I love you Cody and you are my wank material but I'm afraid to say that comparison is ridiculous. The difference is there's not a risk of you dying from second-hand abortions. Smoking. if you dont do it ...umm...you will just be healthier lol if you do it you will be less healthy and probably at least slightly affect others around you. So its a selfish risk as well as a non benificial risk.
Can someone help me out please. Is this guy AndrewAnthem being sarcastic? Pulling an irritating joke or something? That was my first thought, but then I remembered; "Ah, this is the internet, people are stupid".
The reason for rights is to attend to people's comfort. Get your lazy ass outside and smoke away from people who are bothered by it. you're not a rebel, You're not smart, You're not a punk, You're an uneducated prick.
But you know what? I forgive you since you dropped you of high school and had a kid.
If you had a medical condition and people claimed they had the right to flare it up whenever they want to in public, I'm pretty sure you'd find it much easier to see why your previous video about smoking made you sound like an ass. As I said though, Kizzume's arguments were weak, basically only citing cancer (which to my knowledge, second hand smoke has never caused cancer) and the smell (valid, but not as hard-hitting as people with sensitive sinuses and especially asthmatics).
I have sensitive sinuses and this is about more than comfort. Kizzume's argument was weak, so I want to pick up the slack. When I'm around someone who's smoking, it burns my sinuses and I have to shield my nose. This is a physical effect, something that isn't just me saying "Ooo that's stinky!" but me having actual physical discomfort. Furthermore, I'm an asthmatic, and though my asthma has gotten much better over the years, it only takes a deep breath of smoke to start my lungs tightening up.
haha.. Actually where I live its illegal to smoke in a car with a person under the age of 16 in the vehicle. And albeit its a major turn off in general and my asthma acts up making ne wheezy as shit when around cig smoke, I think its a good point about legislation in restaurants. Should be up to the restaurant owners, its a business decision they have to make. Cater to smokers or not, whatever the hell is more profitable/ matches their ethics.
I agree that smoking is a persons choice. But one thing I disagree with you on is smoking in restaurants. For me it's because I know many people with deadly lung diseases and if they breathe in smoke they end up being sick in the hospital for weeks on end. It's not really fair to them that they can't go out because someone else wants to smoke inside.
Ya know...I live in Wisconsin...we can't smoke in restaurants, we can't smoke in bars, we can't smoke in front of any entrances or exits of public places unless we're 10 feet away from them...So dude with the septum ring can get fucked
@xthelastnightx I live in Wisconsin too! But I'm glad we have that law, because I'm a singer, and I sure as hell don't want my voice getting ruined by some bitch ass who thinks they have the right to poison me.
@musicianforlife8295 Poison you? Okay i live in fucking... wisconsin too. But everyone smokes around me. AM I FUCKING POISONED? your a fucking a dumbass. secondhand smoke is a myth. So shut the fuck up and let people do what they have the freedom to do.
The funny thing is, around here, there was a political party strongly advocating the a legislation against people smoking in their homes or their cars if there were children under the age of 18 present in your household. Thank fuck that the government isn't -that- retarded.
@Hediori That shows that he government doesn't really work for the people though. right? I mean if the government was really working for those dipshits we would be fucked, stupidity spreads a lot easier than intellect. but then again now that we do know the government isn't working for us we get pissed. so would you rather get fucked over by people who are to stupid to realize they re doing it, or keep getting fucked over by people who do know but just dont care
How come no one is addicted to second hand smoke?
A retarded question yeas but it's worth a thought. I'm not a doctor but I'd say it's more dangerous to stand in proximity to a running hummer than a chainsmoker.
@Ze8us I think because if a person likes to second hand smoke, then most likely they'll start smoking all together, so they will become addicted to tabaco, second hand, or first hand or whatever. Just a guess to your question, I don't know if its right or wrong. Im a smoker.
unfortunately i find myself agreeing with the other guy on some things, i agree that you should have the right to smoke, i don't smoke and never will, because smoke makes me cough feel faint in the head and sometime i nearly pass out, it disrupts my thinking and i cant stand it, but if someone says that people are not allowed to smoke anymore, i will fight for someones right to smoke, because like religion, even though i think its dumb, it still have every right to exist, but not to harm others.
