  • We really miss Mike Delaney In Sonoita!

  • Sorry Arlen was good but danny gatton was way better than him thats why they called gatton the humbler cause he could mop the floor with these guitarist

  • I thought danny gatton was master of the telecaster...

  • @synesthesia67 Albert Collins, Roy Buchanan, Danny Gatton, Arlen Roth: "Masters of the Telecaster!"

  • i agree i started out with arlens books a big part of my life so glad to see him still going

  • he does free lessons on gibson.com

  • i,m ashamed to say i didnt really know about him to now,, but wow what a talent..

  • you dont have to have new string sto sound good, i havent changed my strings in 4 months, you think muddy waters changed his strings every week??

  • Those acoustic strings need to be changed Arlen...

+ don't sing... otherwise a very good player.

  • @bluesgurugod calm down now!

  • un-frickin'-believable

  • This man must have a unbelivable Licklibrary in his head! And all CLEAN,

    without distortion.......

  • he's a propper "guitar hero " in my opinion one of the best guitar players ever ever ever---

  • he rocks damn arlen is so great

  • he rocks damn arlen is so great

  • Legend!!

  • holy crap, i havent seen this guy since i bought my hot licks VHS tape, i thought he was still some skinny brian may looking guy!

  • I was just starting out on guitar when Arlen was part of Guitar Player Magazine lesson line up in the 80's and it was also right when his Hot Licks video tape series came out. What a wonderful time to be learning guitar.

  • With all the effort that was spent on extraneous post-production for this video, you'd think they'd at least remember to make sure the sound is coming out of BOTH speakers in HQ.

  • Well Delaney Guitars rank up there with the innovattive ideas the late Les Paul shared with the world. Glad to see Arlen Roth associated with Delaney Guitars. Howdy Mike, we miss you in Montana

  • Arlen Roth is "THE MAN " all guitarist in the world should say Thank you to him for all the job he has done and still ... what a guy !

    All the best .

    Paco .

  • Such a great player, but it was even better to hear such a cool in depth interview.

  • Arlen Roth's work has helped me beyond words. i recommend his books to any serious guitar player. A beautiful person, and a great teacher

  • I met Him at Daddys junkie Music Session in New Hampshire in 1993 and talked to him about his part in the movie Cross Roads. He was Ralp Machios real teacher and wrote 5 of the songs in the movie, he had to bring a Law Suit against the studio because they didnt include him in any of the movies credits. Most think it was Ry Cooder and steve Vie, if you listen when he plays the metal guitar its one of the songs from Crossroads, I wish he would make a video about what he did in the movie

  • wow, the way he speaks makes me see own much he loves what he does and the amount of wisdom he has, i wish i could take lessons from him, he seems like the kind of teachers that really cares that the students learns and not just teach.

  • We are so proud of the fact that Arlen chose to use a guitar we made for him on this video. He's an amazing artist and we are grateful for his friendship and support.

    Mike Delaney

  • Arlen Roth is a true great. He is the one and only person I have encountered in the world of guitar who loves the instrument so much that he has studied it from every angle and under every light. Most importantly, he plays with his heart and absolutely no ego which is one of the two things that makes him a great teacher, the other being that he is willing to share all of this knowledge with whoever is willing to take it in.
