2. No. Special forces are still involved, but they aren't running the show. 2. No. Special forces are still involved, but they aren't running the show. They aren't rebuilding the country, they aren't convincing farmers to grow crops instead of opium, they aren't providing security in troubled areas against the Taliban. They lead some of the attacks, help gather intel, but that's about it. They're not MPs, they're not civil engineers.

Privatization works, Chile did it over 30 years ago. By Government mandate, they guarantee to their citizens that the Government would compensate anyone who didn't reach a minimum payout.
Not only has NO ONE in the country taken them up on it over the 30 years, on average they earned 2-3 times that minimum. We could be the same.

I believe Romney is the strongest candidate of all, he has the experience and leadership quality to get this country going in the right direction, he has done it in the private sector and knows what he is talking about. Mitt or Newt in my oppinion are the only 2 that I believe could go toe to toe with Obama in debate, but I am voting for Romney. I believe he can make America strong again! You wont hear Mitt saying, If u love me you will help me get this bill passed!!! This is our President?!

@Fringe111 How does it show leadership? What was he going to say "no, even though he's the most wanted man in the world, responsible for killing thousands of Americans, I think I'll let him go." He was given intelligence, and he gave an order to capture or kill. The leadership was from that seal team, not Obama. And Cain was a CEO, Obama, at the peak of his experience, was a senator for 2 years, of which he campaigned for president, so please tell me how hee was qualified.

When I look at all the videos of this debate, there’s only one kind of comment with “thumbs up”:
The ones mentioning Ron Paul.
So obviously, no matter how much the media try to ignore his success or manipulate straw poll results, the message reaches the awakening people anyway, no matter what they try.
Ron Paul is so good, he simply promotes himself and doesn’t need the media attention at all to bring his message and insights.
This makes the establishment very nervous obviously

@artz139 I do not believe the size of government is of any concern, big or small, the biggest problem we run into right now is the transparancy factor. A government, no matter what size, needs to be transparent to eliminate waste. We have enemies not because of our freedom, but because we meddle in affairs that we simply need not meddle. Taiwan being the most glaring example other than Israel.

@SocialDissimulation It’s certainly true that there are plenty of examples of inconsistent and even hypocritical American policies towards corrupt or abusive governments. To the extent America is guilty of such hypocrisy, it deserves criticism. But it is misleading to name this as the main reason for why we have enemies abroad, as if all would be forgiven if we were consistent in word and deed. It would not. The hatred is pre-existing

@whimywimp Gold you moron. It's not that Hollywood, there's a reason why it was called the "Wild West", and that's not because they sat drinking tea and eating crumpets all day. It's because there was rarely a law man or official in the area, and the towns took care of themselves. Sometimes being wiped out at will by neighboring, war-tribes. Size of government does not matter, it's the transparancy that matters. If you know the direction, then you can make a reasonable adjustment.

The last decade 2000 to 2010 has had the smallest rate of population growth in a 160 years and coincides with the biggest nanny state government California has ever had,and this in spite of silicon valley and illegal immigration.

I absolutely agree with you 100% about the transparency of government, however the "grow and worship the government crowd" are only paying lip service to transparency. Obama promised transparency, and getting rid of lobbyists and he did the exact opposite. He expanded lobbying. Pelosi's new transparency rule is we have to pass a bill to find what's in it.
Should we be growing this government? Should we not fix it before growing?

@SocialDissimulation I never said that they moved west because of less government for the very simple reason that even if it was true it would be impossible to prove.But it is equally impossible to prove that they did not move there for that reason and therefore to say that they definitively did not move there for that reason is a lie.All I did was present evidence of people migrating away from big government to less government.World migration presents the same pattern of escape from socialism.

Any other argument aside from the big/small government argument? The government was even smaller back then, all around, the point is they moved for resources. And small government was the reason towns were burned to the ground, outlaws ran some towns and Western America has seen some of the most lawless areas in our history.