For a country where most people who hate big government certainly love to have the government baby sit them! WAKE UP AMERICA! Oh you're busy taking your nap! WHOOPS MY BAD!
The only place they should be illegal is Hospitals or any other place for health such as walk in clinics, vet offices etc thos should be the only places at all.
is cigarettes not really pipes or cigars yeah it's still counted but not as bad and eather way people still like to have a smoke a beer or a joint once in awile it wont kill them it's all these fuckheads doing it to much ruining it for the rest of us like the fucktards that eat to much fastfood and get so fat they can't get out of bed then the Government steps in and trys controlling everything.
I never really beleived there was such thing as second hand smoke or that it could do that much damage to you when I was younger I was around smokers im still here my mom has smoked since she was 15 is now 50 and she is still alive no cancer my dad who smoked for years and is 40 no cancer my grandpa who smoked for years did'nt get cancer till he was around 70 I think this has less to do with smoke as it does with something else that activates cancer cells kina funny the big thing
I watched Penn and Teller Bullshit and I was wondering if what they said (it's a pretty old episode anw) was true. Back when they did the episode a couple of years ago, they said that there had bin no case of cancer that can be directly pinned on second hand smoking. anyone?
and no ones banning cigarettes because there unhealthy for your, so yur abortion metaphor was pointless, cigarettes are unhealthy for those around you.
i have to disagree with you here...you shouldnt be aloud to smoke in public because there is a potential risk of efffecting someones elses health, i mean i have the right to buy and walk around with ammoniabut i dont have the right to force you to or the people around me to smell the fumes....
@MidMASS2 in your in no positions to kill someone with your smoking....and you must be a complete retard for the argument you putting forth...I'm done arguing with with someone as small minded and uneducated as you
Oh and for the record, there's no increased risk of breast cancer when you get an abortion, that's been totally debunked. There's just no evidence for it.
Giving someone else cancer against their will is not a right. Subjecting people who may be allergic to cigarette smoke to it is also not a right. You can't really compare it to things that don't affect others at all. If some redneck has a gun and shoots some deer in the woods that's really none of my business, that is until he ends up shooting someone else. For the record I think all drugs should be legal including cigarette smoke, just keep it to yourself and have it effect only you.
@WerewolfOfTheWater Well, what about the people who drive cars for less important reasons? Hell, people can ride a bike to work, they can buy an electric car etc.
The small insignificant comfort smoking bans give you, isn't worth it. I don't smoke, but I think people should have the right to smoke in any public place.
I have a lung disease...Cigarettes make me cough a ton...nothing near as bad.this is a matter of health. I should have the right to not be poised by the people that choose to smoke. Is it really fair that people that are affected by smokers medically not be able to go to a restaurant because one decides they "need" a cigarette. I NEED to breathe. WE need to breathe.
I hate the 'it smells bad' argument. Yknow what else smells bad? Most perfumes and colognes and shit like that. Should I be able to ban those because I don't like the smell of it? And personally, I like the smell of tobacco. I remember just walking past a man with a pipe and the smoke coming from it was like maple syrup. I also remember choking on some shit a girl in my 11th grade math class sprayed.
@Saturninefilms I'm not sure if you've heard of this, but they're actually proposing a bill in Illinois that would allow bars and restaurants to get a license to have smoking in their establishments.
It's also selfish of people who smoke in crowded places w/out considering other's disdain. So it's all based on perspective, really. People have the right to be assholes, but atleast i know i also have the right to be one too.
As a non-smoker, I have to say that I agree with you. I would love it if businesses band cigarettes because of their own convictions not because the state coerced them into doing so.
The fact is, prohibitory legislation NEVER eliminates the so-called problem, it simply creates more and more criminals, and is an arrogant attempt to control human nature.
They are all baby steps, but all this does is increase the size of the government and take more of our personal liberties away from us.
As an atheist, I believe that life is especially precious as I only get one. I'm sure you agree with this, at least to the extent that we only get one. Because of this, I think that regulations on activities that directly affect our health are the responsibility of the government. It's why governments exist. To use your car example, we do regulate car emissions. Your car needs to fall within a specific range.
