awesome cover! did you over dub your back up harmony vocal inside the recording software or does it do by itself using the voice live 2? can you directly use this hardware into pro tools? let me know im thinking of getting it.
First off I'd like to say, outstanding cover, sounds great! Secondly, I'm serriously looking to pick one of these up, but wondering if it would be worth my while as "harmonies" wouldn't be the number one thing I'm really looking to utilize. I play in a 90's to current cover band and a lot of the effects I'd be looking to use would be doubling, mega phone (low fi) some detune "sher" sounds, and all in all just a very nice rich vocal setting for all around great sounding vocals.... thought?
@JamesCecilia this thing will do all of that.it has a ton of effects that sound amazing. there are also some new patches that are posted on there board that are really cool. you will love this thing
Awesome, can you tell me what chord progression you're using. Great job! Very inspirational. Makes me want to learn the song in an acoustic cover style. Really like what you did here. If you can email me the chords that would be awesome. Thanks
@MonchoSinger I just used the pop duo setting for the harmony. I have had it a while now and know how to use it better. They are a cool piece of equipment
woaaaaa!!! excellent! I don't know what say! But you are great. I like your version! I listen everydays....can you write me chords what you play? Thank you very much for this song! continu...................amazing!
When I shot this I hadn't had it long. I am getting the hang of it. I love it. I play in a trio and we can make some big noise with these. We have 2 of them
@customgtrs man, that is so cool. You really inspire me to get one. I am getting a Rode NT1a mic for my next CD. I used an sm58 shure mic to do all the vocals on my last CD, and I realised I need a good studio mic, and while I was at it, I could get this Voicelive2 to help me out.
I have a Rode NT1a also. It is a really good mic. I use it for everything. I also have an sm 81 for recording the acoustic with the rode.. You will really like it. SM58 will sound like a shoebox compared to the rode.
This is great! The old 1977 Commodores hit! You could be on Motown Records(The Commodores' old label)or Capitol Records or Epic Records or Asylum Records or Atlantic Records or Interscope Records, etc! Great Job!
I think it is fairly easy to program. You can put different steps on the main stomp and add reverb , doubling and such to those presets. Some of the presets use the different effects so you can take those away. You just have to sit down and work with it some.
AS long as you don't go above 50 on the setting the Pitch correction works good. Go above 50 and you sound like Cher. There is a preset to give you that over corrected sound. It is called KAyne something.
it seems the voice live is only good at harmonies the other effects it seems a mixer can do.$800 is pretty steep for that.Whats your take on it i was going to buy one but thats my opinion from watching various videos on it but you have it and theres none here where i live to try out....
This was a video I shot when I first got it. It has some really cool effects that you can layer and punch in and out. I am learning to use it better. It is a little high at $800 i agree . I would buy it again. I would say wait a while until the voicelive 3 comes out and these will probably be a steal.
Is there a voicelive 3 coming out?Where can i get some info on this.....also would you agree the other cool affects you talk about can be acheieved through a good mixer?
I am not sure about the voicelive 3. There are all kind of effects and reverb and such. They are just so controllabe from you and not someone at a board.
good video. well done .... got any more to show the voicelive 2 ? I am just about to buy one and prefer ordinary people like us showing how it is etc .... thanks .

Wonder if you can do this with the original Motown version of the song from 1977 using the VoiceLive2?
Chicago10281 1 year ago
The voicelive 2 can do almost anything. I can't do the Motown Version but Voicelive can

Probably just a personal preference, but the G Bm7 Am7 C/D
Sound much more like the L Richie version.

were you using a preset? If so, which one? Sounds great!!

I was using the Pop Duo setting
Thanks

Not sure what you mean. Thanks
customgtrs 2 years ago
I have never really used midi but I am sure it can be done
customgtrs 2 years ago
You just put steps in which are easy to add then you can add and subtract effects within the steps.
customgtrs 2 years ago
It can be controlled by midi. I use the guitar thru it to pick up the key I am playing in or you can set the key
