anyone remember the pier of the late '50's and early '60's? it sagged in the middle.. and i froze my butt off trying to catch whiting in the winter.... now that is the "old pier".... but in summer it did have a ferris wheel... you got tosee the ocean first hand like you were going in...

@T9Z0R just so you know this is my new account. Anyway, I'm glad to hear you'regoing down on Friday, I'm a local so Iv'e been down 5 times. Its a legandary place. You're bound to love it, and as you said, yes the fire of the old model was a disaster but accidents happen, I miss it aswell but just like everyone else we just have to accept it. @westernboi05 I'm sorry to hear that it made you upset :-( I know that the old Pavillion was a Triumph of British Buildings & a place where everyone could go to have a nice day out. I was really upset when I saw the News in 2008 but we have to move on. The new one has a sprinkler system at least to stop a horrible fire and think about it aswell, all those rides, 4D Cinema & a truck load of places to eat. It's more than just a Pier. It's THE BEST PIER IN THE WORLD! Thanks for watching my vid :-)
