@yankee2yankee You seem to have experienced a history malfunction. It was FDR who first made cannabis illegal. Alcohol proved too popular to outlaw, but it was conservatives who attempted it during Prohibition, not liberals. Marijuana was a poor man's drug, associated with Mexicans and black people, and was therefore demonized by (white) politicians and newspapers of all parties. Racism made cannabis illegal... but it happened when republicans were still the less-racist party.

Great song. Loose laugh track, or at least make it more realistic, The laughs came to fast and stopped too fast.

That said I think there was a few people talking in the background (0:48 after cough) so the vid might be in front of a well trained audience.

If it was a live audience, they must have heard the song before and "knew" at exactly which points to laugh and how quickly to stop, so as not to step on the next verse. It had a very odd sound. Distracting.
