But the rope itself spoils the surprise element.
They need a rope bag. Not sure where they should fasten it though?
Maybe on the chest, with the opening upwards(towards the head)?
But then it would be unsuitable for regular rappelling.
yes, there is a rope bag specifically made for tactical rappel. its usually black and good for at least 100 feet/30 meters, depending on what diameter and length of rope your using. the bag is attached to the leg where your brake hand is,and is easily detachable upon touchdown because of velcro. i guess this video is for demo purposes
I don't have any formal training on this either! But I think it is for easier viewing on rescue and spying. If your coming down a narrow hole I guess... or spying on a suspect/subject while having the advantage of defense and the element of surprise.
