I've owned a couple of AMG cars, and although they were powerful, the didn't handle well, and the Benz quality is just horrible... By the looks of this video, it seems like the same old AMG car - lots of power and can't take corners without getting the tail end out = slow lap times...

Honestly anybody would be much more comfortable with the AMG model, or the normal model with nice beautiful AMG body kit, exhausts and rims, which probably can be installed by mercedes themselves.
Even though this is much nicer and cooler looking than a CTS-V Coupe, for just over half price, I gotta take the V. That way, I can have my Cayman too!

That's more power than you get in an SLS AMG, more than a Mercedes McLaren, more than an Audi R8 V10, and more than any M series BMW. From an American, DOHC 5.8L all aluminum supercharged V8. It also has BiIstein dampers, Torsen diff, etc. I almost forgot to mention PTWA was developed by Ford and AMG engineers bought the rights to use it. Americans do built great cars

You spend more for a car b/c it has a pretty interior, but u trade it in at 60k miles b/c the cost of repairs are rediculous...when you can buy, say a Caddilac CTS-V for 30k less than a M5, with a comparable interior and a proven drivetrain built so no repairs are needed for at least 100k miles, has a 100k mile warranty, and its faster and handles just as well, if not better...
Would you rather buy a house built by contractors that are known to have terrible craftsmanship or would you rather take the home for 20% more that is made by a well acclaimed contracting group? Be honest. Would you rather buy a Dell laptop with flimsy build quality or a well crafted Apple Computer? Would you rather buy into stock recommended by a trading company with low accuracy rate or the trading company with high accuracy rate for 20% more? Same applies with autos.

Therefore, your argument is irrelevant to the debate. The point is that an American vehicle went to the Ring, which is arguably the most difficult circuit in the world, and kicked everyone's asses. That means German cars, Italian cars, Japanese cars, etc. There's no arguing around empirical evidence: 7:12.13, that is all.

@LXnastynotch93 yeah, and for those who want to put up the argument that the ACR is not a daily drivable car, the Corvette ZR1 did it in 7:17 if im not mistaken, and the Z06 did it in 7:20...not many Euro production daily drivable cars doing that, huh? and for the ones that might get close, you could buy all 3 of the stated vehicles and still have some left over for the price of the one Euro that comes "close" to the American cars....Get off ur high horse, Euros, the Americans are back!

Anyone can make a good car, but not as consistently as Germany. Tell me something, are there any other well engineered Dodge vehicle? I did not think so. The Viper ACR was made for the Nurburgring. It is completely designed for lap times. It would seem if Dodge and other American auto manufactures would put that kind of care into all other automobiles they wouldn't be going bankrupt and begging for money. I am only stating that German autos are typically the better buy. No harm

@rubiks15 Ford did not take a cent of bailout money. They also just released the 2013 GT500 with 650 horsepower from the factory. That's more power than you get in an SLS AMG, more than a Mercedes McLaren, more than an Audi R8 V10, and more than any M series BMW. From an American, DOHC 5.8L all aluminum supercharged V8. It also has BiIstein dampers, Torsen diff, etc. I almost forgot to mention PTWA was developed by Ford and AMG engineers bought the rights to use it. Americans do built great cars

You spend more for a car b/c it has a pretty interior, but u trade it in at 60k miles b/c the cost of repairs are rediculous...when you can buy, say a Caddilac CTS-V for 30k less than a M5, with a comparable interior and a proven drivetrain built so no repairs are needed for at least 100k miles, has a 100k mile warranty, and its faster and handles just as well, if not better...

If you had ever driven Porsche GT3 rs you would know that viper is no match for it overall. Not even close. What you dont understand is that porsche could make the car much faster for track. @sspope You must be retarded. Since I can't post links on here, go ahead and google production car lap times Nurburgring. Yes, the Gumpert and Radical are faster. However the Radical is open cockpit, and the Gumpert isn't legal in the USA. Yes it's (the Gumpert) faster, but I can't get my hands on one, and neither can you. Oh and it beat the ACR by less than a second, while costing 4 times as much, point being, Americans do it better for less money. Also see ZR1, end of story my ass.

Yes those are faster than the ACR, but they aren't mass produced cars. So what I was saying, again, was that the Viper ACR is the fastest production car around the 'Ring. Oh, and you can have 2-4 ACR's for the price of one Gumpert Apollo. I'll take my ACR, and a nice house, and have fun living out of your Gumpert, fool.

I'm pretty sure the ZR1 Corvette puts down 550+ wheel horsepower, the Viper puts down around 540+ horsepower to the wheels, etc. The new GT500 will put down 560+ to the wheels. Ever hear of magneto rheological suspension? Yeah that was developed by GM and adopted by other auto-makers. It's the forefront of suspension damping technology.

@Djovovic Really? Mosler MT900S, SSC Ultimate Aero which held the production car Top Speed record for a while before the Veyron SS beat it by 11.63 MPH, while costing three times as much. Oh and the SSC did that with a 6.4L V8 (LSx series based) and two turbochargers. How about the Saleen S7 TT, have you ever heard of that? That car was an absolute monster, in it's own right WAY before the Zonda R. You Euro-trash butt-boys are so smug, when you really don't have anything to be smug about.
