  • That's an RDL you're doing, not an SLDL. SLDLs start with the concentric and have less knee bend. That being said, very solid lifts.

  • These are more Romanian deadlifts than stiff-legged. But, that doesn't change the fact that you get five stars.

  • When you do Romanians, you are supposed to push your hips back and your knees bend more. When you do stiff-legs, you just bend over and your legs stay more straight.

  • adding to what justice is saying, with a SL your ass tends to push out way more. but ditto on the great job, I never really thought this was a lift people did excessive weight with... guess that thoughts wrong

  • that gym is hardcore, i can honestly say in all my time training i have never seen a gym with a specialised platform for stiff leg deadlifts. awesome!

  • rdl start w/knees bent @ a squat. the lifting force 2 get the bar off the floor starts w/the quads. it's a good exercise 2 do for quads as an alternative 2 the squat if u have compression problems w/your lower back. nother variation is the sumo w/legs spread & bent @ the knees w/feet pointed away from ea. other like a sumo wrestler. skola's stiff leg lift is very good; the slight bend in knees takes a lot of stress off lower back. considering the amount of weight it's actually an excellent lift

  • I think you're confusing SLDL's with regular deadlifts...  as for the pop music, thats what my gym plays... it doesnt bother me, I block it out when I'm lifting anyways.

  • Yeah, my SLDL's are more of a hybrid. I've found that if I bend my knees slightly and don't let my lower back go below parallel I can keep the stress on my hamstrings, instead of my lower back.
