song but could never find it until today!
