This is the first time I hear this recording in a transfer without the hack at the To non mi VUOI più ben,in the end.
It is easy to understand that this recording earlier has been pointed out as the first recording of Caruso`s voice. Studenti udite! seems more advanced technically. Though I think Caruso is singing this simple song by his baritone colleague Pini - Corsi witn great enthusiasm, especially heard in this great transfer.
There is no difference as long as you're using the same reproducer and horn. There are some cosmetic differences such as the design of the topworks and the wooden (suit)case, of course. I upgraded mine with a larger carriage eye recently. With a Diamond B reproducer is does sound like an Amberola, all in one.
@EnerG15 well my edison home suitcase plays better than my other homes i have a home with a diamond b and all the fixens i uess ill have to post it i personly like suitcase home better my has an orignial sidearm reproducers and brush and all that so thats my take on the two great vid
You can mold cylinders. Early cylinders were not molded. In 1902 cylinders were coppied in molds using heat to expand a blank inside the mold and press the grooves into the record. I was wondering how they could press the grooves into a hard indestructable type record.
Incredible!

What is the difference in sound quality between the Edison home and Edison home suitcase?

How do you make a mold for these records?
Thanks

You can't. That's why they didn't use the phonograph format so long.

The master mold is made by a galvanic process, basically similar to what the early factories did.
