he seems like a grt dad n husband.he seems like the ideal dad of america but yrs ago there was news of him molesting a female?..i juz cant believe it..was it true?..hope it wasnt!
I have seen this nearly 15 times now, and it still makes me laugh. I often thing of 'Jeffery' whenever I have to travel and it just makes me giggle. Everyone can relate to nearly everything he says in this, so darn funny. And it's "clean".
If a comedian can be funny without resorting to cursing or vulgarity you know he is good. George Carlin fell to the dark side. Bill Cosby is just pure unadulterated hilarity.
@MrShadyf0o George Carlin was good, because of his very cynical and analytic view on everything. Bill Cosby is good because of his style and good use of language.
I would start cussing if I was an intellectual and saw all the shit in the world. Oh wait, I do. :P
No, that ain't true. Carlin always pushed the envelope, like his predecessor, Lenny Bruce. Carlin at his raunchiest was some of his greatest. Problem was, he got bitter. Then he got old.
@MrShadyf0o I strongly disagree. George Carlin was just another brand of humor, but still humor. He had substance to his act and just reinvented himself, and it took a ton of guts for him to do that. The problem is the comedians who think humor is all just offensive material, vulgarity, and cursing.
A comedian who is funny is a comedian who is funny, whether or not he uses vulgarity in his act. The same exact thing could be said for Pryor.
@MrShadyf0o it should be at least noted that bill and george were very good friends and would often compete with each other in terms of audience response, etc. even race against each other for venues, and about getting to the hotel. clean and vulgarity come in comedy hand in hand. it depends on the comedy, and who is telling the joke. in comedy, nothing is taboo. quoted by carlin: it is the job of the comic to see where the line is drawn, and cross it intentionally.
@MrShadyf0o vulgarity doesn't matter. All words are made up. They just represent things. Vulgar words simply change the tone. Your mind is what makes you think its a bad tone. People don't want their children to hear vulgarity because they belive it distorts the mind, but it doesn't. If I heard a child say poop, I would laugh. If I heard a child say shit I would probably laugh a little bit harder because everyone thinks "you shouldn't say that, its bad." The aversion to vulgarity makes it funny
@MrShadyf0o Agreed...I owned this video and wore it out...Mr. Cosby is a tremendous asset to his race....the human race..he has class and talent and doesn't need to resort to vulgarisms...true talents don't need that.
@MrShadyf0o George Carlin never fell anywhere. I once heard a phrase about sticks and stones breaking my bones but words never hurting me, words mean nothing alone, it's the intent that makes all the difference.
@MrShadyf0o fell to the dark side of what? speaking the way people speak in real life? i love cosby, but it has nothing to do with him being a "clean" comic. he's just great.
@MrShadyf0o fell to the dark side? what's wrong with vulgarity and cursing? The only thing that happened to Carlin was that he found his true voice as a social dissident. You clearly have no idea what you're talking about.
@16047827 He could, but why would he? They're just words. Are you so squeamish you can't bear to listen to someone say one of seven arbitrarily designated "dirty" words?

Was Bill Cosby ever young? Even in this older stand-up he looks middle-aged and needs to sit in a chair. Nowadays for his stand-up they roll him out on stage in a hospital bed.
I love this movie. I was a stepfather to 2 girls, for 19 years & when they did something wrong & I asked them why they did it. They say, "I don't know."
I remember first seeing this on HBO many, many, many years ago when I was but a small child. I laughed so hard I was literally rolling on the living room floor.

Ah yeah...I remember this coming out on HBO very well! My mom actually had that channel as we grew up (it wasn't the piece of shit it is now back then) and I remember being 12 when this aired and thinking it was the FUNNIEST thing I have ever seen! My mom and I would watch it over and over and she would laugh so hard. :) We quoted from this show over the years countless times too and we always got to laughing when we did. :) Thank you Bill Cosby for showing us humor can be classy.

@soyosune Same thing happened to me. I have a really loud laugh and the whole time i'm laughing my classmates were either giving me evil looks, or they were watching and not laughing. It's like they couldn't see what was so funny.

@BlaCkGorillA13 I feel really sad to disagree with you, but ever since he lost his son, he hasn't been the same. I saw him live not terribly long ago, and he wasn't the same Bill Cosby I had loved as a little kid.
@amberience ummmm i guess you haven't seen eddie murphy's Delirious Stand up show which came out the same year 1983.... because Eddie uses extremely profane language in it. So, yeah, Cosby really wasn't as profane as he could get those days.
@candyanime2 You know, bill cosby found one of his kids watching an Eddie Murphy comedy show, so he called up Eddie murphy and complained to him about being so inappropriate for kids. Then Eddie called up Richard Pryor and complained to him about Bill cosby complaining.
After a long day at High School, some friends and I would enjoy an herbal cigarette or two, watch my scratchy old VHS copy of Cosby Himself and laugh till we couldnt see straight....good times.
Well, I'm not 21, I'm 15 and I just love this humour... Stand up comedy is generaly my big passion... Bill Cosby, Dylan Moran, Gad Elmaleh, George Carlin,... all these wonderful people, how can you not love them?
No doubt about it - this is one of the best comedy routines ever! I can't see anyone watching this and not bursting with laughter unless they're dead.
@corkskrewclubhouse93@corkskrewclubhouse93 Cosby's parody rendition of "Just The Two of Us" by Bill Withers and Grover Washington Jr. I believe that is GWJ playing the sax here as well.
@Meighan618 There is one person who doesn't like the Cos...Howard Stern. In his "Private Parts" book when he rates comedians his review of the Cos was "Not funny...never was." I mean WTF Howard???
The people who dislike this, dislike it because they know comedy will never be as good as this anymore.

No doubt about it - this is one of the best comedy routines ever! I can't see anyone watching this and not bursting with laughter unless they're dead.

@corkskrewclubhouse93 @corkskrewclubhouse93 Cosby's parody rendition of "Just The Two of Us" by Bill Withers and Grover Washington Jr. I believe that is GWJ playing the sax here as well.

@Meighan618 There is one person who doesn't like the Cos...Howard Stern. In his "Private Parts" book when he rates comedians his review of the Cos was "Not funny...never was." I mean WTF Howard???
