I have seen this nearly 15 times now, and it still makes me laugh. I often thing of 'Jeffery' whenever I have to travel and it just makes me giggle. Everyone can relate to nearly everything he says in this, so darn funny. And it's "clean".

No, that ain't true. Carlin always pushed the envelope, like his predecessor, Lenny Bruce. Carlin at his raunchiest was some of his greatest. Problem was, he got bitter. Then he got old.

@MrShadyf0o I strongly disagree. George Carlin was just another brand of humor, but still humor. He had substance to his act and just reinvented himself, and it took a ton of guts for him to do that. The problem is the comedians who think humor is all just offensive material, vulgarity, and cursing.

A comedian who is funny is a comedian who is funny, whether or not he uses vulgarity in his act. The same exact thing could be said for Pryor.

@MrShadyf0o it should be at least noted that bill and george were very good friends and would often compete with each other in terms of audience response, etc. even race against each other for venues, and about getting to the hotel. clean and vulgarity come in comedy hand in hand. it depends on the comedy, and who is telling the joke. in comedy, nothing is taboo. quoted by carlin: it is the job of the comic to see where the line is drawn, and cross it intentionally.

@MrShadyf0o vulgarity doesn't matter. All words are made up. They just represent things. Vulgar words simply change the tone. Your mind is what makes you think its a bad tone. People don't want their children to hear vulgarity because they belive it distorts the mind, but it doesn't. If I heard a child say poop, I would laugh. If I heard a child say shit I would probably laugh a little bit harder because everyone thinks "you shouldn't say that, its bad." The aversion to vulgarity makes it funny

Ah yeah...I remember this coming out on HBO very well! My mom actually had that channel as we grew up (it wasn't the piece of shit it is now back then) and I remember being 12 when this aired and thinking it was the FUNNIEST thing I have ever seen! My mom and I would watch it over and over and she would laugh so hard. :) We quoted from this show over the years countless times too and we always got to laughing when we did. :) Thank you Bill Cosby for showing us humor can be classy.

People always talk about comedians like Bill Cosby and Sinbad and how they prove that you don't have to curse to be funny. I didn't know that needed proving. But you don't have to not curse to be funny either. Nevermind that Cosby curses in this show about 4 times but he along with George Carlin and Richard Pryor are some of my favorite comedians. Cursing has nothing to do with it. If you're funny you're funny, cursing or no cursing.

Bill Cosby was one of the first comedians I ever heard, and the first comedian I ever rewound a tape for. I had seen snippets of the Blue Collar tour, but thanks to my dad, Bill Cosby's stand-up was my childhood. We had four tapes of him that we listened to on long drives, and laughed at every joke. He was proof that you don't need to be profane to be funny, and when you get into less tasteful subjects, you don't have to be nasty about it.
