I like this movie, and I was close to crying at the end, with all that was going on, but i still think this is a misunderstood comedy. Detective Mack Taylor, alias Gary Sinise was tired of his job as a police officer, so he decided on fighting the communists in vietnam along with Forrest Gump. But Forrest pissed him off, so he left to work on a farm in Salinas, California, where he met an equally stupid person. In the end, hes just like, "Fuck it", shoots him, and goes back to New York. The end.
