  • Great stuff!

  • God bless the House of Stuart. April 16 1745.

  • Great scenic shots on this post! The viaduct and view of the sea is breathtaking!

  • Excellent footage Hugh, your video shows how stunning the West Highland line is and that it is a proper feat of engineering.

    Cheers Phil.

  • excellent video, one of the better ones on You Tube. I have done that line many times,loco-hauled by a diesel, and by steam, that loco was one of them, and journeys by the modern day trains, the most wonderful line I have ever travelled, and before Harry Potter brought to the publics attention.

  • very nice video thanks

  • So wanna go there.

  • I love Scotland.I should live there.

  • You should seek treatment for your anti-social sickness Laithnoor. Why did you watch all the video. YOU must be a WANKER!!!

  • laithnour - Get a life you self righteous moron!

  • U clearly dont know a thing about steam trains. They are actually cleaner than alot of diesel locomotives, The majority of the exhaust is just steam. The rest of the coal smoke is so heavy it just falls back down to the ground and doesnt get absorbed into the atmosphere. Whereas diesels burn much shorter chain hydrocarbons and therefore its absorbed into the atmosphere more readily. Read some books about it before making comments! Learn some manners whilst your at it!

  • @justandy333 : Steam trains actually promote rain ... dat´s why farmers are being driven off the land in the Mallee of Victoria, Australia. Steam locomotives the locomotion too to cloud - seeding.

  • @laithnour : yes they often are a little way that inclined

  • Great vid, the stags are huge up that way

  • aye beautiful im afraid to say though that the first stag is dead. i live on the glenfinnan estate and that stag first shown was indded named clockwork orange due to a distinct orange patch on its tail he sadly died on the main road by the monument. the other one i dont know but he was magnificent filmed around may??

    bye

  • Thanks for this BETAMAN, I have a genuine tear in my eye hearing this. He was such a magnificent animal. I felt very priviliged and exhilerated to have such a close encounter of the stag kind, Hugh.

  • I'm guessing it got hit by a train? :( happens all the time up there

  • Thanks , I read some where that another was coming home too.

  • We have just returned from a week in Scotland stayed two nights in Fort William didnt prebook the steam train and couldnt get a seat, great video, stags excellent. But if you want to go make sure you book your seat first.

  • Brilliant. Anyone heard of a Scottish built locomotive being scrapped in Belgium ,like to find the name of it.

  • There was Drunnond designed 0-6-0 (almost identical to the Caledonian Railway's 812 class) cut up for scrap in 2002. Being a goods engine it didn't carry a name and I can't remember the number. I hope this information is of some help to you.

  • Very nice, well taken.

    Steam and Stags :-)

  • Really like the video by the way, the stags are amazing

  • oh im not up front although i wish i was, i work in the souviner shop on the train and also play the bagpipes at glenfinnan station and mallaig. I did get a wee ride up front(8F)it was when it was shunting at fort william.

  • I was only joking, But your still a lucky man.

I think we have unwittingly met, because I've bought DVDs from your shop and worked in the yard.

    Hugh.

  • We more than likely may have indeed met. What did you do in the yard, you a member of one of the support crews.

  • i worked on the jacobite last year and im on again this year as well, best job in the world. totally amazing

  • Now heres a man who's extremely happy at this work. I trust you will take care & look after 5407 up there from the the EAST LANCASHIRE RAILWAY.
