@go5gum It's a counter because the ball carrier's initial step is identical to that of the wildcat power play, which also features a play action end around.
Thier are many misderction plays, but the counter is amazing if it is set-up right. They run the jet sweep 2 or 3 times with success then come back with the same jet motion and pull the backside guard and tackle. Defense over persues the play and you get a nice 10 yards. Gotta love football.

ya a counter in football is when u fake to a running back and give it to another or take off on ur own. or another counter is when the runingback jab steps one way and goes back the other to get the ball
@go5gum uhmm no that would be an option...a counter is a cutback from one gap to another will at least 1 pulling linemen...in a wildcat formation the counter just runs the opposite way of the sweep....learn football bitch

@dutton65 an option is when the qb or half back has the choice to pitch the ball... technically since this play is a jetsweep the jetsweep could be pitched too.
there's no counter, its a off tackle action with a qb keeper, but not a counter :)
