  • QUICK SOMEONE GO PYRO, WEVE GOT SPIES IN OUR INTELLIGENCE!

  • @stickguy13 I love playing the pyro ever since i got my new hat the "nappers respite".

  • Are there any number stations still up?

I'm thinking of getting one of these radios.

  • @systems69 Not many. Most just use morse code now, and they're a bit harder to find. However, the cuban station V2 broadcasts daily on i believe 7887 kHz. You should get a radio and a good antenna, and search for them.

  • i am going to cyprus this summer, will i need special radio equipment to find the licolnshire poacher or will the signal be strong enough that i can use just a normal radio ?

  • Nah,just look for the fucking great aerials!Seriousely though, any decent shortwave radio will do,only need to spend about £50 or so for a Sangean perhaps if you just want The Poacher. You should get a few more besides, too.

  • so just like a sony radio that has sw and a big ass aerial? im excited as fuck man ! ?

  • For the Lincolnshire Poacher, you will need a SW radio with SSB(single side band),they ain't too expensive, but try to get a reputable brand, sony, sangean, eton etc.For info on number stations, google Simon Mason Number Stations(excellent site),and Yahoo Enigma 2000(very helpful). You are NOT going to catch 100's of different stations, but a handful of them in morse, polytone and voice, and some oddities like "The Buzzer" on 4625kHz.

  • Lincolnshire Poacher - I get it around 5746 and 9251 most weekdays at 1800, 2100 or 2200 UTC

  • man i used to have same hf kit.

but like a muppet i sold it,

now i have a dx-2oo receiver wich drifts off frequency..not good when you are tying to use SSTV and PSK31.lol.

  • What's the rig? Looks like an 80's icom, you can't beat an analogue s-meter. I see the dial of a much older rx above too?

  • It is an Icom IC-R70 Receiver, love mine to pieces!

The one above is a Realistic DX200. I don't use it as often because the R70 out performs it. Unfortunately, the DX200 does seem to drift but as my first base receiver and the fact that I got it for free, I suppose I can't grumble!

    73 Oliver :)