Your right to swing your arm ends at my face. Do you disagree with this?
You are sooo stupid. Smoking as a right? THEY MADE SMOKING POPULAR THROUGH ADS AND THE MEDIA AND PROPAGANDA a looooong time ago and theyre still doing it. Just like alcohol its not going anywhere so your whole pathetic rebellion act is just completely ignorant and childish. And might I say your face is starting to emperor palpatine. On another note, this back and forth argument, just looks fake to me, i was waiting for you to hold up the pack and say some slogan for your endorsement check.
I understand completely where you're coming from Cody, but being an ex smoker for about 3 or 4 months now I can empathize with kizzume. you may not know it but cigs do reak and to the non smoker can be quite unpleasant. Everybody most definitely should have the right to ingest whatever drugs they want but people should be considerate of other peoples feelings.
To all these anti-smoking clowns... so you don't like peoples' right to choose to smoke, so you want to over-regulate it to fit your selfish agenda. Well, fine, but how are you going to feel when Big Brother starts laying the smack down on a right or rights you actually give a shit about? What then? Are you still going to whine, or are you going to rationalize why it is okay for them to jack more of our rights right from under us? Either of those reactions would be terrible choices to make.
@pumarunner88 anti-smoking clowns? really. Im not anti smoking, hell i could give a shit if you pay 5 bucks a day to burn paper and inhale it. A product that was purposly made addictive just so they can take your money. Your right. we are the fools. Just its a matter of being a considerate human being that when a non smoker wishes to eat in a restaurant, they can smell their delicious food and not the smell of shit. Smokers dont realise how strong the smell is to a non smoker.
@soniasonia You're a dip shit. I've been a non-smoker most of my life, and smoked for about a year, so I know both sides of this. It should be up to the business owner if he wishes to have smoking in his establishment or not. You shouldn't be begging big brother government to step in and legislate their rights away from them just because you're a selfish prick who can't take your money where they meet your personal preferences.
@pumarunner88 actually you are the dip shit =) As for your articulation, it is lacking in your argument. And no ones begging "big brother" to step in. By the way, if you want a cig. GO THE FUCK OUTSIDE. I have a feeling this isnt about cigs for you anyway..its just your anti-goverment issues. Sad
@soniasonia You completely dodged my primary point - the government STOLE the rights of business owners to choose whether or not they would allow smoking in their establishments. YOU have every bit of ability to go to places that choose not to allow smoking, but you intrude on the rights of others by getting government to force legislation against them. What are you going to do when the government infringes on a right you care about? You're glad to take others' rights, but not your own. STFU.
@pumarunner88 . Trust me I know what you mean. I would never stand down if abortion was made illegal. But you need to pick and chose your battles. You care about where people can smoke? Thats your fight? really?
@soniasonia You basically just admitted that you are extremely biased and agenda-driven, here. This isn't about freedom at all to you, you just don't like smokers or being around smoke. Going by your profile, I'd say you're a woman - obviously, you'd have a LOT more personal reasons to stand up for the rights of women to have abortions than I as a man would. However, I fight for fucking freedoms, and not just my own that directly effect me, but others as well. Quit being a selfish bitch.
@soniasonia By doing this, you also proved my point that you would indeed care a hell of a lot of the government stepped in and took freedoms from us that you personally cared about. I'm a complete atheist, but I could make a much better argument for abortions being illegal than I could for putting all these bullshit stipulations on tobacco. Neither abortion nor smoking should be getting banned, but we should be educating ourselves and making our own personal choices based on that education.
@soniasonia And for the record, I'm not even a smoker! I just know that giving the government such excessive power to take away our rights is bad in general. How you fail to see this is just crazy to me. One day it's the choice to smoke that you once had that you may not have personally cared about, the next it's something you DO care about. Seriously stop and think before you bow down and give up your rights so willingly!

your the governments BITCH for lack of a better term your paying them to get rid of you however slow and painless or painful that my be sad isnt the tabacco makes you addicted and takes away that chioce you annitally had before you took tht first puff. I dont support the idea of "taking liberties and rights away" but technically when you think about it the governmet already has they just made it legal. Bottomn line they shoundt legalize something that could or would potentally kill you ..
