  • what is the name of the song at the end?

  • praying mantis very good to cach bugs lmao i heard that in a couple of kung fu movies i am a big fan of the whole martial arts and all that

  • Hehehe...it's a funny saying, that's why it was included in the sequence. Thanks a lot for watching and commenting.

  • @fernandomgm jacky chan said it in his last movie with jet li. the other one is jet li's sayin:

The horse stance is a very good stance......for taking a dump.

  • @xxxKenseIxxx Yes, Jack chan actually did say that in his last movie, but he wasnt the first one to say that. Several kung Fu movies feature this saying.

  • Wow, I'm glad this conversation is over...

Seriously dudes... Isn't martial arts supposed to make your inner peace stronger?

marktl82, you were fine in the video, that's the true. You got some cool moves and all.

gungrave4ever, I can see you know martial arts but since you don't practice kung fu, maybe you should just accept what he's saying and move on. Again, I respect your opinion, it's just I too think the mantis was ok.

Now guys, let's all be friends, ok?

  • Let's see if you'll start to behave as a person who can be reasonable and worthy the talking.

I'm eager to see if you're gonna start some thing that makes senses. Because until now, you just talked, talked, and the conversation didn't move a inch.

    Best wishes, boy

  • A person that say know too much as you say, you should have a better memory. Specially when you're saying thing about a entire generation of masters and pupils. You're allowed to do whatever you want to do? Just don't say bullshit when you can't be certain of that. Wich books have you read? What schools have you entered? Simples questions, isn't it?

Now, unless you starts answering some of this questions, you'll be always a nervous boy that just screams 'cause don't know the answer.

  • Let me ask one thing that you'll probably know how to answer. You told me that you practices ninjutsu and bushido. So, from what schools do you learn both?

Oh yes, talk about Bruce Lee as a 70+ practioneer, wasn't very smart.

You really want to know who I train under? Really easy, as I actually remember this things. It's Mei Hua Tang Lang Quan, studied under Master Li Wing Kay, the lineage comes from Master Chang Fu Chen.

Simple, isn't it? What kung fu school's you visited in your city?

  • Ok Gungrave, once again you talk tak, and say absolutly noting. It would be easier if you just answered what was asked. You keep trying to say things that I didn't say. But that's ok, now I know how much do you know to criticize the video. Again, I didn't backfire anything, you just knew that it was the only way for you to know more about the mantis style. Again, you observed a lot, who do you met that do kung fu around your place? You're from Germany, too bad I didn't know this before.

  • Are you nervous boy? Because your tone suddenly becames really agressive. You lack of knowledge and the incapacity to understand even what I'm talking makes me consider.

Do you do reviews in videos based in all this knowledge that you have? If yes, your credibility ir seriously shaken. But it's easy to see that you're one more that talks a lot more than know. That the huge ego don't let to know when talked bullshit and how to learn from that.

Continue in your rage, I'm really laughing a lot.

  • Yes, my concepts are really wrong. Just because I stay at home watching pictures of mantis practioneers. Thank god I wasn't in Ulm last week in a World Championship, where I had the chance to exchange lots and lots of knowledge.

And what mantis style you had observated? From wich master and lineage?

You just came here shoting reviews about how martial wrong the video was in some points. And of course, full with selective reading, including trying to win the discussion in Might makes right.

  • You met 70+ practicioneers?? Good for you, but, what's their names? Or you don't recall. I met more than a thousand of practioneers and can tell the bullshit you are saying like "Might makes right".

*Yet you want to insist this stance I know is wrong, and your low heavy style is right.*

Selective reading attacks again. My god, can you even read right? I never told this, again, read all over again, you need it. I never thought you could be so lost in this discussion, but you really are.

  • Again saying things that I don't said. Who said anything about you attacking the mantis style? Came back and read everything all over again. And I never talked about how big is my knowledge, I don't need to do this. But as you're trying to reverse the reviews, let's go back and see who start criticizing something that doesn't even know.

Again showing that your big knowledge. Korean are more close to the Japanese than the chinese, specially when Taekwondo comes in scene.

  • Only in your world martial arts techniques can't be used in a movie in a way that looks better. Of course, you can read "stances just doesn't work" as they don't work on the real world, or as any normal person would read, like they wouldn't look good in this video.

It' funny how you can wait to write a critic but can't wait to see the times appointed, really nice of you. Any irony u use, won't change the fact that they are there.

I see, you still fdon't figure out the stance thing, too bad

  • Man, you really have problems, but let's take some time to answer you. I actually had all this in reply, but for some reason the youtube just didn't show them, so I wrote them as a normal post. I didn't had the need to warn you, because I know your ego would bring you back here soon. And I thought it was rude to go call you.

Contradicting myself, only if you have a selective reading. That's the problem when someone can't interpret a text. They just don't get right what's written.

