  • you actually didnt gain that much weight from your non-diet days.

    usually when i stop my diet i gain 4 lbs or more a day!

    I'm guessing you have a pretty fast metabolism :P

  • Thanks! That's encouraging! I've been doing really really bad and now my blood pressure is dangerously high and that has scared me into eating healthy again. Today I was 161.7

    I'll be eating alot of oatmeal for a while. Yum!!

  • is oatmeal actually good for losing weight? i know its definetly good for high blood pressure, cause my mom has REALLY high blood pressure and she eats oatmeal and garlic all the time, but doesnt it contain a ton of calories?

  • I just started eating oatmeal too. I have to do an update video soon. My blood pressure has shot up very high in just one months time and I am now trying to be more careful. Oatmeal is allowed on the Six Week Body Makeover. A doctor friend of mine said that oatmeal is a carb, but it is a slow burning carb and is good for you. I just had some for breakfast today.

    I don't use the packets, I get the Quaker Oats Old Fashioned Oatmeal. I make it with water and put it in the microwave. It's ready within 3 minutes and is really good. How high is your Mom's blood pressure and how old is she? Mine was 168/104 and my pulse was 100.

    I didn't start back on my diet yet, but it looks like I am going to have to for more reasons than one.

  • oh, i see, thats the difference, cause my mom makes it with milk, so i guess that does add to the calories. My mom's blood pressure was 198/95, but im not sure about the pulse and she's somewhere in her late 40s or early 50s. yeah, her doctor also advised her to lose weight, i think about 10 lbs.

  • I was curious why my blood pressure went up and stayed up so suddenly. I read that hormonal changes can do that. As it turns out I am now officially in menopause, which would make sense then. It's a little early, but oh well. Yea, 198 is really high on the top number. Mine didn't go above 175 as far as I know. Weight loss helps alot of times. I know it does for me.
