BJ was a great performer, for sure! when is obams gonna get imprisoned, and then deported? Guy calls the cops. Send an officer over, there's a coon in my cellar. Cop says, be specific man, a raccoon or a nigger? Guy says, a raccoon, I'm a nigger. Go to: Her Name is Ms Ann. Then: Aaron Klein. Then: Larry Sinclair. Then: Phil Berg. Then: Rev. James Manning. This darkie must be jailed!

And for those who think I am inappropriate and not on topic and rambling and obnoxious and preachy .. I guess I am on youtube. It's my time to stop being mild-mannered and considerate.
Oh and this is my favorite BJ's song along with I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry.
I can't think of a better pop singer who could sustain a note better then BJT. I know this is 2008 session but he hasn't changed all that much since I first heard him in the mid-60's, I'm So Lonely I Could Cry.
I t was a treat to hear him 'harness' his strong voice to do a popular tune like Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head.
Way to keep going, BJ. I hope I get to hear you someday.
11xzxzxz, I can understand your lack of love for religion in general. The most horrible things are done in the name of religion. But do you think they are actually representative of the model set by Jesus Christ. NO!!!! Most religions are affected by the one in direct conflict with Jesus Christ and more importantly, his father. The adversary, Satan is behind the thinking of most religions of the world. Why else would religions back wars, hatred and become a prostitute to government.
Thanks for not calling me an Idiot as most Christians do. I do think religion is comforting but with Christianity I don't get Jesus if he really said "those who believe in the Son will have everlasting life and those who don't will have gnawing and gnashing of teeth at the gates of hell" (at the gates .. wait till you get inside the pearly gates..ha). And why should someone be stoned to death for working on the Sabbath and why should kids be killed for talking back to parents, etc.?
Padredecinco1 Cont. I can't see god as benevolent or even friendly in the Bible. Atheists/Agnostics do good and bad as most everyone else but live lives without heaven as the carrot on the stick. Studies show their morality is as high as believers (but more than 50% of American electorate will not vote for an Atheist - funny, after 9/11 the electorate was twice as likely to vote for a Muslim).
Cont. Padredecinco1 - With heaven and Jesus or whoever religious people think will be meeting them it is amazing that religious people aren't a hell of a lot more moral then Atheist who do good without salivating over heaven. I guess a good upbringing far outweighs a million visits to churches, etc
Five of our presidents were Agnostics. You should read what John Adams wrote about the Good Book - he wrote that it was Trash filled with bad morality and a terrible god.
Padredecinco1 Cont. I have read the Bible completely and yes it is filled with over 1,000 contradictions and a very vindictive god throughout the Old Testament.
I just don't get it: When a hundred people are killed in a plane crash and 1 survives the 1 and many others say "thank god .. he was looking after me". What a slap in the face to the other 99 and their families who were killed. Oh, I guess it was just their time. God decides everything.
Cont - Padredecinco1. What if the one survivor of the crash turned out to be Hitler? God works in mysterious ways?
Jesus knew less about the way the world works and science and how bacteria is spread .. well he knew less than what most 9 year old D students in school know.
Jesus wasn't a family values man - didn't see Mary for 20 years - purportedly said "mother what have ye to do with me?" Jesus believed in slavery "servants obey your masters". So sorry for preaching - no one listens ..
Padredecinco1 - I can't see how how if there was a god he wouldn't destroy all Bibles cause the Bible is full of sick stuff. It's not Satan it's gods actions that seem cruel and without morality. Take care, nothing personal, and I have religious friends.
You're right that the video would have been better with a zoom, but you captured BJ's best live version of "Hooked on a Feeling" on YouTube. Thanks for the upload!
Was recorded on a Sony cybershot digital camera, unfortunately my video camcorder usually gets too much attention at the door. So no zoom... but great sound! One of the best concerts I have been to in a long time. My parents grew up in Texas, as did I, and they went to dances that BJ Thomas and the Triumphs played. He has always been an artist that I have loved.
Every successful pop artist was a target to the 1960's "drug vulture" and other times victim of their own self aggrandizing or stupidity. Thomas got ripped off plenty of times and so did the Beatles, Joplin, Dylan and everybody else. erson who would agree to make the purchase.
so far the best audio recording on u-tube... and clear...but so tough to see his face.... that gorgeous face.... i don't care how old he is...so's paul newman.... where are the close shots,.... damn i'm at 2:31...
Q: Between your mgmt ripping you off & money you spent on drugs, you went thru $13million?
A: That's something that happens in the industry too. If you don't have honest people doing your business, there are gonna be situations like that. That was a long time ago and that memory doesn't hang with me. I'm sure there were lots of financial improprieties that went on. A lot of things happened in those days because the business wasn't being done to standard.

Perfect tempo and groove. It's amazing how often acts take their old hits and speed them up like they can't wait to get them over.
I've got to see this guy if he ever makes it to Portland OR.

BJ has been doing Christian music since 1975.
I've been thinking anti-religious thoughts all my life. The horror of religion.

WONDER WHAT THE BJ STANDS FOR???????

Anybody with half a brain could look up BJ Thomas on Wikipedia and discover that his full name is Billy Joe Thomas.
Sir John Gielgud: "You obviously have a wonderful economy with words. I look forward to your next syllable with great eagerness."
