I've been playing hockey for 13 years and live in the Bay Area (go Sharks!) and that wasn't a dive IMO. In the area Crosby got hit, there is a nerve that rests on the bone. If that nerve gets hit the way it got hit there, it will just kill the leg. Three words: ASK BRENDAN MORROW. When the EXACT same thing happened to him, he ended up hopping off the ice on 1 foot, and knowing that he's 100* physically tougher than Crosby, that says alot about how it TRULY feels to get hit in that spot.

I've been playing hockey for 13 years and live in the Bay Area (go Sharks!) and that wasn't a dive IMO. In the area Crosby got hit, there is a nerve that rests on the bone. If that nerve gets hit the way it got hit there, it will just kill the leg. Three words: ASK BRENDAN MORROW. When the EXACT same thing happened to him, he ended up hopping off the ice on 1 foot, and knowing that he's 100* physically tougher than Crosby, that says alot about how it TRULY feels to get hit in that spot.

Here's my issue with Crosby hating comments. In game 5, crosby hacks Zetterberg in the front of his leg where there is padding and Zetterberg falls, so Crosby is called cheap and dirty. Now he's slashed in the back of his leg and falls and he's castigated for diving....this is why none of your or your fellow Crosby haters' opinions hold any water. You can't seem to look at things without extreme bias.

Did he embellish? Possibly. However I've been slashed before in my calf and it does hurt quite a bit. But maybe he was trying to draw a penalty, but you can't honestly believe he's the only person who does that in order to make sure the refs see the penalty. These guys are tying to win a game. You don't have to like that sort of play but you can't act like he's the only guy who does it. Plus

im a wings fan and a crosby fan so i dont really know what 2 think about this but i will say: maltby should have gotten a slashing call and sid should have been called for a dive...im a little biased towards crosby so i do think that its also tactics...if the ref doesnt see it clearly u lay down hoping for the other guy 2 get called...i dont like it that much but still its tactics