  • *they all train with the same idea: "Might makes right." As evidenced in this video, as evidenced by your writing.*

Once again you show the total lack of information and prejudice. I don't know which kind of kung fu you met, but it's my duty to say that you were mistaken.

Oh yes, I forgot, you're the one who cames saying what you don't know and I'm weighting and being might. I don't care if you like or not my tone, that's your problem. But I'm gona say once more. Time to review your concepts.

  • For someone who cames here and talk about how big is the knowledge of kung fu. Reaching the point to say if we fight or not, you have a lot of prejudice and lack of information. Animals.... you just throw half of the kung fu styles that aren't based on animal on the garbage.

*The reason I don't practice kung fu, or any Chinese/Korean-based martial art ...*

Ok, good to you, but... who wants to know and why should I care about that?

  • *If the Chinese martial arts use the same stances in all styles, why bother to differentiate?*

Yes, you got the point, specially the one that you're mistaken. The stances don't make the kung fu style, it's just a base. Saying that certain stance is from a style or another ia a commom mistake from who don't know enough of kung fu. Strategic and fight dynamics are what really differentiates one from another.

*Why not just scrap the animals? all together and leave it "kung fu."*

  • Yes, glad you notice it. But again, how many times do we have to reminds you that this is a video simulation a classical kung fu movie. Realistic stances just doesn't work.

*I did not write, "Well, your Mantis style is wrong and it sucks." It's a very heavy-set Mantis style, and I certainly? didn't see any pincers.*

Who's saying that you said that? And the pincers again, one example of the classical one is at 0:50. But there's a lot more, like at 0:38, 1:03 and 1:05, and there's more.

  • Ok, here we go again. Once more you're showing more and more that you know much less than you say know. Let's clarify some things.

*Yes, praying manti have pincers for a reason: "for catching bugs."*

Great man, you caught the main idea, the original idea. But I bet you didn't see the sieze and catch that I made on the choreography. That's the basics of the mantis fighting style and defines every single branch form mantis boxing.

*But, once again, you constantly show a spread-hand stance*

  • Well, that explains a lot. Perhaps you should review your concepts about the mantis style. Because the mantis pincers have a reason to exist. If you pay attencion to the video, you'll see it many times, specially during the fighting scenes. About the high or semi low stances, if someones does it low or high doesn't change the fact that they are all there. Actually, in chinese martial arts, the stances are in the majority, the same in all styles.

  • It's really nice that you write to show all this. What mantis style do you practice? All the stances that I used are used in all mantis styles. Of course there're some adaptations, but they are all there.

The only thing that I saw, was to tell if we can fight for real or not by this video. That wasn't the intencion when we did this. Perhaps I will talk to Fernando to do a more real martial art video. Next time, we will have more experience in doing this.

  • Hello gungrave,

I'm the guy on blue shirt. Thanks for the feedback, but this isn't a video about how we do kung fu. But a video how we enjoy ourselves in a "kung fu movie".

I really would like to know were did you see me in a snake stance. All the posisitions that I made are praying mantis stances, with the exception of the drunken style.

Always remember that this is suppose to be fun, and not realistic at the extreme. But thanks for the comments.

  • Yeah! That was my goal. Though I think it's still clear that those are really good kung fu fighters.

  • Thanks a lot for the feed back. This is my first fighting video, so I've got a lot to learn before I can really do good job. The two actor do practice kung fu for like ten years or so. The technical aspects of their fighting stances were their job. As for the camera rolling, I do realize it'd give a more realistic look to the scene, but I think it'd compromise the tempo of the video.

  • Cool stunts, lol. Could've done without all the sound effects, but that's just me I guess. ^__^

  • Thanks. The idea with the sound fx was to make it look those old kung fu videos.

  • Awesome!!

  • Thanks a lot!

  • awesome effects at the beginning

  • thanks a lot!

  • tht was super kool n teh end wuz just lolz rely kool stuf

  • Thanks a lot! I'm really glad that you liked it that much!

  • fernando you continues astojnishing me with your videos, all well made and with a little bit of sperimentation and self irony. Great job.

PS: Death Note and Soul Eater music??!! Unbeliveble!

  • Thanks a lot! I'm glad that you liked it because that was my first try at kung fu videos.

PS: I know it sounds strange when you know where the music came from, but I think they've matched the video tempo like no other.

  • This is really cool!!! Nice tricks there.

But one... no two things: Make it more faster and do mor kamera movement. When you do it, its much faster and even more cooler ;)

5/5 anyway because its just great ^^

  • Thanks! I'll try to work on these suggestions. But please, have in mind that this was my first fighting video, so I'm still learning how to make this kind of video. And thanks for the rating.

  • That was freaking awesome~!! Especially the guy who wore the 'Shaolin' t shirt!-That was epic! Hahah!!

  • Thanks! I'll extend your praise to him as soon as I talk to him. I'm glad that you liked it.

  • hey...nice vid...honestly i think you guys are awsome...and whats the second soundtrack in the vid
