i think its clear the Ramones were entertainment business fakes sure they got away with being the Ramones in public but the whole publicity behind them was to be as rude and wimpy as possible and get people in trouble for being reactionaries about joeys mixed race and picking on him that makes sense actually in an era where "political entertainment" was really in charge in fact i think War not only had chart reign but CND might have been a band. good music also.

the motorcycle jacket trend was lame and overall the ramones thought so also it almost got them fired from their label many times it was probably the biggest controversy overall for ny city bands who thought the ramones were too trendy after awhile the Ramones stopped caring about being Punk unfortunately and found it too difficult they decided to be just a band and not "stars."

I noticed right away when I started getting into The Ramones that Dee Dee had some german in him.

He has that sexy square jaw. Not all but a lot of german people have that feature.

@Islington2000 no he was not. He is American, His father was in the US Army, and Dee Dee was born as a legal US Citizen, he grew up only as a little kid there in the American sector on Base. No one ever made fun of that he was a nazi dude.
