My guitar sounds different than yours, causing my chords to sound of, im not sure if its the way I tune my guitar (just of the E string) or if I am putting my fingers in the wrong positions. can anyone help me out here? ty
@GURRILLAkCA Go to Yahoo and type in "online guitar tuner". I use one for my 12 string. It plays the sound right there on the internet so all you have to do is match it. Good luck.
Hey man, you're good --just curious --why not show your face LOL. I still can't get the upstroke mute though ....if you could walk through it a little slower on that strum part it might be easier to figure out. The rest is great.
@liambrawley nah man its a mute. just lift your fingers up a little, and youll get it with a acoustic or electric. its more noticible that its a mute on electric though.
nice job. you can make the transition from C to G easier and quicker if you move your C chord up one set of strings, lift index finger off and plant pinky on third fret of high E to make a G chord.
Great lesson ... Quick suggestion to beginners trying to learn. This is a good song to practice using barre chords. It's the same shaped barre chord. Just play the G with a barre on the 3rd fret, and slide down two frets to barre the 1st fret to get your F chord, and finally transition to the open C chord. I find it easier to play this riff that way, and it's the perfect simple riff to practicing moving that barre chord.
Good lesson, btw everyone, the F has to be played on the up stroke, or no matter what you do it will not sound correct. It is only played for one beat too.
that was great i picked it up fast..like how you get to the point :)

;chords are right by the strum pattern is off, there is a double strum that goes through this song and gives it that feel.

its even easier if you use your middle, ring and pinky fingers for the G chord!! makes it soooo much easier to move to the F and C chords.

Is the palm mute on each downstroke of each chord? Sounds like it is but I'm not sure. Great quick tutorial. Thanks.

@o37c Open chords like he's playing are much easier than barre chords for beginners.
