That would be a swell idea if you used aluminum screws, but not only are they hard to find, most would never do that. Most screws have a galvanized metal coating. Water rushing down the downspout wets the two dissimilar metals - zinc and aluminum - and you get electrolysis. The screw eventually corrodes.
