Best model kits ever... from the box art all the way to the kit itself... pure magic. I wonder if the Aurora company had an idea how much fun they bought to us kids growing up in the 70's?... I've still got all the original Glow In The Dark series.... the boxes have long gone sadly but the kits are all complete..
Great video! To all Famous Monsters of Filmland fans these were a great series of Monster Kits I love James Bama's Aurora Monster Kits Cover Art paintings! They were splendid and I've always loved these classic pieces of artwork!
still have the original completed kit .Got it from a model shop in llandudno in wales whwn i was on holiday there with my parents.Brought back some memories as it has always been my favourite model that i have ever built
I got the original forgotten prisioner kit from a model shop in llandudno in wales when i was on holiday there with my parents.I remember the kit being supplied with both glow in the dark and normal plastic pieces for the bones of the skeleton so you could choose.I still have the completed model at home being a bit dusty now which adds to the character! and on show.Seeing this model again brought back some memories of building it and it has always been my favourite and took care of it for years
i recieved my forgotten prisoner by Jeff - it's one brilliant kit, cast in a light blue resin, but i just wish Monsters in Motion would put a painting guide inside the box, as some of the colours used on the back of the prison wall are not shadows but paint effects, and most of the 70 people that are actually going to complete the kit would like to know various colours and effects used on it..if anyone knows of the rear wall shade of purple etc, i would love to know..
It was a generic kit hatched by Aurora & Famous Monsters of Filmland magazine. They did the Witch as well. The worst kit Aurora ever put their name on hands down. Feel free to argue. lol

Guess I should have kept all the original model kits I had as a kid.
I built and painted every model seen in this video except for Bride of Frankenstein.
Now I'm 50 years old and those models are long gone.
I'm only left with inspiration and sadness that I did not keep those original kits.
Oh well.......

I believe the Forgotten Prisoner was based on a comic strip in Creepy magazine, a sister of Famous Monsters of Filmland.

I still have the original copy of the magazine. What most people don't know is that the model came out before the story did.