@Anoni18 "Bottomn line they shoundt legalize something that could or would potentally kill you"
Anything you do could potentially kill you. Shouldn't we have the rights to take that health risk for a little pleasure? If not, where will our rights be?
Acutally my friends and fellow you tubians heres the thing ciggates no matter how "bad" they are for you they will never get banned you know why cause it just anthoter way for the government to make money of of use sorry but its try and that "buissness" makes billions of dollars off of souls just like the real satan dont get me wrong i dont really care if you want to kill your self but peopel act like its a "chioce" tht they smoke its not dont you undersatnd tht after the first few puffs ..
I just have an issue with one of your points, mate. You say there are risks with everything that you DO and I agree, we all subconsciously accept these risks every day and you claim to have the right (which you do) to smoke, but I NO LESS EQUALLY have the right NOT to breathe secondhand smoke. I'm sure you're considerate of others when you smoke, but smokers are still the ones DOING something to others. Non-smokers are the ones who have to live with it. Your right does not exceed ours. Thoughts?
@Saturninefilms No offense Cody, but if you are afraid of guns, you are a pussy.
Guns are simply tools like a kitchen knife. 11,000 Americans are killed by firearms, 40,000 Americans are killed by vehicle accidents. You are afraid of guns but you are not afraid of driving your car.
@Saturninefilms Yo Cody, Have You Tried Rolling Your Tobacco Instead Of Buying Pack ?
I Found That Kite (My Favorite Brand) Is WAY Better Quality Tobacco Than Any Pack Plus You Get More Cigarettes From A $4.00 Kite Bag Than A Pack From The Gas Station.
So Not Only Is It More Cigarettes For Less Money, It's Also Better Quality Tobacco...Win Win :)
@Saturninefilms okay i agree with you completely (even though i dont smoke) but i dont want to see one of my favorite youtubers dead or dying cause of cancer
@thefallofhousedenari The government is fast taking away any sort of "classiness" cigarettes ever had with all these new laws banning all sorts of them. If they had it their way, Marb Reds would be considered top tier quality tobacco.
@TheHumbleCat Sorry, wrong answer. There's this little thing called "global warming" that could quite possibly destroy this entire planet; and one of the primary causes of this is ACTUAL pollution. Second hand smoke might kill a couple people, but pollution has already caused thousands in the last few years.
And... Legislation isn't a bad thing, to much legislation is. If passing a law can keep stupid people from doing stupid things, than it should be passed.
There are so many holes in his arguments... Wow all he did was make as much noise as he could, and curse a little and he has so many people brainwashed. He says it's selfish to ask people to smoke where it doesn't affect other people. But that's backwards, if you want to smoke anywhere anytime and don't care how it affects others, that's the most selfish fucking thing you can do. 1 star for this immature bastard
@Rakdyne I wouldnt worry about that. The goverment makes money off taxing cigs. But then again all the money thats spent on medicare for old people with emphysema doesnt makes up for it in taxes. hmm...
the paralell to abortion doesnt work at all, because abortions arent a habit. you are a fucking crybaby, addicted to your poison. maybe i should chew tobacco and spit all over people and their property in public. because that wont give them cancer, and it isnt hurting anybody, right? whats a little spit in the face compared to me servicing my pathetic addiction.
Cody I have two words for you. Bill Hicks. The most badass fucking smoker of all time. He made smoking cool for forever. Fact. He didnt give a fuck about people bitching. Neither should we. He is rolling over in his grave because of all the pussies.
So if your supposed to have the CHOICE to take risks, than cigarettes should be banned in public buildings as they are now. When you smoke in a public building like a restaurant, you are TAKING AWAY the other people's ability to CHOOSE. You are essentially forcing them to take a risk, like forcing someone to have an abortion, by simply being near them. As long as they don't go any further with bans, its right where it should be. And BTW, I'm not bothered by people smoking near me...
Wow. Cody may have been making a good point here and there (like allowing establishments to decide for themselves whether or not they allow smoking) but he took such an immature approach to dealing with this one guy that disagreed with him.
