Eh... this sucks. Sorry, but it is terrible! You ought to work on the GI a lot more and the general feel to the room is very unrealistic. Experiment with changing the settings on the GI and adding less light sources (bigger ones, like the sun; small lights should affect only a small region). Materials play a huge role in light bouncing and low poly counts help you lower your render time. Don't add unnecessary geometry! Smooth isn't always better - AA can help your sharp edges look better!
really takes a long time , i have been there. try mental ray instead, can be much quicker, but lighting is way harder ... i advice a turbosmooth in the bed sheet... the scene can be a lot better , just keep working and you'll get there. nice work by the way.
@ThexRaGeD I thought that. But then i dont get an idea. Lighting should come from some real resource then (like lamp or sth) and the music shouldnt be "presentive" style. It should be scary. Like "Da Octopusss" works or sth.
You need to work a little bit more on textures. I know they're complicated to create a nicely textured scene, but it's a problem that every 3D artist needs to deal with.
you need to look up much better vray settings bro. Or change your materials. Something like that. I know that vray should look better than this. I like the models though!
Can i give you some feedback without sounding like i'm hating. First off, your modelling work is fantastic, no questions about that. Where you could get a better finish lies within the materials. I can see you obviously know about V-ray lights, but little things like makeing sure the materials are all V-ray materials can reduce your rendering time (37 hours seems high for the resolution but not for V-Ray :D) I would also recommend bump mapping and adding spec and glosiness maps to ...... cont
@byAMSC your materials as this will give a more professional look and realistic. (eg, a varnished wooden cabinet would be quite glossy :D). I could pick at the lighting a bit however, some of the shadows seem quite dark so maybe add, even an omni light would do (But set to ambient only) and maybe reduce the intesity of your lights. I hope you don't see this as hate, that would be the last thing i would want to do :D, Good luck with your course :D
@byAMSC naa thats cool cheers for the advice. i'm going to be using it more and more throughout my course and since this was the first time i used it i expected it to be flawed :)
@ThexRaGeD Ah no worries man, I'm looking forward to more stuff from you! Any questions, just Pm me up and i'll try my best :D. Obviously, your tutors will be the best resource though! Keep it up dude :)
@anzik95 I was using vRay. it's a professional plug-in that creates realistic lighting and shadowing. The scene contains 4 light sources as well as a high sub-division count, so a render time this big is common for a large piece. I also have a very high end laptop thanks.
looks kinda like the room in misfits when the drug dealers ex gf is a zombie and curtis brings back teh dead peeps
