  • I would call them 'dimensions', rather than components... I have a question, can I use saltwater lightning for a fish-only non-saltwater aquarium? Will it harm the fish?

  • can someone answer me this. wat can a 48 watt support. like wat kind of corals or anemone. and tell me wat those corals and anemone eats too. thank you. =D

  • This guy's cool. Better than the speakers at expert village.

  • @Aviator1510 expert village is the village idiot.

  • notice he said qualified, this guy isnt qualified to pull his jock down

  • What you are saying about cramming a bunch of bulbs under the hood is wrong. No matter how many Normal output lamps you use they will never produce the par needed for a reef. One thing you forgot to mention is with any Fluorescent bulb a reflector is almost always needed.

  • @schwa6970

While true, he is talking about the wattage needed per gallon. 0.5-1 for a FO and 3-5 for a FOWLR. If one bulb was the same nm as reef lights yet it did not have enough wattage, you could put more light to cover a bigger surface and to meet the wpg requirements.

  • so let me get this stright and someone let me know

for most tropical fish you dont need to put a reef in your tank.. the fish can surrvive without them

  • @h1n1v1rus yes thats correct. You don't need a reef for most tropical fish. Just good filtration.

  • How much is 30 watt ... to K? plz reply

  • K is a way we measure the type of frequencie of light ,,, for instance i use 5500 Kelvin degrees metal arc halaide 1000 watt [ its blue light ] but does appear blue ,,, its just the way we measure it ,,, so if you were to put it through a prism the band of blue would be thicker in the [ rain bow ] that come out the other side of the prism ,,,, does that make sence ? i dont know how or where hes getting his light ratings from but i have never seen a 10, 000 k light bulb for floresent

  • great video. all the other salt water aquarium videos try to scare me out of getting one

  • lol are you a retard?

  • Kellyrt..............are you trash! now fuck off and stay away from my page! "retard"!!

  • can i use led for my salt water reef

  • how does it work for you ? i ve heard of them but have nt used them

  • @lesterclaypool1 ok but u have to use a stornger light

  • so a 1000 watt metal acr haliade isnt enough power ? flouresent tubes are 30 watts ,,,, so what do you sugest ? what flouresent is stronger than this ?

  • @lesterclaypool1 no metal acr haliade a 25 watt cfl two of them one blue and one wihte light ok use a compact filter that u hang on the back of tank

with all stages and a 3 gal hex or etc use a 25w heater the one u have to put in the tank and a small power head

  • this is an informative video.

    Thanks!

  • Is there any danger in using a blacklight from time to time for an hour or so in a FOWLR tank?

  • i dont think so.. why?

  • yes ,,, black light produces uv light and uv light actually kills the algae that lives in corals and anemones and also kills beneficial bacteria