Honestly, I'm mostly with Cody, but I can't say that the other guy isn't wrong about the negatives that others have to deal with when they shouldn't have to. That's the whole idea about having personal rights so long as it doesn't intrude upon others.
Some kneejerk reactionary might think that you are saying that laws against rape, murder, incest, exploitation, slavery and soforth are bad. You couldn't be saying that. I'm sure you didn't mean that if someone used asbestos as a stuffing in childrens toys that those people should be free from oversight or prosecutuon. Right?
And pretty much anyone can get cancer at any age for absolutely no reason at all. My aunt got lung cancer and died when she never smoked in her entire life! The worst thing about cigs other than the price is that they do increase your chances, but so does eating at Burger King or even walking outside, supposing you live in a big city like Detroit or Chicago. I am much more for weed, DMT and shrooms legal rights because they at least put you in a happier place. Cigs just eat up your wallet.
I remember when people smoked in movie theatres, hospitals, offices, etc. After my grandmother had a heart attack and was on oxygen in ICU she asked when she could have a cigarette. She didn't stop after 2 heart attacks and cancer. Smoking is a very pleasurable addiction and in a perfect world, people could smoke as much and wherever they pleased. However, I'm glad there are restrictions. Btw, I've never had to smell car exhaust while eating lunch or trying to work.
@ANOMTOfficial I live in Los Angeles. But car exhaust wouldn't affect me like cigarettes in the office or restaurant. As far as cancer, yes you can get it for many reasons; my brother died of cancer at 15 years old. My point about my grandmother was that her addiction caused her to suspend all logic regarding cigarettes. She was asking to smoke while still on oxygen; she wanted the hospital to take her off oxygen asap in order to smoke.
Cigs has different effects on everyone. Like I said, I started smoking when I had just barely started puberty and I never got addicted and nothing bad ever happened to me other than I had to waste all my money.
When I was 11 years old, I started smoking because I thought it looked cool and I wanted to fit in and look older. Then when I was 15, I stopped because it began to cost too much and I no longer cared about looking cool. I have always wondered, why do people smoke other than to just look cool? It never satisfied me in any way. I never got addicted or anything. The government makes such a huge motherfucking deal of it, but really it's not much different than chewing a piece of gum.
I smoke, I love it, I won't stop, fuck non-smokers that are all up in your face about it. You don't smoke? Fine, but don't whine if I chose to do it. Fuck the government of Sweden that puts taxes on my cigs so that they cost the equivalent of 7.20 US dollars a pack. And just because of that, there's fucking 19 cigs in each pack now. You can't even split that even with someone.
If you don't want to fucking smell don't fucking smoke. and don't hang around other people who smoke. it's not our job to protect how you fucking smell. It's your call to be around it. YOUR NOT GOING TO DIE FROM ME SMOKING OUTSIDE OF STOP AND SHOP. You only can die from 2'd hand smoke in a constant smoke filled environment, witch is your god damn choice. It's our right to ingest any god damned chemicals we want to. so stop your fucking bitching. (not cody)
Cody, I've been subscribed to you for a long time and I agree with you on many issues, but on this one you're full of shit. There is a difference between personal freedom to smoke and inflicting your smoking on others. If you want to smoke, that's fine, do it by yourself or with consenting others on private property. You wouldn't find me coming up and jacking off on your face while you're sitting on a park bench and then pulling out a bullshit "freedom and rights" argument to justify it.
Cody, I get what you're saying, and to an extent I agree with it, I love your vids.
But The freedom to smoke, which I support despite not being a smoker, can effect the freedom to not breath second hand smoke. You don't always have the luxury of moving away from a smoker and toddlers lack the ability to understand the dangers of second hand smoke.
I guess I'm saying that it's not a clear cut as you make it to be because some freedoms are in direct opposition of each other.
Oh!
PS The guy's face scared me when I played the video.

How come no one is addicted to second hand smoke?
A retarded question yeas but it's worth a thought. I'm not a doctor but I'd say it's more dangerous to stand in proximity to a running hummer than a chainsmoker.
Ze8us 9 months ago

WerewolfOfTheWater 11 months ago
@WerewolfOfTheWater Secondhand smoking is no more dangerous than car fumes. Perfumes are more likely to cause allergic reactions.
