you should try changing from the polycarbonat core to something that wont melt and twist up!
i traveled to FLA. this past november and attended the HHO GAMES,
i had a chance to talk to a few guys who dont make them with the polycarb core,
one guy showed me one made from a heavy duty tent peg he got at sams club.
the big ass tent peg makes a great core, it dosent melt and twist up,
some polycarb cores actualy become conductive too!
water is absorbed into polycarb and the electrolite also.

you will be happyer moveing from the mason jar cells to the pro cells like the EBN dry cells.
i have built a great many of thos jar cels and found they just burn up or ware out in a month or two.
good for testing perposes and trying out to see if it works on a given make or modle, but then you need a real consumer generator, not the jars
the jar is fine for now as i am still testing, but you can check my new videos, the jar works fine, and the wire doesn't burn up
