Check when the Industrial Revolution happened...
Before that, people were simply *dying*. Famine, as yo fear, was a constant at that time. People wouldn't reproduce more just because they wouldn't live long enough for it.
Capitalism and science brought us the means to produce much more with much less, and now, with 6 billion people, we have enough resources to live much better than when we were hundreds of millions.
I don't think the earth can cope with 9 Billion people. More people than resources. We all know what happens when there are more people than the earth can cope with, people go hungry and die, sadly. Less people than resources, earth is ok, same people than resources, earth is ok. More people than resources, earth can not cope, people sadly end up dieing to make things equal again :(.
I think so too. I think the main problem are places that wealth is seen as the size of your family, they need to learn that they should not have huge populations if they can not support them. Anyone saying contraception is wrong seem not to relise it's a nessary evil in this world, or the populastion would sky rocket and that would probably cause more suffering out there. I think it's about getting the balance between Quantity of people and quality of life.
@Iamtheman4u2 I wish every1 could hear you and stop having babies specially in 3rd world cuntries... they just dont understand the gravity of this problem in the year 2050 there will be 20 billion people on earth... Food will be have to made in labs to feed most of the population... so forget about eating healthy by the year 2050. Unless we stop fucking just to have children we are doomed