If we'd about your way, both of those would be banned too. Do you see the problem in your logic?

@MidMASS2 People don't need cigarettes to get to and from work and pick their kids up from school.

@WerewolfOfTheWater Well, what about the people who drive cars for less important reasons? Hell, people can ride a bike to work, they can buy an electric car etc.

I have a lung disease...Cigarettes make me cough a ton...nothing near as bad.this is a matter of health. I should have the right to not be poised by the people that choose to smoke. You have the right to smoke outside. It's fair

I also remember choking on some shit a girl in my 11th grade math class sprayed.

To all these anti-smoking clowns... so you don't like peoples' right to choose to smoke, so you want to over-regulate it to fit your selfish agenda. Well, fine, but how are you going to feel when Big Brother starts laying the smack down on a right or rights you actually give a shit about? What then? Are you still going to whine, or are you going to rationalize why it is okay for them to jack more of our rights right from under us? Either of those reactions would be terrible choices to make.
pumarunner88 1 year ago
@pumarunner88 anti-smoking clowns? really. Im not anti smoking, hell i could give a shit if you pay 5 bucks a day to burn paper and inhale it. A product that was purposly made addictive just so they can take your money. Your right. we are the fools. Just its a matter of being a considerate human being that when a non smoker wishes to eat in a restaurant, they can smell their delicious food and not the smell of shit. Smokers dont realise how strong the smell is to a non smoker.
soniasonia 1 year ago
@soniasonia You're a dip shit. I've been a non-smoker most of my life, and smoked for about a year, so I know both sides of this. It should be up to the business owner if he wishes to have smoking in his establishment or not. You shouldn't be begging big brother government to step in and legislate their rights away from them just because you're a selfish prick who can't take your money where they meet your personal preferences.
pumarunner88 1 year ago
@pumarunner88 actually you are the dip shit =) As for your articulation, it is lacking in your argument. And no ones begging "big brother" to step in. By the way, if you want a cig. GO THE FUCK OUTSIDE. I have a feeling this isnt about cigs for you anyway..its just your anti-goverment issues. Sad
soniasonia 1 year ago
@soniasonia You completely dodged my primary point - the government STOLE the rights of business owners to choose whether or not they would allow smoking in their establishments. YOU have every bit of ability to go to places that choose not to allow smoking, but you intrude on the rights of others by getting government to force legislation against them. What are you going to do when the government infringes on a right you care about? You're glad to take others' rights, but not your own. STFU.
pumarunner88 1 year ago
@pumarunner88 . Trust me I know what you mean. I would never stand down if abortion was made illegal. But you need to pick and chose your battles. You care about where people can smoke? Thats your fight? really?
soniasonia 1 year ago
@soniasonia You basically just admitted that you are extremely biased and agenda-driven, here. This isn't about freedom at all to you, you just don't like smokers or being around smoke. Going by your profile, I'd say you're a woman - obviously, you'd have a LOT more personal reasons to stand up for the rights of women to have abortions than I as a man would. However, I fight for fucking freedoms, and not just my own that directly effect me, but others as well. Quit being a selfish bitch.
pumarunner88 1 year ago
@soniasonia By doing this, you also proved my point that you would indeed care a hell of a lot of the government stepped in and took freedoms from us that you personally cared about. I'm a complete atheist, but I could make a much better argument for abortions being illegal than I could for putting all these bullshit stipulations on tobacco. Neither abortion nor smoking should be getting banned, but we should be educating ourselves and making our own personal choices based on that education.
pumarunner88 1 year ago
@soniasonia And for the record, I'm not even a smoker! I just know that giving the government such excessive power to take away our rights is bad in general. How you fail to see this is just crazy to me. One day it's the choice to smoke that you once had that you may not have personally cared about, the next it's something you DO care about. Seriously stop and think before you bow down and give up your rights so willingly!

I'm sure you're considerate of others when you smoke, but smokers are still the ones DOING something to others. Non-smokers are the ones who have to live with it. Your right does not exceed ours.

ANOMTOfficial 1 year ago
