Interesting that you can comment that Duckworth is terrible when she has never even held elected office. And I know well enough about DuPage County - I live in Glen Ellyn. Roskam votes along the party line which seems to be what you want. not my choice.

Duckworth's PAC is running ads against Mark Kirk here in Illinois right now talking about how much he hates veterans, etc. When the man is active duty military personnel. Duckworth is a lame liberal wannabe. To suggest Roskam, a former malpractice trail attorney, votes party line is ridiculous. He has come over to the good side with his age.

Cons like to play the we support veterans card so it's my turn - nice way to badger a veteran with both her legs shot off. The site rubberstamproskam was developed for a reason. I've written him three letters and while he was kind enough to write back his form letters that give no substance or specific direction on his stance. And when it came time to vote of course it WAS along party lines. I'll credit him for one thing though - at the GOP retreat he was the most civil to Obama.

Roskam's district is rubber-stamp Republican anyway. There were concerns that Henry Hyde was too liberal for the district. There is nothing wrong with a person voting with party leadership.

True on Roskam's district. I've been here six years moving over from NW Indiana. I never thought I would see the words Hyde and liberal together but then again I only heard bits about him from the state next door.

Some of my family lives in NW Indiana. I am from Winnetka (Mark Kirk's district), we are significantly more socially liberal here, but New Trier itself is solidly GOP in general.

On the contrary, Roskam really supports veterens (not literally like Olderman said), and I can tell you that he is a patriotic congressman that does listen to the people unlike the rest of Illinois politicians. And I am able to say this because I have had the pleasure of meeting him and his staff personally.

Roskam is my Representative, but he doesn't represent me, he is a Corporatist and Bush's rubber stamp. If we don't get rid of this guy in my district in November I'm moving, because I need a representative who will actually listen to my calls and letters and not merely respond with the GOP spin.

DuPage is getting bluer all the time - don't give up hope. Granted he is very popular right now so 2010 will probably be his year again as there is no strong Dem to challenge him. Support Schanowsky Bean Halverson and the other saner districts and perhaps when enough of these Foxbots see that the GOOPers are trying to screw this country maybe even DooPage county will finally wake up too.

check out Roskams speedo commercial. It was not a spin attempt by opponents, it straight from his camp. Only a fundie self-funded pud would put a pre-teen speedo photo of himself in his commercial.
