  • This recipe is fantastic if you have grown the Rocket which is very easy to do,you must have a go.

  • Correction!!!--- Arugula is a way cooler name than Rocket!! Rockets are for the 1950's or the Future. ANd "Red Rockets" are from an excited male dog.

ARUGULA__========is the NEW COOOOOOOOL!!! Dig it! Chef John!

  • Wow, looks amazing

  • Do not buy Rocket,it grows like widfire in pots in the summer.

  • t h a n k s

Anything with Bacon for sure is a try in my kitchen.

Interesting combination of the smokiness of the bacon the sweetnes of the beans the sharpness of the rocket and the tartness of the lemon... mmm I am salivating and have not even prepared it!.

  • This is so good. Rocket beans: buckle up!

  • the beans EXPLODE!!!!!!! not I'm just kidding but it is good

  • This looks great, can't wait to try it out.

By the way - selling a few leaves of rocket as a herb?! I cannot believe some people...!

  • That's a great recipe ! Thanks !

  • I've made this recipe twice this week. I also made a video of my attempt. I'll post it as a response video.

  • I love your recipes Chef John! It's great when I can make a recipe from a chef (TV or Internet) and it come out as good as demonstrated. Awesome!!

  • I could not agree more!....I have tried SEVERAL of Chef Johns recipes/ many of them multiple times/ and my rate of success is about 95%.... And I am by no means what I would consider a "Great" cook. His vids are concise/ humorous/entertaining/educational AND easy to follow.........There are none better!

  • Chef John, I'd just like you to know that I got a Paula Deen dutch oven for Easter from my boyfriend because I sent him your Cassoulet video. So thank you! Shitloads!

  • WOW, i love this recipe so much

I just found about your channel few days ago. I subscribed because you are awsome

    ^_^

  • I'm Australian and I love watching cooking shows, always wondering what the heck Arugula is and now I know.. it's roquette! so thanks for verifying that =D

  • I am going to give that a try. Thanks.

  • Rockin' Recipe!

  • I don't care for arugula, so could I use spinach instead?

  • its possible

but the dish may become watery if you dont squeeze out the water from the spinach

  • Yeah, I would probably use frozen spinach, just so I could squeeze out excess water. :) Thanks for the advice!

  • or collards, or mustard, or turnip greens ... although I'm going to try rocket first. I'd use the other word but I'm not about to learn how to spell it.

  • Is rocket bean the actual name of the bean? Where can i find rocket beans? Do they come in a can or a bag?

  • the bean is "butter bean" the rocket part is the nickname for arugula.

  • Maybe watch the video? the beans are ordinary Butter Beans, the Rocket is a nickname for the type of lettuce used in this video.

  • Rewatch the vidoe rocket is nickname for the arugula. He used butter beans can drained. See foowishes list in info for all ingrediants listed out.

  • Delicious 5/5

  • great job, as always :P

  • rocket beans sounds so awesome

  • awsomeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

  • This looks delicious. Excellent vegetarian dish (as we all know bacon is made of love, not of meat), I will try this for sure.

Now if I could only find out what butter beans are called in Denmark...

  • We love butter beans!

  • I'm going to cook this for my sister who like Lima Beans. She will like this, too, I am guessing.

  • Bacon is the Chuck Norris of food.

  • Heck yea!!!

  • would it not be the bruce lee of foods? since we all know bruce lee is far better then chuck norris

  • 5 nom-noms!

  • rocket beans would let the rocket in you come out. just be careful because I heard rumors that people disappear when they eat rocket beans :/

  • lol that doesnt make you gay

  • lol

  • awkward.

  • Yum, I love the combination of beans and bacon.

  • i wonder if you can make it into a soup by adding broth.

  • "... half a lemon ...

Drives me nuts. What do you do with the other half besides stick it in the refrigerator until you spot it 6 months later and toss it? Maybe make a double batch, use the whole lemon and no waste.

  • Or cut it into slices and put it into drink

  • make lemonade?

  • buy 2 lemons... take the juice from 1 and a half poor into a big glass with some jack daniels n cointreu/triple sec, add ice and top with sprite. WOOT

  • WORD!

  • Awesome, thanks chef

  • aweeesome : )

  • :D Love your videos, keep it up !
