  • @AnimeNekoDoki i know it's not my place to answer but through all the fried rice i ate, konegi is one of the main ingredient to fried rice.

  • I use onion, garlic, and egg, but I add butter to it after the rice is coated with soy sauce

    but i only add egg, green onion and meat, and more meat

    but when i see my mom make it she would put the rice in water for a second or two and when she done it not sticky or dry but taste like normal rice

  • Wow, I didn't realize the importance egg had on the recipe. It gave the rice alot of its caramelized color. I hate to ask this, but do you have any suggestions on an acceptable substitute for eggs? I've simply omitted it before, but doesn't look as pleasing (if that makes any sense, LOL!)

  • I followed the video fairly closely i'm pretty sure, but it turned out kinda tough. I did notice that the rice i made was incredibly gooey and sticky even though i rinsed it before hand. Could that be the problem? i did use a rice cooker, should i cook it in a pot or something next time? advice would be appreciated.

    Anyway, i'm interested in indian cooking, and they do it the opposite way, loads and loads of indridients, and taking time cooking it on medium to low heat.

  • Loved the idea of coating the rice with egg before cooking! I tried it out, and it made cooking it a lot easier, and it was a lot easier getting that nice uniform color on the rice. :)

  • @runnyrunny999 as for the issue with the rice being too dry, what I did was add some butter, like 2-3 tablespoons of it for the whole batch, do it right after you turn the heat off, put the butter In and stir it fast so it does not foam up. It adds a very nice flavor
